Googly Eye Push Pins Have Got Their Eyes on You

Do you know what makes everything better? Googly eyes, that’s what. Simply slap some of these puppies onto any item, and it gives them instant personality. While you could just buy a bunch of sticky googly eyes and start gluing them to things, I think these push pins are a better idea.

Archie McPhee’s goofy Googly Eye Push Pins are a great addition to any memo board, and let you give every single item on your cubicle wall the eyeballs it deserves. I suppose you could even use them to embellish fruit and veggies as they did with that strawberry, but then you’ll want to eat it pretty soon so it doesn’t spoil from those extra holes you punched into its face. But can you really snack on something once you’ve bestowed it with the gift of vision?

If you’re ready to start slapping eyeballs on every last thing in sight, head over to Amazon (affiliate link) and grab a set of 25 of these suckers. I do find it strange that these come in an odd number. I guess you’re gonna have a cyclops or a three-eyed monster somewhere on your wall.

Why putting googly eyes on robots makes them inherently less threatening

At the start of 2019, supermarket chain Giant Food Stores announced it would begin operating customer assisting robots -- collectively dubbed Marty -- in 172 locations across the East Coast. These autonomous machines may navigate their respective sto...

Googly-eyed Robots Are Coming to Grocery Stores

Pay no attention to the robots that want to wipe out humanity and enslave any survivors. Instead be distracted by this silly looking googly-eyed robot. Isn’t he adorable? Giant Food Stores, a supermarket chain popular in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia, will soon getting some silly looking robots in their stores. Within six months time, each of the 172 supermarkets will be working with these robots who are each called “Marty.”

Giant’s parent company, Ahold Delhaize USA, based in the Netherlands, also owns Martin’s and Stop & Shop locations, hence the name. These stores will also be getting robots, so Marty is going to show up in 500 locations all told. My question is this: How long until someone paints one of these so that it looks like that hot dog from Sausage Party? Because that’s what it kinda looks like already.

Each Marty will alert humans to problems spills or other trip hazards with voice warnings. What else can it do? I have no idea, but I’m sure that small kids will grab onto it and go for rides until it eventually tips over, crushing someone while its googly eyes go crazy. They’ll have no choice but to take it out back and put it down at that point. Sad really.

Play Doh Poop Troop

Before we even get into it, let me make this clear- yes this is a real actual legit official product that you can buy now and not some joke concept or Photoshop job. That said, Play Doh has finally gotten their sh!t together and realized that kids are going to be turning their product into little poops anyway so they might as well sell a set that capitalizes on that. The Play Doh Poop Troop Set encourages kids to play with poop. It’s a set of 12 cans of various poop and “poop” colored Play Doh along with enough accessories to humanize the play feces as if they’re little Mr. Pooptato Heads.

Has Play Doh gone too far with this or is it pure genius? Maybe it’s both. Sure, kids of all ages love the poop emoji but there’s a difference between any other product and something like Play Doh which is pretty similar looking to ACTUAL POOP. Possibly hijinks may ensure BUT kids are going to freakin’ love this. Kids love Play Doh. Kids love googly eyes. Kids love poop. The math just adds up (1 and 1 and 1 is 3, source: The Beatles), so we’re calling this one a winner.
