Oppo N1 will have a Snapdragon 800 to go with its swappable camera system (Update: not the N1)

Oppo N1 flashes its Snapdragon 800 as exec leaks logic board pic

Oppo's N1 smartphone has been sitting on our watch list ever since we first got wind of its strange N-Lens camera add-ons, which will apparently offer a choice of zooms up to 15x. Now we can flesh out another key spec: the Chinese handset will run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 processor, which should more than cope with its equally unusual dual touch inputs and possibly help it to rival other imaging-centric Androids like the Galaxy S4 Zoom and Sony's upcoming Honami. The HSPA+ Snapdragon processor (MSM8274) was shown on a photo of the N1's internals that was "leaked" by an Oppo marketing staffer on Sina Weibo -- and unless we're horribly, horribly mistaken, the photo also seems to show a microSD slot to store all those optically stabilized, 16-megapixel images. Barring other significant pseudo-leaks, you can expect the next big N1 update on September 23rd.

Update: Oops! Oppo just reached out to us to say that the N1 doesn't actually use the Snapdragon 800. Looking back at the original Sina Weibo post, the leakster only said "large screen, flagship" and not "N1," so perhaps this is actually the rumoured Find 7 instead?

Oppo reveals more about N1’s backside touch as pics leak out

Image

Buttons and trackpads on the back of mobile devices? It's becoming a trend. Oppo has revealed that users will be able to scroll, double click and long press with the backside touch feature of the forthcoming Oppo N1. Apparently it'll be possible to swipe through pages (or change songs), activate and control the camera or bind the actions to other apps as you see fit. At the same time, the N1's chassis has been snapped in this rather beautifully composed rumorgram shot, so you can see exactly what you'll be reaching around when this unit gets an official announcement in September.

Oppo teases N1 smartphone launch in September, promises backside touch

Oppo teases N1 smartphone with September launch, backside touch

Oppo may have already confirmed the existence of its N-Lens series devices, but it's offering us a few more details through official teasers for the line's inaugural smartphone, the N1. While the posts show little of the handset in question, they point to both a September launch and backside touch input. It's also clear that the N1 is important to Oppo -- a timeline (pictured after the break) positions the phone as a spiritual successor to last year's Find 5 flagship. With the unveiling just weeks away, we won't have to wait long to get the full story.

Polk Audio Xbox N1 sound bar and 133t gaming headphones eyes-on

Image

Polk's at E3 showing off two new devices it's showing off at E3 this week that aren't half bad looking. Granted, they're not as slick as some of the higher end products the audio company has shown off in the past, but as far as gaming-centric devices go, they're not too shabby. According to the company, Microsoft approached it specifically to create peripherals for the Xbox, leading Polk to give the world the 133t Gaming Headphones and N1 sound bar.

The 133ts eschew the standard external gaming mic for a little nub that juts out from one ear. To mute it, you just click it back up inside the cup. The headphones also feature a mixer that plugs directly into the controller to help eliminate cords and lets you adjust sound settings on the fly. The Surroundbar, meanwhile, was designed specifically with the Xbox in mind, featuring four modes: Racer, FPS, Music and Cinema, so you can switch between gaming and standard media consumption. The N1 is set for a fall release, with the 133t coming some time in Q4. More info in a press release after the break.

The Outdoor Kitchen

N1 Kitchen System is intended for the outdoors but can be fitted into a compact home. The whole unit just shuts-shop and fits into a storage container for easy transportation. The kitchen features the three basic elements – the sink and prep area, the storage unit and the stove system; keeping it really simple and bare.

Features:

  • Designed within the kitchen’s prep area is a self-proportioning cutting board that visually divides the board’s surface, up to 6 times, and weighs each division for equal portions.
  • Inspired by x-rays, the storage system uses smart glass to visually reveal food quantities.
  • As food is consumed the surface’s opacity changes.
  • The stove system gets rid of knobs that may break in the outdoors and uses the turning of the stove’s pot to change the temperature.
  • As the pot turns and aligns with the different stove’s burners, it changes the temperature from boiling water to low, medium and high.
  • The stove’s burner has a groove, which the pot turns in to avoid being knocked around in the outdoors and to maintain efficiency.
