Smalt: A Salt Shaker Bluetooth Speaker

Today we have all kind of gadgets that pull double duty, but a salt shaker that is also a bluetooth speaker? Yeah, that exists. Obviously playing Salt and Pepa is mandatory. This product is pushing it. Pushing it real good!


This thing is called “Smalt.” Its makers are calling it a “smart centerpiece,” but it’s unclear what it does that makes it intelligent in any way. As far as I can tell, it’s a Bluetooth-enabled salt shaker with a color-changing mood light and speakers.

There’s another smalt problem: Don’t you want pepper on your table too? Smalt is coming soon to Indiegogo. Do you care?

The Salt-bae Shaker!

He’s clearly 2017’s meme of the year! The Turkish chef took everyone by storm with the way he salted his meat steak with dripping swag. The Pinch salt and pepper shakers are designed to be gripped in a similar fashion, as compared to the way we grip regular salt and pepper shakers. These shakers pay tribute to the classic way of sprinkling a ‘pinch’ of salt on your food, but we can’t help but reference Salt Bae! Now it’s stuck in your heads too!

Salt ‘n Pepper for Dummies

Sometimes the simplest of objects can cause unnecessary confusion. That’s the sentiment behind this twist on the salt and pepper shaker. Think about how many times we sprinkle a bit in our hand before applying to make sure we’ve got the right spice. The set is named “Obvious” for their straightforward approach to making each of the contents immediately apparent to the user. Each shaker uses text, color and a sliver size window to indicate its purpose and to make life just a little sprinkle easier!

A Healthy Lifestyle in a Lamp!

It sounds strange to me too, but the Ambion lamps are genuinely therapeutic. We spend a large part of our lives indoors, built around a lifestyle that isn’t natural to us, and most people believe that this disconnect from the outdoors and from nature is the result of most ailments. Cancer being one of them.

Ambion is a series of lamps that help negate the effects of our artificial lifestlye. Crafted from Himalayan salt crystals that date back as far as 250 million years ago, these beautifully designed lamps look more like modern products, rather than the natural, therapeutic devices they are. The salt crystals are known to emit negative ions, which do wonders for our health by purifying our air of all sorts of toxins, and even making us feel relaxed and stress free. Plus, the ambient orange light emitted from these lamps create the perfect zen-vironment! (Yes. That’s my word now!)

As I said earlier, the Ambion lamps don’t look like they belong in a spa. Seamlessly integrating natural therapy with contemporary design, the Ambion lamps are a brilliant example of fusion, not just in philosophy, but in its visual style too! I personally think they look otherworldly. And I love it!!
