Magic Candy Factory’s 3D Gummi Candy Printer

Who needs Willy Wonka when we live in an age where we can 3D print our own candy? It won’t be long before we are making our own everlasting gobstoppers as well as other candy creations that were once strictly the domain of Wonka himself. For instance, we can now 3D print gummi candy. Oh yeah!

Check out this video of the Magic Candy Factory 3D gummi printer. It is capable of printing 15-20 gram gummy candies in 3 to 10 minutes using 10 different colors and flavors. It can print some pretty intricate patterns. Now we can have gummi anything we want!

I’m actually glad that old Willy is not around to see this. I feel kind of sad for the guy. All of his sorcery and magic are now available off the shelf.

Make Your Own LEGO Brick Gummi Candies, Then Build Your Candy Kingdom

If you ever wondered how to make your own gummi candy that looks like LEGO, this is your lucky day. There is an Instructable created by SFHandyman showing you how to make gummi LEGO bricks and minifigs. They look delicious. They even sort of stick together for building.

It doesn’t look all that difficult and it’s a fun project. I say go for it. The great thing about a project like this is that even if you mess up, you still get to eat it all in the end. Here are some example gummi LEGO that were posted by The King of Random, Grant Thompson:

These gummi candies are super pretty. You almost don’t want to eat them. I said almost. There’s no way these would last long.

Gummi Bear Chandelier: Light up, Then Eat up!

I think gummi bears are totally addictive. Give me a bag, and I’ll start by eating one or two, and then 10 minutes later, the whole thing is gone. So when I saw this gummi bear chandelier, I started drooling at its sugary possibilities.

The chandelier was designed by artist Kevin Champeny, and is made from 3,000 tiny gummi bears. Now, the bad part. They’re not actual candies. They’re made from acrylic. Damn. While I suppose that means the chandelier will last much longer, acrylic is definitely not as tasty as sugar, gelatin, and the other things you find in actual gummis.

On the plus side, the chandelier features gummi bear colors you don’t normally find, like blue, purple and pink. Haribo, you better get to work on those now. Purple Jelly Bellies are my favorite, so I can only imagine how good purple gummi bears would taste.

The gummi bear chandelier is a special piece Champeny created for Jellio, where it can be custom-ordered for $2400(USD) in an 18″ version, and $6500 in a 31″ version. If your pockets aren’t that deep you can always grab one of their larger-than-life GummiLights, for just $60.
