This Cross Bladed Axe Splits Wood Fast

When you think about how long the axe has been around, it’s really amazing that no one has thought of this before – at least that I’m aware of. This invention makes the axe twice as effective and efficient at chopping wood.

Instructables member KH4 has reinvented the axe, but should it be called the cross-bladed axe or the crossed-blade axe? I have no idea.

All I know is he had the bright idea to cut an axe blade in half, then he welded the pieces to each side of another axe blade. So now when he chops wood, it splits into four pieces instead of just two. That makes for a much easier work day. It’s genius.

I wish Adventure Time had more episodes per season, because like you, I can not get enough of the land of Ooo. When there are no new episodes I guess there are always the cool toys to buy. This one is for Marceline fans. It’s a replica of her axe bass.

KLAX Multitool Turns Any Stick into an Axe

So you are out in the middle of nowhere and you just have an itch to chop down a tree or cut firewood. Aside from the fact that you have some lumberjack in your blood, you have another problem. No axe. KLAX solves this problem, by putting an axe in your pocket.

KLAX clamps onto any stick or stick-like item and turns it into a functioning axe. Now you can chop up trees all day long if you so desire. KLAX functions as an axe blade, but can also be used as a hammer head, a hex wrench set, a quarter-inch bit drive socket, a bottle opener, and a ruler. Pretty sweet. You can chop trees and finish your DIY project while having a beer.

The project has already blown through its goal on Kickstarter, so the KLAX will be available in September if all goes according to plan. It will be available in three different versions and will cost between $115(USD) to $160(USD). There’s also a titanium version in the works for a whopping $550.
