Great Scott! Watch an Artist Sculpt a Tiny Doc Brown Sculpture from Scratch

Juliana Lepine makes all kinds of intricate figurines from clay, and it’s always a treat to watch her create new life out of nothing. She usually starts with a skeleton and builds the face right on top like a forensics genius. In the video below she makes one of her coolest creations yet. Doc Emmett Brown from Back to the Future.

First she puts some eyes on the skeleton, then adds a bit of skin and that’s when the sculpting magic begins. Doc Brown comes to life before our very eyes. The she builds his body with some wire and a skeleton. There are also some layers of foil and masking tape. After that she adds the skin and sculpts it to perfection. And since you can’t have Doc Brown running around naked with Marty, she dresses him up in some screen-accurate clothing.

The level of detail that she puts into each handmade piece is just incredible. I mean, just look at his sneakers alone. She even gave him his remote control accessory. When it is all done, we have a droolworthy sculpture that any fan would pay dearly to own and add to their collection.

Fools Paradise Wolfool X Figure Sees Wolverine Taking a Much Needed Arcade Break

Last year, boutique toy maker Fools Paradise released Lowfool vs. Lowfool, a pair of figures that depicted Superman and Batman playing against each other on arcade machines. The second batch of Lowfool vs. Lowfool features an arcade legend himself: X-Men’s Wolverine.

As with the original Lowfool vs. Lowfool figures, Wolverine has a mustache and is playing a Street Fighter II parody arcade game as himself. Wolverine is bare-handed but the figure comes with his gloves, which in this incarnation holds his adamantium claws.

Fools Paradise is selling the Wolfool X figure for $255 (USD). As you can see, Logan’s opponent is not Cyclops or Sabretooth but Son Goku in his Super Saiyan 3 mode. That figure is already sold out, but of course you can find it on eBay.

Street Fighter The New Challenger Ken & Chun-Li Light Up Figures: LP+LK

Earlier this year, BigBoysToys launched its Street Fighter The New Challenger line with a kick ass Ryu figure. The toy maker has stayed busy and has since released a Ken figure and a Chun-li figure. Like Ryu, both collectibles have light up effects integrated into their respective diorama stands.

You can pre-order both figures from PlayAsia for $90 (USD) each or as a bundle for only $160. BigBoyToys said that the The New Challenger line will eventually have 12 classic Street Fighter characters “plus some secret challengers”, as well as larger stands that can fit two characters. I think it would be awesome if they made a model of the car from the bonus stage too.

Steampunk Mario: I Say Good Sir, Would You Kindly Release Our Princess?

It’s a me! Steampunk Mario. This awesome steampunk version of our favorite plumber was created by Rodrigo Marckezini. Apparently this Mario and his brother Luigi were servicing pipes back in the late 1800s.

As far as Mario figures go, this one is pretty awesome. Mario looks authentically steampunk. I just hope all of the Goombas and Koopas and Bob-ombs are all just as steampunk. I really want to play that game. Mario and Luigi are a pair of plumbers in Victorian-era London, facing off against steampunk Bowser and a whole bunch of monocled shy guys.

Yeah, that would be an awesome game. Awesome figure, Rodrigo.

Chibi Predator Figure, Enough Said

This Chibi Predator figure is awesome. It is the Hybrid Metal Figuration Scar Predator Figure from Herocross. He’s also pretty gosh darn adorable. This guy measures 5.5″ tall and is made of metallic alloys and plastic. He is the cutest Predator you will ever see.

This figure is based on Scar from Alien vs. Predator and has 20 points of articulation. If Predators looked like this and came in this size, they would be welcomed on our planet to hunt big game like squirrels and rats.

He also comes with a a lot of accessories. There’s a maskless version of the head, wrist blades, combi-sticks, plasma caster, shuriken, ceremonial dagger, and six different hands. He sells for about $100(USD). I must have this.
