Halloween is right around the corner, and this is a great trick to go with all of the treats this year. The Crazy Russian Hacker has found the perfect party special effect in this combination. Watch as he ads dry ice to a bowl of green slime. You can tell that he is having way too much fun with this experiment.

Basically the slime slow down the release of gas from the dry ice. This creates nice round bubbles that you can even pick up sometimes. There are also some really cool vents and eruptions that happen. It’s pretty awesome.

Dragon Quest Slime Hourglass: It’s About Time Somebody Made This

Perhaps one of the most iconic creatures in the history of video games is Dragon Quest’s bulbous, smiley-faced Slime. I always thought he looked like a giant blue Hershey’s Kiss, or one half of an hourglass. The latter has just been made into a thing.

The guys at Square Enix have designed this awesome Slime timer which counts down about three minutes – which is just about right for cooking instant noodles. It measures about 4 inches-tall, and will come in either blue slime/sand or metallic slime/sand.

The Slime hourglass sells for ¥2200 (~$22 USD) over at the Square Enix e-STORE, and will ship later this month. Meanwhile, I’m still waiting for Slime candies.

Thousands of Mysterious Purple Spheres Discovered in the Desert

In Tucson, Arizona, locals have discovered a strange collection of purple spheres in the middle of the desert. It’s not yet certain what these spheres are, but analyses are being made to ascertain their exact nature.

Geraldine Vargas and her husband were taking a walk when they came upon the spheres. Some of the spheres were watery while others were translucent. When poked, they let out a watery substance. Some scientists have speculated that the spheres could be a slime mold or jelly fungus. It’s also possible that it’s a man-made product for plant hydration.

One thing is for sure, these spheres aren’t from outer space as some have theorized. They were localized and seemed to ooze out of the ground.

Dragon Quest Slime Keyboard Has Funnest Function Keys Ever

Fans of the DragonQuest series will immediately recognize the little blue blobs along the top of this keyboard as the game’s iconic Slime. Can you think of a more awesome looking keyboard?

dragon quest slime keyboard

This Slime-topped keyboard is actually designed specifically for playing DragonQuest X when it hits the Nintendo Wii, and has a number of specially marked keys to help you play the game. Plus, the little Slime guys can be popped off the function keys if you so desire. I don’t. I want them to stay right where they are, lest they turn into toys for the cat or choking hazards for children.

It’s made by Hori of Japan, and will sell for ¥3,980 (~$50 USD) when it goes on sale this August. It’s not clear if the keyboard will work with a PC or Mac, though, as I’d happily replace my current computer keyboard with one if it does. I really want a keyboard with a smiling Space Bar and Enter key.
