RC Shrek The Swamp Engine: Move Over, Thomas!

Inspired by the DreamWorks movies (and presumably at least one fever dream), YouTube channel Studson Studio decided to build a Shrek-themed R/C tank engine. In the video, Studson takes us all aboard for the entire locomotive journey, steaming along from concept to the very last stop. Those were a bunch of train references in case you didn’t notice.

The train’s powerhouse is a small R/C car, and its Shrek head is from a PEZ dispenser, but the rest of the train is constructed almost entirely out of found objects, including a toilet paper holder for the boiler, wooden coffee stirrers, Pogs for the wheels, thumbtacks for the bumpers, and broken sticks. The final result is most impressive, and would undoubtedly give Thomas the Tank Engine a run for his money hauling terrified train cars.

Some people are just so talented. It’s a shame I didn’t get any of that talent. I’m only really good at starting projects, getting frustrated with the way they’re going, and abandoning them half-finished. Oh — and breaking things. I’m also great at breaking things.

Walking RC Flamethrower: Thomas the Tank Engine of Death

I’ve never watched Thomas the Tank Engine, but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t involve a hellish, six-legged walking train terrorizing people with a flamethrower. It really should though, because this is awesome.

This insane custom creation was built by Peter Sripol, who envisions the character as some nightmare out of Mad Max. He started with a robot hexapod that had the ability to launch tiny foam discs, but he soon made it better with an awesome upgrade. He maxed out the electronics, servos, and motors inside, then added a custom-built miniature flamethrower, because why not?

The video shows off the entire build process, but if you just want to cut to the chase, skip ahead to about the 8:00 mark:

This thing genuinely looks terrifying. Don’t try this at home kids.

Fallout 4 Mod Puts Something Worse than a Deathclaw in the Game

In Fallout 4, It never fails that right after I jump over to my favorite settlement, strip out of my power armor, and use the last of my aluminum and adhesive to repair my battle damage, I run into a Deathclaw. Deathclaws will make your sphincter pucker and are among the hardest of enemies to kill in the game.

What if a Deathclaw wasn’t the scariest thing in Fallout 4? What if there was something scarier than say a mini nuke carrying Super Mutant riding on the back of a Deathclaw?

Now there is, all you need to do is download and install this mod. It’s pure, shiny evil. Toot…Toot…

Post-Apocalyptic Thomas the Tank Engine by Y Nakajima

Post-Apocalyptic Thomas the Tank Engine by Y Nakajima

For those who know Thomas the Tank Engine as the cute headliner of Thomas & Friends or The Railway Series, this Post-Apocalyptic version of him created by Japanese sculptor Y Nakajima will come as quite the surprise.

Nakajima doesn’t just turn Thomas into a scary looking war machine that would fit well in the Fallout universe or resemble that spider thing from Wild Wild West. He gives him a new backstory that seems to be a combination of creativeness and a slightly dark/twisted mind, often something creative people are blessed with.

Nakajima created a toy that is mobile and works on remote control, with a body that can rotate and even more impressive, shoots lasers! It’s capable of shooting a 300 mW lasers that’s capable of popping balloons or igniting matches. He used water-based acrylic paint to give it this unique, rusty, worn out look.

Nakajima used to work for the prestigious sculpture studio of Takayuki Takeya. Now he’s on his own, focusing on making models of soldiers, vehicles and monsters, often giving them some sort of nightmarish or spooky twist, which has us all intrigued about his creations.

Skyrim Mod Turns Dragons into Thomas the Tank Engine

When my son was really small he loved trains and watched Thomas the Tank Engine a lot. He loved the oddly animated train and his pals. I always found Thomas more than a bit creepy. If you ever thought that Thomas might be plotting to kill and take over the world, then I have the Skyrim mod for you.

I love the first time you see Thomas in the video. He swoops in and lands atop the tower with dust puffing out. I think he was meant to burn cities and capture souls, what about you? You can fast forward to about 2:00 in the video to bypass the wait and see Thomas the Terror for yourself.
