Some Players Reportedly Beating Diablo III in Seven Hours

We have been waiting for a long time for Diablo III. The game was launched just hours ago, but it was first announced on June 28, 2008. That’s a long time for fans to wait. Yet in another disappointing turn of events, some players are reporting that they beat the entire game in just seven hours.

One example is a group of players playing on the Korean server. In that short amount of time they beat the final boss and everything. They uploaded screenshots as proof. I won’t show them here since it is super spoilery. Supposedly, some beat the game in as little as 3 hours and some are saying 12 hours. They don’t say what difficulty mode they played on, but I have to imagine it was on “Normal” or “Easy” to finish it that quickly.

Regardless, a game with as much hype and cost as Diablo III should take a REALLY LONG time to beat. If this is really true, I guess the game is not as epic as many of us thought, which is a shame. Oh well. We have plenty of other games to play anyway.

Diablo III Launch Traffic Leaves Some Unable to Login

After years worth of delays, Blizzard finally made good on a promise and launched Diablo III today. Technically, the launch was last night at midnight. I can only imagine the hordes of gamers that took today off after waiting four years since the third installment in the franchise was announced to get their hands on it.

I can also imagine that there are some very angry gamers out there when they tried to login to play the video game for the first time only to be greeted with error messages. Blizzard has acknowledged that some users have been getting an error 37 message when they try to login to play the game. Blizzard says if you’re getting that error message just give it some time and try again.

However, once gamers are able to login you aren’t guaranteed to be able to create a character play the game. Other errors are happening during the character creation phase of the game that have caused the game to crash kicking some people back to the login screen to start over again. Presumably, once launch day traffic dies down the servers will be more stable and gamers can play.

Diablo III: Wrath Is Well Worth Six Minutes of Your Time

I hope you have your hands well rested and ready for a ton of clicking because Diablo III is only one week away, launching on May 15. Rest those hands and clean your mouse like a soldier breaking down his gun as you wait. While you wait, be sure to check out this animated short that Blizzard has released.
diablo 3 wrath

Directed by Aeon Flux creator Peter Chung, Diablo III: Wrath is a prequel to the game that focuses on the war between the angels and demons. Diablo fans are sure to love it, despite lines like “Your rage makes you powerful,” Besides what else are you going to do as you count the hours?

The cartoon is about six minutes long, and it is beautifully animated, regardless of the occasionally cheesy dialogue, so it is worth your time. Anyway soon you will be hacking and slashing to your hearts content, so in the meantime, enjoy.

Razer Naga Hex mouse gets Wraith Red edition for manic Diablo III clicking

ImageRazer looks to be the latest getting into the Diablo III-themed peripheral game with a special version of the Naga Hex, even if it won't mention the click-and-slash title by name. The Wraith Red edition keeps the same six mechanically-driven side buttons as the original, but drapes the top shell and lights in an infernal red. It's otherwise functionally similar to the Razer-green Naga Hex we had mixed feelings about last month. Gamers who like what it offers don't have to wait for Blizzard's action role-playing game to show, as it's shipping now in the US for $80 and should be ready for the rest of the world by the end of the spring.
