This Toothbrush Machine Is Both Parts Genius AND Terrifying

Redditor simsalapim built The Toothbrush Machine. It’s a robot that brushes your teeth! But only the front ones aka the only ones that matter. Molars are overrated! Simsalapim even provides a tutorial on how to make your own over at Instructables. I mean, if you trust the robot to only brush your teeth and not, […]

Chocolate Toothpaste: Brush with Dessert

If only we could have had chocolate toothpaste when I was a kid. Well, the important thing is that they have it now. Theodent has a new line of fluoride-free, chocolate-flavored toothpaste. And this chocolate flavor isn’t just a novelty.

Theodent’s toothpaste formula contains a patented substance that is actually obtained from the cacao plant that gives it its chocolatey flavor. It’s called rennou, and don’t worry, it is safe to eat. Naturally, you want something safe in a chocolate toothpaste, because kids are going to be tempted to gulp this stuff down when they brush.

Theodent Classic is only $10, while the extra-strength version Theodent 300 is priced at a wallet-busting $100 a tube. Damn, those are dentist prices.

Chocolate Toothpaste: Have Dessert, Brush, and Have Dessert Again

Theodent Chocolate Toothpaste

Remember how you wished that chocolate-flavored toothpaste existed back when you were still a kid? Well, you might have grown several feet since then but now Theodent has made that wish come true with their new line of fluoride-free, chocolate-flavored toothpaste. This probably isn’t the first time someone decided to make toothpaste that made it seem like you were brushing chocolate all over your teeth, but Theodent is different in the sense that the chocolate flavor isn’t there just for novelty’s sake.

Rather, it’s there because of Theodent’s toothpaste formulation that contains a patented substance obtained from the cacao plant that gives it its distinctive chocolatey flavor. It’s called rennou, and it’s non-toxic and safe-to-ingest (although you probably shouldn’t squeeze it and eat it right out of the tube), so you won’t have to worry about kids accidentally ingesting it while brushing.

Theodent Classic is sold at $10, while the extra-strength variant Theodent 300 is priced at a whopping $100.

Origami-Based Concept Toothpaste Tube Looks Cool, Doesn’t Seem Practical

3027711-slide-all-640x508

Believe it or not, there’s an entire segment of society that obsesses over the optimal mechanics of toothpaste tube emptying. It’s generally accepted that rolling up the tube from below is good, but squeezing it in the middle haphazardly not so much. But design student Nicole Pannuzzo’s idea is interesting, if not seemingly practical. It’s inspired by the art of origami and is said to collapse smoothly and elegantly. It does also look look sort of cool for a toothpaste tube. But alas it’s also over-engineered and will likely leave a good amount of paste even when it’s fully collapsed. And no, there are no plans to make this commercially available but good on Nicole for displaying some creativity.

Nihilist Toothpaste: All Paste, No Flavor!

Toothpaste comes in a lot of kinds, colors, and flavors. There’s gel toothpaste (shouldn’t they be calling it toothgel?), toothpaste with a trio of colors, mouthwash-infused toothpaste, toothpaste with whitening beads and glittery bits, and so on and so forth.

But if you live a minimalist life and want to do the same with your toothpaste, then here’s a viable option for you: Nihilist Toothpaste.

Nihilist

It’s a brand spankin’ new toothpaste without any frills. It’s advertised as having no color and no flavor, so if you’re not a fan of all the colored and flavored toothpaste out there, then this is the one you should go for.
