If Audi Made Motorcycles

audi_r1_etron_01

As much as we wish they did, Audi doesn’t make a moto (unless you consider the fact that they own Ducati)… but if they did, you can be sure it’d have a flat torque curve, and silently creep across red lines! Just like this concept: the Audi R1 e-tron.

Truth be told, I didn’t love it until I saw it up against some other members of the Audi fleet. As time went on, it began to look like a natural addition to the family, albeit a smaller one. Aesthetically, the shape is quite similar to other e-bikes, but it’s the details set it apart. Side body flares, a barely-there cowl-less seat, ultra-thin instrument cluster panel, three tiered front lighting, and side lights that change with the driving mode. What stands out the most, however, is a colored monocoque frame that seems to keep that big battery’d body in tact.

A Battle-ready Beast

basiani_01

The Basiani, named after an infamous 13th century Georgian battle, is a modern wartime beast. It’s designed to carry 6 soldiers through urban and trail environments safely using active intelligence and defense systems.

Its primary feature is a raising/lowering upper cabin that offers soldiers inside a panoramic view of their surroundings through a horizontal window. Under attack, the cabin can lower to narrow the opening and protect the team inside.

The O shaped iPod?

Own a PC? What shape is the play button on iTunes? What about the jogdial on the classic iPod? Circular. You’ll notice the circle has a rather recurring role in music. Whether it’s in the shape of the amphitheatre, or that hole in your guitar, the circle has a connect with music that goes a long way back, and hasn’t been forgotten even in this digital age of music. The conceptual iPod Shuffle aims at celebrating that relationship, with its circular design.

The new design puts the jogdial around the screen, giving you a UI that goes a good 3mm beyond the screen’s touch surface. A circular screen usually is an interface nightmare, but the shuffle does a good job of creating a good looking product with a good interface. Plus, I can’t tell you how glad I am to see that headphone jack!!

iPhone 7, iPhone Shmeven

iphone_0

Just a few months and counting until the iPhone 7 is unveiled! A lot of concepts are floating around with guesses about new camera tech, an updated headphone jack, the introduction of a a 4-incher, and more… but designer Giorgi Tedoradze’s prediction is that it’ll be exactly the same! With everyone else expecting major innovations that is, in a sense, thinking outside the box. One difference we’re happy to see in this future iPhone 7 concept is a return of the smooth back! Many of us felt the plastic wrapping lines felt very, ahem… “post-Jobs,” if you will. Other than that, it’s not a bit different which will make fans of the current model very happy!

Putting the E in Vespa

Vespa_Plus_ES_0

The Vespa Plus ES aims to provide a more economical, ecological solution in the scooter market by introducing all-electric power and other modern enhancements. At first glance it looks largely similar to the iconic petrol-powered designs most of us are familiar with, but a closer look reveals an recessed LED lighting system and removable touch-screen user interface that can be synced externally to monitor and process energy consumption as well as diagnostics. For supplemental power it also features a braking energy recovery system – a feature never before seen on Vespa models let alone other scooters!

Six Is A Sexy Number

Just add a nine…like sixty-nine…okie enough of my naughty banter now. Back to the point of the HTC Six, a concept phone that is super slim and features an elegant silhouette. Stirring the emotions of “vintage”, the design language on this concept is retro modern.
The specs are detailed on the images, so let’s just appreciate the beautiful lines for now.
