Star Wars Villains as Kids

attachment

Even villains used to be kids, and before they wanted to rule galaxies, control civilization, eat people, hunt them down or simply become galactic renowned mobsters, they were simply small people, odd looking kids, only looking to make friends and have fun. Star Wars villains are no different.

Star Wars Chewbacca, Wicket, and Wampa Laplander Hats

laplander star wars hats Star Wars Chewbacca, Wicket, and Wampa Laplander Hats
The Force is strong with these Star Wars laplander hats, arriving just in time for Summer (unless you’re one of this site’s many wonderful Southern Hemisphere readers, in which case- perfect timing). Each plush hat has ear flaps to keep you nice and warm during those cold Hoth Winters. Comes in three of the most awesome characters in the Star Wars universe- Chewy, Wicket the Ewok, and my favorite- the Wampa. Rest assured that no actual Wampas (Wampum? lol) were hurt in the making of these hats.

Hoth Cave Cake: Cut the Cake, Then Cut off a Wampa’s Arm

One of my favorite scenes from The Empire Strikes Back is when Luke gets captured by the Wampa and is hanging upside-down from the ceiling of his icy cave. He then uses the Force to pull his lightsaber towards his hand, then slices himself down from the ceiling and proceeds to slash off one of the furry creature’s arms. Here’s that scene, recreated in CAKE form. What’s not to like?

wampa cake 1

The Planet Hoth Wampa Cake was created by Jill from Kitchen Fun with My 3 Sons to celebrate her son’s 6th birthday. I sure hope that he knows what a wampa is at his age, so he can fully appreciate its awesomeness. The cake perfectly captures the Wampa’s ice cave, replacing the frozen bits with cookie frosting and white chocolate. The walls of the lair are made primarily from pretzel rods and graham crackers, with a cake forming the floor. Yum, I like sweet and salty together.

While Luke, his lightsaber and the wampa are just off-the-shelf action figures, it still looks great – though I would have liked to chomp on a bit of wampa arm if given the opportunity.

Severed Wampa Arm Cake

In terms of esoteric minutiae in science fiction cinema as translated to the edible form, the Severed Wampa Arm Cake really takes the…. wait for it… cake. Not only is this Star Wars cake pretty accurate looking, it’s sounds pretty freakin’ delicious.

That’s the guava jelly filling substituting for Wampa blood. The Wampa’s fur is actually coconut and his fingernails are Nestle Crunch Crisp bars. JustJenn has the complete recipe if you’d like to duplicate this at home, which is definitely easier (and tastier) than traveling all the way to Hoth, being entrapped by a Wampa and hung upside down in an ice cave, and having to use the Force to retrieve your lightsaber before using it to cut off his arm and escape. Then again, if you’re a disaster in the kitchen, the Hoth option might just be easier.
