This Slow-Feeder Dog Bowl Was Inspired by the Snow-Capped Swiss Alps

Imagine the majestic mountains of the Swiss Alps, a picturesque, awe-inspiring landscape. Imagine how you would capture and portray its natural beauty in, of all things, your dog’s food bowl. The K2 slow feeder, at first glance, looks quite similar to products in this vein. After all, many dogs are fast eaters, and pet-product developers have found a simple solution to this problem: creating ridges and slopes in their bowls that make it more difficult for a dog to scoop up mouthfuls of kibble. Functionally, the K2 slow feeder works the same way, but its standout quality is its aesthetic design, which distills the Swiss Alps’ natural beauty into a visually pleasing product.

How does the K2 slow feeder properly honor its design inspiration? In two ways. Firstly, the molds in the bowl mimic the peaks and valleys of the mountain range. Secondly, the different color schemes available for purchase – blue, green, red, and yellow – match the Alps’ landscape depending on the season. Functionally, the K2 is more than a pretty face; it works just as well as comparable products. It consists of two separate parts: the slow-feeder on top and a traditional bowl underneath. There’s also a no-skid rim on the bottom, preventing the dish from sliding as your dog attempts to dig into those hard-to-reach crevices. The product is also dishwasher safe.

There are plenty of slow-feeders available on the market, but few of them take on such a visually pleasing aesthetic. Even if your dog doesn’t appreciate the visual design choice of the K2 feeder, you – the person who has to look at it all day – will.

This dish rack holds and waters your plants for you!

There’s nothing we love more than everyday lifestyle items with a twist! And if we get to save some water along the way, and grow a few greens… well, Milan based DesignLibero’s ‘Fluidity’ allows us to do just that! Created by designer Ekaterina Shchetina, Fluidity serves a double function. A comely white dish rack by day, the multipurpose dish rack has an alter ego; it serves as a planter, or to be precise there are two built-in planters on its sides. Fluidity is designed in such a way that the run-off water from the freshly washed dishes trickles down to the roots of the plants, irrigating and nourishing them. The base, thanks to its fluid form, allows the water to be directed to the plant containers. Perforated at the bottom, the containers are filled with clay pellets and coconut fiber, to control the water environment of the plants and to keep the drainer base free from water residue.

Taking into account ‘smart’ designs and space-saving, DesignLibero has come up with a mini-masterpiece allowing us to grow fresh herbs, while our dishes water them! With the hectic and frantic lives, we live today and our busy schedules consuming all our time, Fluidity enables us to add some greenery to our little kitchen, helping us to cultivate a small garden with minimum effort!  Minimalistic and compact, Fluidity is a perfect fit for our bustling kitchens!

Literally a ‘PET’ bottle!

leaf_water_dispenser_1

Simple and elegant, the Leaf transforms any plastic bottle you may have lying around into a doggy drinking apparatus. Perfect for those dog walks, the Leaf retrofits onto any regular PET (PolyEthylene Terephthalate) bottle with the standard 28mm diameter threaded neck. Made out of food grade silicone, the leaf wraps around the bottle, and when flipped over (dog-eared, if you will), becomes a bowl for your dog to drink water from. The cupped leaf along with the reinforcing silicone veins give the dog a vessel to drink out of. Once done, the leaf can be folded back to wrap around the bottle. The leaf can also aid in easy bottle filling by acting as a funnel!
