10 Best Shows to Binge Watch on Netflix

With summer beginning, some of us would like to spend all our time in the great outdoors, while the rest of us sit on the couch devouring a TV series. I’ve made a list of the top binge-worthy shows on Netflix available to watch right now!

Orange is the New Black

Orange is the New Black is one of my top favorite shows of all time. It has a perfect balance of drama, comedy, romance, and suspense to keep you hooked and watching episode after episode. When Piper Chapman gets sentenced for a crime she committed over a decade earlier, she must go to a women’s prison. When she arrives at this prison, she immediately comes across an entire cast of quirky, strange, hilarious, and sometimes creepy characters, including her ex-girlfriend who is responsible for landing her in prison. Orange is the New Black is one of the most diverse shows on TV, representing often overlooked minorities, such as the LGBT, Latino, and African-American communities. Another aspect that I love about it is that its cast is made of almost entirely female actresses, and has strong female protagonists. Orange is the New Black is available to stream right now!

13 Reasons Why

The breakout hit of 2017, and already the most tweeted about show in Netflix history, 13 Reasons Why is a powerful, emotional story of teenage girl, Hannah Baker, who committed suicide and left behind a series of 13 tapes giving the reasons for her death. 13 people are the subjects of her tapes, each a reason for contributing to her eventual suicide. Featuring mostly unknown and unfamiliar young actors, everyone delivers in their roles exceptionally. The subject matter, often hard to watch and deal with, is important, because this show dares to talk about subjects that are often avoided, such as teen suicide, mental illness, rape, and stalking. I have never seen a show that talks so openly about these subjects, and I’m glad that it has brought more awareness. Watch 13 Reasons Why on Netflix now.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

My favorite Netflix original comedy, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt tells the story of a woman who was imprisoned in an underground bunker with a madman for several years, from the age of fourteen all the way to adulthood. When she finally emerges, she must learn how to survive in a world that progressed without her. Watching her navigate the 21st century is hilarious to watch, as Kimmy is naive and innocent compared to the people around her. The other characters are great as well, with memorable characters such as Titus Andromedon, Kimmy’s opera singing roommate. If you watch this show, you’ll be sure to fall in love with the theme song and have trouble getting it out of your head for days. I say that’s a good thing. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is available to watch now.

Stranger Things

Another Netflix original that has made waves and found tons of success, Stranger Things is one of the best scifi shows on TV right now. Set in the 1980s in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, Stranger Things is about a boy gone missing and a town’s subsequent search for him. Supernatural events occur throughout the town and all kinds of twists and turns happen throughout the series. Find out the secrets of Hawkins and watch this enthralling show! It is streaming on Netflix now.

Sherlock

The Brits sure know how to make quality drama. Sherlock is a modern take on the classic Sherlock Holmes novels and franchise, putting Sherlock and his friend Watson into modern day Britain to solve crimes and mysteries. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are the best duo on television, both excellent actors who seem born to play their roles of Sherlock and Watson. With 90 minute long episodes, this series feels like multiple movies, and each one has the production value and quality of any Hollywood film. The writing is top-notch; rarely have I seen such consistently good writing from a television series. Many of Sherlock’s mysteries keep me compelled the entire episode, as they are always clever, interesting, and excellently crafted. Watch Sherlock on Netflix today.

Portlandia

Okay, Portlandia may not be the show that appeals to the widest audience in the world, as its humor focuses specifically on the culture of Portland, Oregon, a city known for hipsters and weirdos. But the reason I love this show and think everyone should give it a chance, is that although it pokes fun at one city in particular, its jokes can be applied to almost any majorly liberal city in America. Seattle, New York, San Francisco, take your pick, they’re all made into jokes, and Portlandia isn’t offensive, but funny. Comedy duo Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein play various characters, from a pair of women feminist bookstore owners, to the lovely (if odd) couple Lance and Nina (spoiler alert, they’re gender-swapped; Fred plays the woman and Carrie plays the man.) All of their characters are funny without being so stereotypical that they become irritating. Most seasons are available on Netflix right now with the exception of the latest.

Jane the Virgin

Ever watched a telenovela? Seen the over-the-top acting, dramatic music, constant face slaps, and heavily cliched story lines? Well, Jane the Virgin parodies all of that. Based on the Spanish language telenovela of the same name, Jane the Virgin is an American-based show, about a woman named Jane who happens to be a twenty-four year old virgin — who gets pregnant through an accidental artificial insemination. Sound crazy? It sure is! All kinds of antics ensue on this wacky show, from love triangles, to long lost twins, to long lost lovers, to kidnappings, murders, and even hidden identities, there’s all kinds of craziness to go around. Unlike a telenovela though, Jane the Virgin is entirely self-aware, and makes fun of itself. It knows how exaggerated it is and plays that to its advantage. This show is all about pure entertainment and hilarity. All seasons except the latest are available on Netflix.

The Office (US and UK)

One of the most well-known mockumentaries and sitcoms to ever grace the screen, The Office in both its original UK glory and US remake are fantastic shows. I think both are equal, though they have their differences. The UK version of The Office has a bit more dry, as well as sexual humor, whereas the US Office is generally a bit closer to the PG side of ratings. Both are about a group of people working in an office together. The concept doesn’t sound like much, but it’s the great and memorable characters that make the show shine. Every season of both versions are on Netflix.

The Walking Dead

Over the past seven years now, The Walking Dead has managed to captivate audiences everywhere. Telling the story of a zombie apocalypse and a group of survivors led by Sheriff Rick Grimes, The Walking Dead is gritty, depressing, violent, and sometimes grotesque. There’s little joy to be found in the series, but that makes the happy moments so much more satisfying when they finally do happen. Don’t get too attached to any characters, as many are lost throughout the seasons in this apocalyptic world where danger lurks around every corner. The zombies, known as “walkers” on the show, are terrifying, and I must give props to the makeup artists on this show who manage to make the zombies disgusting looking. The Walking Dead is available to watch on Netflix now.

30 Rock

I consider this show to be the predecessor of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. It’s made by the same creators, and one of my favorite sitcoms of all time. Starring the always funny Tina Fey, 30 Rock tells the story of a woman working in the television industry as a writer at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. The entire cast is hilarious, especially Alec Baldwin and Jane Krakowski. The show often pokes fun at the real life TV station NBC, as well as various celebrities and TV personalities. From the comedies I’ve included on this list, you can probably get a sense of my brand of humor. I hope you enjoy all of these shows and have fun binging on Netflix!

9 Best Shows to Binge Watch on Amazon Prime

With summer beginning, many of you probably have a lot more free time on your hands. If you don’t want to get bored this summer, try watching some of these binge-worthy shows on Amazon Prime!

When you first look at this list, you’ll probably think I have the strangest taste in TV shows ever, but there’s no need to limit yourself to one genre! I think everyone can find a show on this list that they fall in love with.

Survivor

The most famous reality TV show ever, and one of the longest-running, Survivor has been on air since the year 2000. A group of sixteen or more castaways are sent to an island or remote location to outwit, outplay, and outlast, against harsh environments, tough challenges, and each other. Every season is memorable, with interesting casts, exciting twists, and compelling strategy and gameplay, not to mention how funny it is to watch opposite personalities clash. After the entire cast has been voted off, the sole survivor wins one million dollars, not too shabby right? Survivor seasons 1, 3, and 12-28 are available for free with an Amazon Prime membership right now!

Transparent

In my opinion, Transparent is the best Amazon original show. It’s moving, emotional, poignant, and shows every aspect of humanity, from the good to the ugly. Jeffrey Tambor plays a 70-year-old transgender woman coming out after living nearly her entire life with a secret. Immediately, her adult children and ex-wife must come to terms with the revelation that the man they thought they knew is actually a woman. Everyone’s life is thrown upside down, and suddenly they begin to question their own selves in many different ways. Transparent explores humanity in a way that’s not afraid to ask tough questions, and I love that about it. It doesn’t shy away from anything, from topics such as sexuality to the struggles of marriage, everything is examined closely and unabashedly. Every season of Transparent is available to stream on Amazon Prime.

Doctor Who

Doctor Who is one of the longest-running science fiction shows in history. It began airing all the way back in the 1960s and is still airing new episodes today. After taking a few years off in the 90s, Doctor Who returned and rebooted in 2005 to dazzle audiences everywhere and cement itself as one of the greatest sci-fi shows ever made. Meet “the Doctor,” an alien known as a timelord from the planet Gallifrey. He’s been flying across the universe for hundreds of years in his ship known as the “Tardis,” a bright blue police box that’s bigger on the inside. The Doctor has had many incarnations, being played by a dozen different actors over the years. Each doctor has his own unique personality and brings his own flavor to the show, keeping things fresh. Never has time travel and scifi been so much fun. Doctor Who seasons 1 (2005 reboot) through 9 are available for free on Amazon Prime.

RuPaul’s Drag Race

I recently watched three seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race all in the course of a week — it’s that entertaining! Before you go off thinking that this show is about racing cars, let me tell you that it’s about drag queens, otherwise known as female impersonators. Yes, it’s a show about men dressing as women, and it’s fantastic and fascinating. RuPaul, perhaps the most famous drag queen of all time, hosts the show and judges its contestants, a group of men competing for the title of America’s Drag Superstar, a huge supply of cosmetics, and one hundred thousand dollars. They compete in all kinds of challenges to win the competition, from designing stunning gowns and flaunting their figures on the runway, to singing, to dancing, and even acting. If you didn’t think drag was a serious art form before watching the show, you’ll definitely think so afterwards. RuPaul’s Drag Race is a ton of fun, and I don’t think you should miss out on it. Seasons 5 through 7 are available for free on Amazon Prime.

Orphan Black

Tatiana Maslany plays nearly every character on this show. You heard me right! She plays all kinds of characters, from a soccer mom with a struggling marriage in the suburbs, to a lesbian hipster scientist, a mentally ill Russian woman, to a posh British business woman, and even a trans man at one point. She is a superb actress whose talent absolutely shines. Her acting alone is enough to make the show worthwhile. Orphan Black is about a woman named Sarah, an orphan and an outsider who witnesses the death of a woman who looks just like her. Her life unravels as secrets are revealed and worlds are turned upside down. You’ll have to watch to find out why there’s a lot of women who look like Sarah! Seasons 1 through 4 is available for free on Amazon Prime.

Avatar: The Last Airbender

My goodness, where to begin with this show? Avatar has a special place in my heart for being a huge part of my childhood. I grew up with it, and it holds so many wonderful memories and warm nostalgia. I am not simply nostalgic for it though. It still holds up as perhaps the best children’s animated show ever created, and unlike many other children’s shows, Avatar is just as appealing for adults as it is for young children. It tells the story of a young boy who has been trapped in ice for over a hundred years. When he is discovered by two young teens, he quickly finds out that he is the last surviving member of his nation, the Air Nomads, after they were wiped out in a war by the Fire Nation. The boy, Aang, is the Avatar, the hero who must learn how to bend the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water, to stop the Fire Nation and restore peace to the world. He is the only person who can learn how to manipulate each element and the only person who can possibly save the world. Does is sound compelling yet? It really is. Trust me. Seasons 1 through 3 is available for free on Amazon Prime.

American Horror Story

American Horror Story is straight-up creepy. It’s unsettling, uncomfortable to watch at times, and sometimes it truly is horrific. Everything weird and messed up in the world is put out for display on this show, it’s an exhibit of gruesome imagery and the stuff of nightmares. Take your pick from demons, ghosts, vampires, witches, or even serial killers dressed as clowns. (That clown sentence just gave me the chills.) Each season of American Horror Story is a standalone story, though many actors return throughout seasons, playing new characters. One season takes place in a mental asylum, another at a circus full of “freaks,” and another in a hotel ran by a vampire played by Lady Gaga. This show doesn’t shy away from the bizarre, and will often do all it can to push you to your limits. Can you handle a trip into this horror? I guess you’ll have to find out. Seasons 1 through 5 are available for free on Amazon Prime.

The Amazing Race

It’s no secret that I like reality shows as you can see. I like to refer to the Amazing Race as Survivor’s cousin. They air on the same channel and often feature a few of the same faces. The Amazing Race has a group of people who must travel around the entire world, searching for clues, completing challenges, and racing to the finish line to win one million dollars! Watch tension build, emotions erupt, and relationships being put to the test when a million dollars are at stake. And watch the beautiful scenery. The locations on this show alone are almost enough to warrant watching it, as the whole world is visited and explored throughout its seasons. The contestants on the show aren’t just tourists, but they sometimes must get uncomfortably familiar with their foreign environments, from eating strange food, to participating in unique customs and traditions. It’s all a lot of fun to watch, and it’s a lesson in learning about other cultures. Seasons 1 through 25 are available for free on Amazon Prime.

The Bachelor

21 seasons and still going strong, as well as spawning equally entertaining shows such as The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise, The Bachelor is one of the most entertaining shows on TV. Does watching a group of more than a dozen women competes for the love of one man sound crazy? It sure is, and that makes it so much fun to watch! There’s a lot of drama, hilarious moments, awkward moments, and heart-pounding romance. Watch the group travel to exotic locations all over the world and go on dream-worthy dates with the always gorgeous bachelor. Even if the premise of the show is a bit insane, the franchise has actually had happy endings, with several of its couples ending up married and still together. Currently, none of the seasons are available for free to stream on Amazon Prime, but they are available for affordable prices.

15 Cool Alien Artworks from Etsy

Are you a huge sci-fi fan? Do you like aliens? Looking for some new, awesome, and beautiful art to hang on your walls? Well, the search is over, because I have a list of fifteen cool Alien artworks from Etsy! Ranging from the incredibly cheap, to the unbelievably expensive, there’s something here for every art connoisseur.

Read on to look at the list!

Space Decal

I love how this isn’t just a decal, but a decal that makes the wall look like its bursting open. I think it’s a very cool effect and the image on the decal is beautiful. It really does transform a living room into a spaceship.

Alien Skull With Tentacles

My goodness, if I told you this was hand carved, would you believe me? It certainly is, and it’s absolutely breathtaking. More spectacular pieces from this same artist also appear on this list, because I just couldn’t look away.

Alien Parody of Famous Painting

We’ve all seen this painting before right? But wait, is that an alien instead of a person? I’ve always been a fan of taking already famous pieces and seeing them altered into something new. It’s a silly painting, but it’s impressive all the same.

Alien Predator Wood Engraving

Another gorgeous wood artwork that I just can’t get enough of. This one is recognizable as a character from the Alien movie franchise. Fitting for an article dedicated to aliens right?

London UFO Invasion Lino Print

I love this unique artwork. I don’t see art like this too often, as its a style that doesn’t seem to be all that popular, but look at its simplicity. It may be simple, but it’s intricate and detailed at the same time. The scene its portraying is great too, an alien invasion on the city of London.

Gray Mass of Tentacles

So when you look at this one, what do you see? I see a gray mass of tentacles, which is why I titled it this way, but the thing is, it’s a bit abstract. Not everyone is a fan of abstract art, but I like how it’s up for interpretation, and that there’s something eerie about this painting.

Cute Little Alien

By far the most adorable piece of art on this list, I had to include for those of you who are looking for less creepy alien artworks. It’s perfect for decorating a child’s room as well. Gosh, I can’t stop thinking about how cute it is.

Creepy Alien Fish

Speaking of creepy, here is one of the creepiest pieces on the list. By the same artist as the Gray Mass of Tentacles, this one isn’t abstract. We can see that it’s a fish, an otherworldly, terrifying fish.

Ancient Alien Guy

Okay, he’s not an alien, I know. But this is an article that’s all about aliens, so I had to include him. He’s one of my favorite memes ever, and here he is on a poster, looking cute as heck. I know I’d hang this on my wall.

Alien Wood Carving

The third wood carving on this list, and once again, I’m blown away by how fantastic it is. Just breathtaking.

Alien Fish Undersea Painting

I absolutely love the colors on this piece. It’s so bright, vibrant, and fun. It reminds me of the Beatles, “Yellow Submarine.” Remember that movie? This is one of my favorite art styles ever.

Alien in Nightgown Painting

Sexy, or scary? You decide. I think it’s mostly scary, but it’s a gorgeous painting as well, and very unique.

Alien Metal Sculpture

Looking at all this art, I am reminded of my lack of artistic talent. Anyway, look at this amazing sculpture! It’s made out of metal! And it’s made out of recycled material.

UFO Hand Embroidered Art

I love the quote on this piece, and I love how it’s made out of fabric. It’s unique in that it’s not a painting or a carving like most of the items on this list, but it’s all embroidered by hand. Very cool.

Alien on Newspaper

The last selection of the list, and a piece that I love very much.

Did you fall in love with any of this wonderful pieces? There’s tons more to dig through on Etsy, so be sure to have a look there!

30 Most Expensive Paintings of All-Time

The ScreamThe Scream

How much is a great, timeless painting worth? Exactly what someone is willing to pay for it. 9. No.5, 1948, Jackson Pollock: One of my favorite Stone Roses songs, going down, makes a reference to this painting by Pollock. His 1948 masterpiece was sold for $140 million by Geffen to David Martinez, which is $166.3 million when adjusted for inflation.

8. Nu Couche, Amedeo Modigliani: Modigliani loved painting ladies in the nude. This one from 1917-18 was sold to Liu Yiqian in 2015 for $170.4 million, which comes to $172.2 million after inflation.

3. The Card Players, Paul Cezanne: Part of a five-painting series by Cezanne from 1892-1893, it has a number of versions. One of them was sold to Qatar in 2011 for $259 million, which is an estimated $276 million when adjusted for inflation.

Top 10 Best Picture Oscar Winners

Who doesn’t love watching a good movie? There are so many great films out there, and everyone has a favorite. Each year, when the Academy Awards come around, one movie earns the award of “best picture.” You might not always agree with the choice, but the winning movie usually deserves all its praise. In this list, in honor of the upcoming Academy Awards, I’m going to pick what I think are the ten best picture Oscar winners of all time.
If you don’t see your favorite movie on the list, please leave a comment and let me know what you would have picked instead!

Titanic

In my opinion, Titanic is the greatest film ever created. I have watched it at least twenty times throughout my life, and I’m sure I’ll watch it at least twenty more times. It’s a masterpiece in acting, cinematography, music, special effects, and costume. Who can forget the tragic love story between Jack and Rose? Or the climatic scene where the ship begins to sink? Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet deliver excellent, unforgettable performances, as well as the rest of the cast. Titanic is both a beautiful romance, and an epic disaster film, bringing something for every audience member to love. If you haven’t yet watched this brilliant film, please do yourself a favor and watch it!

The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King

I wish I could include the other two films in this trilogy as well, Fellowship of the Ring, and the Two Towers. When I watch Lord of the Rings, I watch all three as one complete film. It makes for a long day, but my goodness is it always a good day when Lord of the Rings is involved. Though the other two films didn’t win best picture, I can see why Return of the King did. It has everything an amazing film can possibly offer, with some of the most memorable action sequences in cinematic history, and perhaps my favorite soundtrack. Gorgeous landscapes dot the entire film, making it almost seem as if I’m watching a painting brought to life. I could go on speaking about this movie forever.

Driving Miss Daisy

We all love Morgan Freeman, and if you haven’t seen him in this award-winning film, you’re missing out. Exploring the unlikely friendship between a white woman and a black man during the heated racist time period of the 1950s and 60s in the American South, Driving Miss Daisy is a heartwarming, touching film, showing that good can always be found.

Schindler’s List

Schindler’s List is not a film that should be watched multiple times. It’s heart-wrenching, depressing, and dark, yet it is a film that demands to be watched at least once by everyone. Shot entirely in black and white (except for one little scene that I won’t spoil) you’re first impression may be that it will be boring. That is certainly not the case. You won’t be entertained, but you won’t be able to look away from this horrific look into the lives of Jewish concentration camp victims, fighting to stay alive during the Holocaust.

The Sound of Music

“The hills are alive with the sound of music.” One of the opening lines of this warm musical, and part of one of the most unforgettable songs. None of the films on this list are quite as just plain happy as The Sound of Music is. It’s filled with so many catchy, fun songs, and an adorable love story. I can’t get enough of this lovely film, and it sure would be a good one to watch after Schindler’s List. (Both are about World War II.)

The Godfather

I honestly don’t usually like crime films, but I can appreciate The Godfather for the masterpiece it is. Marlon Brando and Al Pacino are some of the most famous names ever, and from their performances in this film, I can see why. Telling the story of a New York mafia family, The Godfather is full of action, entertainment, and family ties.

Rain Man

Tom Cruise plays a selfish, arrogant character named Charlie, while Dustin Hoffman plays his autistic brother, Raymond. When their father dies, he leaves his estate to Raymond, leading Charlie to discover the brother he didn’t know he had and begin to become a better person. It’s a touching film, and both Hoffman and Cruise deliver excellent performances.

The King’s Speech

It’s a shame this fantastic movie received an R rating for the use of the “f-word,” a few too many times. It’s not a vulgar film whatsoever, and because of its rating, many people will likely refuse to watch it. If you are one of those people, please don’t refuse. There is nothing offensive in the King’s Speech, it is all about a man attempting to overcome a speech impediment and insecurity. Colin Firth’s performance cannot be missed, for it is spectacular, as are Helena Bonham Carter’s and Geoffrey Rush’s.

Forrest Gump

I can quote probably a dozen different lines from this movie, which makes me think that it has one of the best scripts ever written. The dialogue and acting make this film the masterpiece it is, and I believe it is one of Tom Hank’s greatest performances. Numerous historical events are showcased throughout the film, placing the beloved character of Forrest Gump into them. It makes for sometimes humorous, yet also sometimes somber situations. Forrest Gump shows us that no matter who you are, love is possible to find.

A Beautiful Mind

Partly based on a true story, A Beautiful Mind is a beautiful film. When John Nash develops schizophrenia, we are taken on his journey of finding a way to deal with his crippling illness. Russell Crowe’s performances is haunting and emotional, the struggles his character must deal with seem so real and painful, it’s hard to believe Crowe himself did not suffer from schizophrenia.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and if you haven’t decided on your holiday decor, we’re here to help.

It’s quite incredible to find out just how many Thanksgiving decor accessories exist, but it really is very simply to give your home a warm, fall feeling for the holiday with just a small item or two. The options are endless, so we narrowed it down for you, giving you our selection for the perfect Thanksgiving decor ideas:

Give Thanks Thanksgiving Pillow Covers

A simple and sweet Thanksgiving gift that doesn’t scream ‘holiday season’ or something, but makes the house a bit more classy and warm. Yes, pillow covers can do that.

Funny Thanksgiving Door Hanger

Humor is a necessary addition to any Thanksgiving theme decoration. The ‘gobble till you wobble’ door hanger will help put the guests in the right mood immediately. The rest, alcohol will do.

Thanksgiving Fall Wreath

Another way of welcoming people into the house on Thanksgiving is by putting up a huge fall wreath on the door. It tends to leave an excellent lasting impression.

‘Give Thanks’ Blocks for Thanksgiving

The ‘Give Thanks’ blocks for Thanksgiving include a resin turkey, pumpkins, a bushel of apples and a haystack.

Gold & Red Leaves for Thanksgiving

A 12-foot long wire garland, with fall-like leaves made out of foil copper, in order to give that outside feeling inside the house without all the mess.

Thanksgiving Block Set

A nice little way to decorate the house for Thanksgiving, and also something to play with kids, having them spell Thanksgiving or something else while at the dinner table.

Turkey Garden Flag for Thanksgiving

A nice little way to give your garden a Thanksgiving kind of touch. Obviously, you can use this turkey flag inside as well, but something about it makes me want to place it outdoors.

Thanksgiving Autumn Leaves Quilt

Probably my favorite item on this list, this Thanksgiving autumn leaves quilt is a beautiful handmade item, which can serve as a blanket or a wonderful decorative piece on furniture or a table. It’s 50″ by 60″.

Inspirational Table Top Pumpkins for Thanksgiving

A set of 3 pumpkins to put on a table or dresser and give the home a more Thanksgiving-kind of feel, saying ‘count your blessings’, ‘give thanks’ and ‘happy fall’.

Thanksgiving Glass Lighted Pumpkin

An excellent item to decorate your home for Thanksgiving, and not just because it looks great, but because it looks expensive, even though it’s not. You can buy this battery-operated glass pumpkin for $23.68.

Thanksgiving Autumn Maple Tree Set

This set of 3 autumn trees with the golden foliage is another fantastic way of making your home look like New England in the fall, giving that extra Thanksgiving vibe during the holiday. The trees come in set of 5″, 7″, and 9″ for a variety of looks.

Colorful Thanksgiving Door Sign

If you’re wondering what to hang on the doors and windows for Thanksgiving, this 3-color sign that’s all about feeling thankful and grateful is a fantastic idea.

Thanksgiving Pumpkin Turkey Shelf Sitters

If you have some room on your shelves that needs to be filled out, these Thanksgiving pumpkin turkey shelf sitters will do the trick, although I haven’t decided if they’re creepy or sweet.

Thanksgiving Dinner Straws

A fun 25-pack of straws to make your Thanksgiving dinner table and drinks feel and look a little bit more festive. There’s no harm in that.

Thanksgiving Harvest Owls Set

Real life owls, if you ever had one as a pet, aren’t that cute. But ceramic owls on Thanksgiving? Adorable, and a perfect addition to the decorative effort in your home.

Thanksgiving LED Pumpkin

Remember the glass pumpkin from before? Well this is an even more fancy upgrade to your Thanksgiving home, taking the technology up a bit into the LED territory.

Thanksgiving Give Thanks Banner

Another nice idea to add a little something to your home without making too much of an effort is a Thanksgiving banner. Can you guess what it says? Yes, give thanks. Who would have known?

21 Gorgeous ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ Book Cover Art From Japan & Brazil

A Song of Ice and Fire, the book series Game of Thrones is based on, is written by an American author. The TV Show is an American production. However, the finest cover art for the books appears on the Japanese and Brazilian translations. Go figure.

‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ Book Covers in Japan

The books are split up into two or three parts in Japan, which gives us more characters and book covers to enjoy. The Japanese publisher got Noriko Meguro to do the book cover art manga-style, which is beautiful and also very different to how these characters seemed to me in my mind before the show came along, and obviously differs from the actors, making it even better. Tyrion looks especially gruesome, unlike his handsome counterpart in the show, adding to the difference between book Tyrion and show Tyrion. My personal favorite is Bran in the trees, but maybe it’s because he’s also my favorite character. And now, on to the art:

‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ Book Covers in Brazil

The book cover art was done by the incredible Marco Simonetti, who has done plenty of ASOIAF related work over the years. There are two covers for each book (old and new), but Simonetti has also done work for ‘A World of Ice and Fire’ and calendars for the series as well. Unlike the Japanese covers which focus on characters, Simonetti does an incredible job of depicting specific scenes or places from the universe George R.R. Martin created. On to the art:

To summarize, the art from all over the world when it comes to A Song of Ice and Fire is truly mind blowing. Now, if you still haven’t read the books, drop everything you’re doing. It doesn’t matter if you’re an avid show watcher or not. These books, if you like Fantasy (and even if you don’t), have a good chance of changing your life. You can buy the entire series box set on Amazon, or start out with the first one: A Game of Thrones.
