Reebok x Ghostbusters ‘Ghost Smashers’ Sneakers

Because ghosts need busting and you’re just the person for the job, Reebok and the Ghostbusters franchise have collaborated to release these $150 Ghost Smashers sneakers. Obviously, I must have them and will throw a temper-tantrum when they sell out before I can get my hands on, and feet into a pair.

Available when the clock strikes Halloween (midnight, October 31st), the sneakers feature a distressed look with two Velcro straps (my favorite), the Ghostbusters logo on the tongue, as well as a green ‘Reebok Pump’ pack on the back of the shoe, with hoses leading into the shoe. They aren’t actual Reebok Pumps though – the pack is entirely cosmetic. And, having owned a pair of Reebok Pumps in the past and been entirely underwhelmed with their pumping performance, I’m okay with that.

It’s really a shame they weren’t available before Halloween because, although not canon Ghostbusters footwear, I still would have worn them with the rest of my Egon costume while I sit at home alone this year, throwing candy to the trick-or-treaters outside from my living room window. Hey – out of the flower bed, Princess Elsa! That goes for you too, Spider-Man!

If you want to bust some ghosts, you need the right equipment. And now you can get it. That’s because Anovos recently unveiled their official Ghostbusters Proton Pack Kit.

The kit features everything you need, but sadly it has no mini-nuclear reactor. With this kit you can build your very own official Proton Pack prop. This is a movie quality replica. Sure, you have to build it yourself, but isn’t that what the Ghostbusters did too?

Some other features include:

  • Proton Pack shell is constructed of fiberglass with internal metal armature
  • Components are made from polyurethane, PVC, and ABS plastic
  • Neutrino Wand attaches to pack with metal bracket
  • Working toggle switches and buttons on wand
  • Vinyl decal set is included
  • Glues, paint, and tools, are not included and assembly is required
  • Assembly instructions to be provided via PDF download
  • Proton Pack frame and straps can be purchased separately

The proton pack will cost you $600(USD), and you can pre-order it now. It looks like it’s worth it since the details look spot-on. This will be a great tribute to a classic flick.

My Little Proton Pack: Ghostbusting is Magic

What happens when you combine the chattiness of Pinky Pie with Ghostbusters? You get this awesomely cute My Little Pony proton pack. It won’t capture ghosts, but it will turn that frown upside down.

This comes from a friend of Judson Hudson who loves to cosplay as a Ghostbuster and Pinkie Pie. An odd combination, but a winning one for little girls and Bronies. This custom proton pack lights up and plays all kinds of sounds.

In fact, just like Pinkie Pie, it seems like it is hard to shut this thing up. Check out the video for all of the sounds this thing does.
