Buffalo WEX-1166DHPS Wireless LAN Repeater Unveiled
Buffalo has unveiled their newest wireless LAN repeater, the WEX-1166DHPS. Designed to extend the radio range of the wireless LAN into out-of-reach areas of the home, the WEX-1166DHPS is equipped with a built-in antenna, a WPS button and 1x wired LAN port, and supports for dual-band WiFi access point (2.4GHz – 300Mbps and 5GHz – 866Mbps).
Corresponding to high-speed WiFi standard 11ac, the WEX-1166DHPS provides security through encryption using WPA 2-PSK (AES), WPA-PSK (AES), WPA/WPA 2 mixed PSK (AES/TKIP) and WEP (128/64bit).
Measuring W65mm x D40mm x H95mm, the Buffalo WEX-1166DHPS will hit the market from late December for around 7,200 Yen (about $64). [Product Page]

Buffalo hits back with a new line of USB 3.1 (Gen1) portable SSDs, the SSD-PMU3A. Coming in three different storage capacities: 120GB, 240GB and 480GB, these compact and lightweight SSDs (Black & Silver color options) feature a shock-proof and vibration-proof enclosure conforming to ‘MIL-STD-810G 516.6 procedure IV’ and a micro-USB 3.1 (Gen1) connection interface, and support for Windows 10, 8.1, 7 and Mac OS X 10.9 or later operating systems.
In addition, you can download ‘SecureLock Mobile 2’ and ‘Disk Formatter 2’ software for free. Performance-wise, the SSD-PMU3A portable SSDs can deliver high speed file transfer of about 421.6MB when reading and 370MB/s when writing.

Buffalo is gearing up to launch their latest portable Blu-ray drive, the BRXL-PT6U3-D. Measuring 14.4mm thick and weighing 300 grams, this slim and lightweight Blu-ray drive is equipped with a USB 3.1 Gen.1 connection interface (USB Type-C conversion cable included), a ‘Boost Cable’ to solve the power shortage, BDXL support and M-DISC support.
Supporting Windows 7, 8.1, 10 and Mac OS X 10.10 or later operating systems, the BRXL-PT6U3-D can deliver write speeds of up to 6x for BD-R (SL/DL). In addition, the BRXL-PT6U3-D comes with a number of software from CyberLink including PowerDVD 12, Power 2Go 8, PowerDirector 10, PowerBackup 2.5, PhotoDirector 4 LE and MediaShow 6.
