Dexter Morgan Served on a Slab – in Cake Form

Prepare your kill room. Lay down some plastic sheets and get your boat ready to ditch the evidence. You’ve got cake to eat. A cake that looks like Dexter Morgan.

To celebrate the start of the final season of Dexter, Miss Cakehead and Conjurers Kitchen created this epic cake for the guys at FOX. It is a pretty realistic and creepy Dexter Morgan head – baked to scale.

This cake shares the name of Dexter’s boat “A Slice of Life”. Get it? The entire cake started out measuring 5ft 10” long, the same height as Michael C. Hall, the actor who plays Dexter. But the rest of the kill was disposed of, presumably from the boat. The whole cake took over 100 hours to make and weighed over 105 kilograms.

It was made with 24 eggs, 25 kilograms of flour, 16 kilograms of buttercream, 18 kilograms of sugar, 20 kilograms of sugar paste and marzipan. And 20 blood oranges. An awesome cake for an awesome series. Though it should have been blood red on the inside.

Must See HDTV (June 24th – 30th)

Must See HDTV June 24th 30th

The NHL and NBA playoffs have wrapped for the year, so we're officially into summer vacation programming. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames.

Dexter
Everyone's favorite serial killer is back for an eighth and final season on Showtime this weekend. Even if you think the show itself should've been dismembered and dumped in the harbor a couple of seasons ago, it will be interesting to see if a department full of cops can finally figure out there is a killer right underneath their noses. Check after the break for a couple of trailers for the new season.
(June 30th, Showtime, 9PM)

Catfish
After a successful first season and Heisman runner-up Manti Te'o's embarassing revelation, it seems no one had a better 2012 than the makers of Catfish. Nev and crew will be pursuing an entire new slate of internet hoaxsters this season, and we doubt they'll run out anytime soon.
(June 25th, MTV, 10PM)

Lovefilm bringing Star Trek, other CBS shows to the UK and Germany

Lovefilm bringing Star Trek, other CBS shows to the UK and Germany

CBS may have teamed up with Netflix in the US to satisfy those of us with an Enterprising bent, but the company has taken a different tack in the UK and Germany. Instead, the firm has signed a deal with Lovefilm to bring CBS and Showtime-owned shows to Amazon's streaming network. The press release promises that users will be able to watch classic Star Trek, Voyager, The Good Wife, Dexter and Californication instantly, although a brief check of the UK site reveals that you may need to wait a short while more before you can immerse yourself in the Delta quadrant / Hank Moody's psyche.

Dexter Lunchbox Looks Bloody Good

Ok, so it’s officially being called a “tin tote,” but I’d totally bring my lunch to school or work in this Dexter lunchbox if I didn’t work from home.

Bif Bang Pow! will be releasing this Dexter tote just in time for San Diego Comic-Con – and for the final season of the show. It’s modeled after Dexter’s window air conditioner and even comes with a wooden slide tray and “blood” slides. It also comes with a posable 3-3/4″ tall Dexter action figure, complete with blood spattered shirt (he’d never be so sloppy), an ID badge and a camera. As a bonus, it includes a talking keychain which repeats phrases from the show.

You can pre-order the Dexter tin tote/lunchbox over at Entertainment Earth for $49.99(USD).

These Dexter-Themed Cupcakes Look Too Painful To Eat

Dexter Cupcakes

After a lengthy but much-deserved hiatus, everyone’s favorite serial killer is back for his seventh season on the small screen. Dexter isn’t afraid to shed a little blood (or, okay, make that a whole lot of blood) if he thinks that the person he’s after is guilty. And what better way to celebrate the season premiere with cupcakes that look almost too painful to eat?

New York City’s Magnolia Bakery whipped up a batch of red velvet cupcakes that are generously topped with shards of broken glass. In keeping with the theme, the cupcakes were then drizzled with pig’s blood as a finishing touch. Appetizing, isn’t it? We’re just kidding, of course. The glass is actually clear candy glass and that’s just bloody-red syrup dripping from the frosted cupcakes. Yum!

Kill Room Dexter Cake

The seventh season of Dexter premiered on September 30. I haven’t seen it yet so no spoilers in the comment section below please .

This cake was published by Reddit user gold-coin, and it has most of the known features that every self respected kill room should have, including the drug Dexter uses to numb his victims and the kill ...

Slice up this Dexter Cake Before Dexter Slices up Another Victim

Dexter returned for another season last night, and I haven’t watched it on my DVR yet – so don’t tell me what happened! The show is known for its gory kill-room scenes with its anti-hero serial killer/vigilante Dexter Morgan as he does in his victims. So for those of you with weak stomachs, this might not be for you – but if you like cake – and a little blood, then you’ll love this.

This Dexter cake was posted by redditor gold-coin. And no he didn’t make it, and yes, it’s just a basic white cake with some fake blood on it, some red sprinkles and some action figures stuck on top, but it’s still pretty creative. I especially like the plastic wrap around the victim. Nice touch. Though I think the cake needs some plastic tarps draped around its base to complete the effect. The cake was posted in response to these equally awesome Dexter-inspired cupcakes.

Now I just need some blood slide candies, and my sweet tooth will be fulfilled.
