Volkswagen’s Space Vizzion concept brings electricity to a wagon

Most automakers show off a concept that'll inspire future designs. Volkswagen has been a bit more proactive with its electric ID concepts. Nearly everything it's shown off has been followed up with a production vehicle. Although, we're still not 100...

Real Griswold Family Builds Station Wagon from National Lampoon’s Vacation

It was 1983 when National Lampoon’s Vacation arrived. That was when we met the Griswolds, a typical American family, with a bumbling dad, who loved to take road trips; journeys across the country on the open road. In the beginning of the movie, Clark Griswold buys a huge and pretty ugly station wagon for the journey, and now someone has made it for real.

The Griswold’s hideously stupid car was called the Wagon Queen Family Truckster. It was a funny comment on all of those awful faux wood-paneled station wagons of the ’70s and ’80s. The movie people built the Truckster from a 1979 Ford LTD Country Squire.

Now Steve and Lisa Griswold (I’m not kidding – that is their real last name) built a replica of the Truckster out of a 1984 Ford LTD Country Squire, and take it on road trips. Let’s hope that Steve is not as inept and bumbling as Clark. No detail has been overlooked. It even has a fake gas cap hatch where it was in the movie. Check out more here.

Ferrari FF: A Supercar That Seats Four and Has a Large Trunk

Ferraris aren’t known for seating passengers comfortably or for having storage space, but this model has all of that and more. It has seating for four, has ample trunk space, and still comes with a roaring V12 engine.

The Ferrari  fuses a shooting brake design with the supercar ethos. It has a rear-mounted 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The 6.3 liter V12 develops 651 HP and 504 lb.ft. of torque. It accelerates to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds, and can reach 124 mph in 11 seconds. Its top speed is a whopping 208 mph. It can tackle snow and more extreme weather conditions thanks to the fact that it’s a four-wheel-drive too.

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake Aerowagon: Grab Your Groceries at 190 MPH

There’s something about a nicely-designed station wagon. Maybe it’s because of all of the Audi Allroads I’ve been seeing, but they make appealing vehicles, especially if you have to lug a lot of stuff around and you don’t want a full-on SUV. That being said, if you’ve got the means, you can still go around with style and speed, thanks to the folks at Callaway Cars.

The Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake Aerowagon is based on the newly released 2014 ‘Vette, and it features are rear hatch that still manages to make the overall vehicle look quite aggressive. The body is constructed from a lightweight carbon fiber. It can still attain a top speed of 200 mph and it’s got enough room for your groceries in the back.

For now, this is just a concept, but their goal is to make this a $15,000 add-on for the 2014 Corvette. That’s actually not that bad, all things considered.
