B.E. Is A Powered Toothbrush That Doesn’t Require Electricity With One Major Flaw

Look, I know that powering your toothbrush is a problem that has never crossed your mind, but stick with me here and I’ll get us through this. I’ll crack some jokes, it’ll be great.

Imagine a toothbrush with a rotating head for a deeper clean, that never uses electricity. Sounds too amazing to be true? Well, don’t call me a liar, and check out the B.E. toothbrush. It’s a powered toothbrush that converts kinetic energy to its brushing head to become a powered brush.

You power it by rotating the base dial of the unit, which stores the wound-up energy and converts it into its rotating brush head. Just like a wind-up toy car! Simply rotate the dial before each use and the B.E. brush gives you 2 minutes of teeth-cleaning action. You can even switch off the mechanism and save that kinetic energy for its next use, like rollover minutes for your cellphone.

One thing to note is that the mechanism can only support up to 120g of force against it, which sounds rather light to be honest. They sort-of promote it as a feature to stop you from brushing too hard, but’s its more likely a limitation of the mechanism. So press just a bit too hard and the brush won’t move. Honestly, that’s kind of deal breaker when you’re talking about a $49-$99 toothbrush.

Anyway, it’s available on Kickstarter starting at $49 for the early birds, and moving up to $89 and $99 for everyone else. Though this is one campaign that has limited availability on all tiers.

A Tailless Toothbrush

smart_toothbrush_01

Notice anything different about this toothbrush setup?! Hint: it’s not about what you see… it’s about what you don’t. This smart twist on the electric toothbrush ditches the power cord to keep your limited bathroom real estate clean and clear of any cumbersome cables!

Unlike the wired dock of many existing electric models, this features one that you plug directly into the outlet. It’s designed to support the brush unit and keep it upright, elevated, and out of the way. The result is extra counter space that’s easier to clean and a more polished look that’s cable-free!

The no-paste-waste brush!

squeeze_toothbrush_1

How simply convenient! The Squeeze toothbrush by Kevin Clarridge allows you to extract every bit of toothpaste from that dang tube… because if you can’t design a better tube, design a better toothbrush!

Changing a toothpaste tube is a massive market exercise because toothpastes are heavily tied with brands, and no brand really has the eagerness to experiment with something that works (the if-it-ain’t-broke syndrome). The Squeeze toothbrush however provides a rather wonderful solution. With its peg-like base, it allows you to manually steamroll each and every ounce of toothpaste from your tube. The toothbrush comes in two components, so you can retain the base and just switch the bristled top every couple of months! What’s more, the peg-shaped base even helps to dock the toothbrush on the rim of any tumbler, or on a line, need be.

The Zippo of toothbrushes

I don’t smoke, but I find Zippo’s lighters really charming. They just look so cool, the way you flip them open with one hand while looking undeniably cool (smoking isn’t cool though).

Banale’s travel toothbrush has swag of similar proportions, but instead of nurturing a tobacco habit, it keeps your teeth clean and your mouth fresh! The kit is roughly the size of a lighter, and comes in an absolutely delicious set of color combinations. Flip the lid open and resting inside is a tiny toothbrush, and a small pump activated bottle that holds your toothpaste. Just slide the toothbrush out while working the pump and you’re set to brush them pearly whites! Quirky, convenient, and just adorably different!

When Braun made a toothbrush

superklar_1

In a way, Oral B and Braun are a match made in heaven. They both push boundaries innovation, creating products that aren’t just functionally superior, they’re the most popular brands in their domain. So when I see the SuperKlar, a toothbrush concept with Oral-B’s bristle technology, and Braun’s prowess in electronic personal care products, I’m breaking the bank!

The SuperKlar comes as a complete kit that takes care of your teeth with signature efficiency and dedication. The electric toothbrush comes with a holder that can get plugged directly into a socket. This allows you to wall-mount the toothbrush + stand without really wall-mounting anything! It even comes with a horizontal screen that tells you the time (because bathrooms desperately need clocks). Another nifty bit in the design is the fact that the cover case for the toothbrush actually doubles down as a tumbler to use while brushing. Now if that isn’t some clever designing right there, kindly fax me an explanation of what is!
