Google+ brings pan and scan functionality to high-res photos

Even point-and-shoot and cellphone shooters have double-digital megapixels nowadays, and Google+ is now letting you take advantage of all that resolution. It's brought photo pan and zooming capabilities, meaning that if you've uploaded a decently large photo, all that users in your circle or community will need to do is click it to bring up the lightbox, where they can proceed to explore all of an image's nooks and crannys. Since Google+ now supports full-sized Android photo backups, that'll give vacationers or artists a new way to let others discover their handiwork -- or other surprises. The Sword Skillet Won’t Slice or Dice Opponents, But It Will Fry Their Eggs

If you are looking to take up the sword, but can’t stab, slice or parry, this sword skillet might be for you. It won’t pierce flesh, but will still knock your enemy out cold if you can get close enough to hit him upside the head with it. And then after your victorious, but silly battle is over, this weapon will fry up some eggs rather nicely.

It will also cook up dragon meat like a pro, but let’s face it, you are never going to kill a dragon with this weapon, so it looks like you will be eating a lot of eggs – and not dragon’s eggs.

The Combat Skillet by Morlock Enterprises really is a functional frying pan with a hilt attached. So if you are cooking breakfast and someone suddenly attacks you, just grab the hilt and hit him in the head. Ass-kicking is served. Now back to breakfast.

The skillet is available over on Kickstarter for $45(USD), or you can also order just the handle for converting your existing frying pans for just $27. The project has already raised over $13,000 so far, which is well above its fundraising goal.

Non-aromatic Cooking?

I like the idea that Hong Ying Guo is exploring with the Purifi Pan. The concept is simple; eliminating annoying cooking fumes right at the source and converting it to a refreshing gust of air. The approach is to add an electronic purifying element straight on the pan’s rim and doing away with conventional hoods. Hopefully its detachable, to enable easy cleaning and as we can see it is suitable for different sized utensils, with a couple of tweaks and refinements, I think we’ll have a winner in our hands.
