Neoperl_Mikado_Aerator

The new Mikado aerator turns your water stream into a total eye-catcher when washing your hands! Its extraordinary, grid-like spray pattern is formed by individual water jets and creates a surprisingly clear and harmonious effect in its delicate design idiom. Not only visually alluring, it’s also a unique tactile experience as the force of the jets ranges from pleasantly soft to vigorously massaging. Better yet, this new aerator allows real water and energy savings using PCA technology which ensures a flow rate of ~0.5 gpm (approx. 1.9 l/min) virtually regardless of pressure fluctuations.

Water clever Idea!

free_will_water_purifier_1

There’s something charming about Free Will. Oh, where are my manners? Meet Free Will, a water purifier with a difference. What’s the difference, you say? The dispensing mechanism. It takes cues from rotary-lever type faucets. Pull the faucet forward to get the water flowing. The further you pull, the stronger the water flow. Tilt the faucet to the right or left to determine the temperature of the water. The faucet’s glowing tip will, with its adorable demeanor, light up to show you whether the water being dispensed is cold or hot. Now isn’t that just simply fabulous?

Free Will won the highly coveted Red Dot Award for the year 2015.

May the Faucet be with you

puro_faucet_1

Poor joke aside, there’s something unique about this faucet. Yes, the BB-8-esque water dispensing unit is the first thing you notice. The metal faucet has two jaws that hold together an activated charcoal water-dispensing ball. This ball almost instantly purifies the water by absorbing all the impurities. The ball can be easily swapped when you notice the water purity level dropping. I imagine it also rotates to an extent inside the ball-socket joint type assembly. Why shouldn’t washing your hands be interesting and fun!?

A Faucet Your Face Will Love

spray_01

The Spray Faucet features an innovative spraying function in which a continuous soft spray of water is released that can be conveniently used for a more comfortable face-washing experience. Better yet, it saves three-quarters the amount of water normally used.

The gentle spraying of water increases the comfort and convenience of washing the face. The design incorporates two outlets – one that releases comfortable spray water upwards and another that releases bubble water downwards. The height of the handle is 60mm (three times that of conventional faucets) which means that the faucet can swing flexibly. This makes it super-easy to wash the face and hair.

For environmental savings, the faucet can rotate 90-degrees and will shut down automatically when turned at a 45-degree angle. Using environmentally friendly lead-free copper with double plating, along with a high-temperature-baked varnish, it is highly corrosive resistant as well as safe and non-toxic.

Shower Power!

Untitled-3

Imagine humans had no idea of what a faucet or shower was. What it did, how it evolved over the years. Now imagine in today’s day and age, someone designed the first faucet/showerhead. That’s what Daphne is. It’s unusually brilliant with its Dyson-esque shape and appeal. Tripling up as a shower, handshower, and a faucet, Daphne does a brilliant job as all three, going as far as using its own form to its advantage. Sure to be the coolest thing in your entire house!

Daphne was an Honorable Mention at the Red Dot Design Awards 2015.

Hands-free Washing like Never Before

hudor8

Almost unrecognizable as a water fixture, the Hudōr Faucet incorporates a system that allows the user a “hands-free washing experience” by integrating a motion detector, an easily replaceable liquid soap dispenser and a bacteria disinfectant black light. Unlike the predictable faucet and basin combination, the Hudōr changes the perception of hand sanitation entirely. The faucet’s unusual design focuses on simplicity, while blending queues from Audi’s automotive ethos of harmonious quality assurance and technology integration.

The object utilizes carbon composites that act as a shell for the main base of the mixer. The circular ring component, consists of tempered glass, which incases two aluminium rings. Both of which have a specific function. One of these rings, houses several spouts, which produce soft jets of water in various directions. The other ring houses a black light, which is used to sterilize/ sanitize the users hands of bacteria while they’re being washed. A small infrared motion sensor is located at the base of the spout ring, which detects motion from the user, engaging and disengaging the water jets. An easily accessible liquid soap dispenser is located at the rest of the housing. This is infused with the water as it escapes from the various spouts. A simplified temperature adjustment rail is situated in the front of the base.

H2O Enlightenment

The Enliten Tap has 3 revolutionary features that together help reduce user’s overall water consumption. The first is an integrated induction heating system that is capable of providing instantaneous hot water and varying degrees of cooler water- this means less water wasted from waiting. An RGB LED illuminates the water flow to match temperature so users can SEE temp before feeling it. Lastly, an LCD screen creates animated patterns that are harmonious in low water use and more distressed on full blast.

The Touch-less Tap

Are you one of those people who hates touching the faucet after you’ve washed your hands? Mind you, it’s a little OCD, but totally makes sense consider those handles are riddled with germs! The Timing Tap was designed for you. Unlike older models of push-button timed taps, this design’s digital display allows you to set the running duration  and even gives you a countdown of how long you have left to get rinsed. It’s cleaner, water-saving genius!

A new way to drink water

Why should a faucet for drinking water look the same as the faucet in your bathroom or garden? Here’s a defiant and different design for a faucet meant to celebrate water as the ‘Elixir of Life’.

Designer Seungwoo Kim takes an avant-garde design approach to create a truly unique faucet, bespoke for drinking. I personally like the way the faucet visually creates a shield around the water. Don’t you?

Swirl Faucet: Down the Drain with Style

We take stuff like faucets for granted and we tend not to think about how well designed they could be. Probably because most are so boring. Well, the Swirl faucet isn’t boring at all.

Swirl Faucetzoom in

The Swirl Faucet features a system of tiny turbines that causes water to come out in a swirling lattice consisting of many jets of water. It looks awesome. Using this faucet would be fun since those jets are beautiful to look at. However this design goes beyond just aesthetics. The swirling function is also designed to reduce water consumption by 15%.

Sadly we can’t buy it yet since it is a design concept by London-based designer Simin Qiu. Maybe one day soon though.
