This Bertone Stratos Zero makeover is destined for street legal racing mania!

Lancia Stratos is an iconic car that keeps pushing the imagination of automotive concepts for its sheer timeless proportions and the styling that was way ahead of its time. The ride’s masculinity and that hint of metrosexual character make it popular among enthusiasts to date, and for a good reason. The Bertone-designed Stratos Zero further escalated the car’s face value a notch higher. Decades have passed, but the edgy four-wheeler is still alive in the subconscious of automotive enthusiasts like Shane Baxley. Having his feet deep in the Hollywood community (his work features in movies like Captain Marvel and The Predator), Shane is creative in designing automotive concepts.

His latest work is the Bertone Stratos Bax – a remake of the Bertone Stratos Zero in an upbeat modern makeover that’s utterly desirable. Renders of Baxley’s latest concept are jaw-dropping, as I already want to open the gull-winged doors of this beastly supercar and drive it on the open roads. He has contoured the ride’s ultra-sharp edges just at the right places in the right proportions to give it that hot appeal. The flowing design and the fat tires with the hollowed-out rim lend it a very street-legal racer DNA, ready for any challenger on the other side of the lane!

The Bertone Stratos Bax manages to retain the classic ride’s boxy appearance, but with a makeover that takes it to another level as far as the modern aesthetics are concerned. This design alone demonstrates Baxley’s prowess in penning down designs that any automotive manufacturer would dream of achieving, and this Stratos has got me sold high and dry, wanting so desperately to feel it in real life!

This Red Skull-inspired car loaded with a turret is worthy of Captain America’s arch-enemy !

German concept designer Daniel Simon has made a name for himself in Hollywood thanks to his ingenious creativity when it comes to designing jaw-dropping future automotive designs for the infamous villains or world savior heroes – the likes of Captain America and Tron-Legacy. With names like Lamborghini, Volkswagen Group, and Bugatti in his portfolio – Daniel no doubt is an inspiration for budding automotive designers.

Encho Enchev who’s a concept designer and a 3D senior artist at Ubisoft got inspired by Daniel Simon’s V16 Hydra Schmidt Roadster featured in Captain America. The bold design that would inspire any adult to have villainous inspirations, was driven by Johann Schmidt (a.k.a. Red Skull) who turned to be Captain America’s worst nightmare. The car in the movie is portrayed to be the work of the Red Skull who’s a member of the Hydra terrorist group, and apparently had access to alien technology, giving rise to this one heck of a ride. Alright coming back to Encho’s version of the Red Skull car concept, the vehicle is sportier and shrunk down in length. The designer has imagined it to be a badass vehicle with a signature turret mounted at the front to fire bullets at any apparent threat without second thoughts. He has gone on to create some more versions of this beastly car wherein another bigger tank-like turret, side-mounted turret, and tank treads for a warzone situation. Anything that crosses its path will burn down like fallen leaves and in all likelihood, it has a bulletproof shell protecting it from retaliating bullets, pellets, or even grenades.

This radical version of the Red Skull’s vehicle of choice has a very dictatorial vibe (quite understandably) to it and one that you would want in your car collection in real-life. For now, it is just a concept car – however, in real life, it would have some serious deep-pocketed takers. Just imagine this one driving past you on the road, won’t that make your day?

Inspired by inspired by the Ferrari Berlinetta, this hair-raising EV is the peak of the past + present automotive design language

The exotic cars of the 1960s and 1970s were quite sharp in their design – so much so that you cut literally cut a paper with them (of course that’s a metaphorical statement). Designers back in that era fancied angular shapes and that had an influence in the automotive industry too. The common consensus was that the future cars were going to be pretty pointy and elongated. Concept supercars as well as production vehicles had a semblance of that definitive angular character – giving the four-wheelers a distinct charm.

The new breed of supercars might not be that pointy in their looks but still, they have that angular character – the likes of Lamborghini Veneno. Merging the past with the current future of automotive design, artist Ash Thorp and automotive CGI artist colorsponge have joined forces to create a unique concept EV that balances out the best of both worlds. They call it Evinetta, and it’s inspired by the 1970’s Ferrari Berlinetta concept car designed by Pininfarina. The stunning race car is envisioned to be driven by the Tesla Model S powertrain and an active ride suspension. Other bits of the car are adapted from the Porsche RSR – the interior in particular.

Truly this concept EV has influences of the past and the present, giving-off a very vibe that’s hard to compare. The aerodynamic design flowing from the low front to the beefy rear, makes Evinetta seem perfectly tailored for high-speed tracks, like it’s going to cut through the air and propel forward like a rocket-powered drag racer. Those fat wheels sandwiching the large motor, also reassure of superior control and grip on the corners, and the CGI movie that the duo have put together portrays it perfectly.

Ex-Lamborghini designer designs a Jeep Vangler-inspired Overlanding van tailored for extreme jungle safaris!

Remember the Jeep Forward Control light commercial vehicle introduced way back in 1956, that in a way revolutionized the commercial transportation scenario in America? If you see the glimpses of the Jeep Forward Control in this dapper vehicle – that’s only natural. Designed by Germany-based Samir Sadikhov who’s had considerate experience at Lamborghini, Genisis and Rezvani, the Overlanding capable vehicle christened Jeep Vangler looks absolutely stunning and is perfect for an extreme jungle safari.

Most of all it’s not an outrageously radical design that looks good on paper but when one thinks of practicality it falls flat on the face. Samir’s design is essentially a Jeep Wrangler inspired van that’s created to take on any terrain and for people who like open-air adventures. Since it has the genome of the Forward Control, the hood has been chopped off, and has an even boxier profile than the Wrangler. The chunkier tires, a row of fog lights, and winch at the front – all assure its off-roading capabilities. To spice up things the designer has envisioned a more traditional van-like design and yet another that has a more safari vehicle like feel thanks to the glass-less rail doors. Both these iterations have plenty of space on the roof basket to haul your belongings for a long adventure trip, so you can carry as much load as you intend to on the Vangler.

By the look of things, the vehicle seems to have an independent suspension system, loads of ground clearance and penned to be an electric drivetrain since the hood is virtually non-existent. So the only option would be to have an electric drivetrain on the floor with battery storage on the rear or on the floor itself. The stunning off-road van looks good for an adventure trip with your family since it can accommodate 7-9 people as there are three rows of seating. Vangler puts up a strong case for automotive manufacturers (Jeep in particular) to give this design a serious thought, and there’s even extended possibility with Samir’s design to be converted into a campervan, now that would get anybody excited won’t it?

The iconic DeLorean DMC-12 car gets resurrected as an off-roading mean machine!

The very mention of the iconic DeLorean DMC-12 makes you excited – no matter if it is the classic one or a modern reinterpretation. Making a mark in the “Back to the Future” trilogy, the car will celebrate its 40th anniversary this month, ever since it was first rolled off the production lines on January 21, 1981. The sports car (as described in that era) has been hot property ever since its launch and will continue to do so. Automotive fanatics like to tinker around with the appearance of this iconic four-wheeler in their own ways, and this time around the DeLorean DMC-12 has got a mean off-roading avatar.

Los Angeles-based concept artist BradBuilds has turned the DeLorean into a rugged off-road vehicle, and boy does it look impressive or what. To give it a tactical advantage on tough terrain the suspension has been elongated and lifted while the wheel arches have been trimmed. To make sure the vital mechanical components of the car don’t get damaged by sharp rocks or stones, the undercarriage has got crash protection. To complement this setup, the DeLorean DMC-12 gets a fat set of wheels embellished in all-terrain tires. To keep the movie theme alive, BradBuilds has retained Doc Brown’s reactor and the rear cooling fins. If you look closely, the concept car also retains the external wiring and hoses configuration.

The time-traveling element has also not been ignored in the off-road build. The Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor and the acclaimed flux capacitor show up in the design too. Other than that the DeLorean DMC-12 gets subtle off-roading elements for that definitive off-roading character and a mean profile. According to BradBuilds the car has a semblance of the AMC Eagle vibe and I don’t disagree!

Acura Allure – a hourglass-shaped sports car that morphs into a comfy futuristic lounge

In the near future, ownership will see a transition towards emotional interaction with materialistic things. Likewise, shared mobility will be dominated by emotional engagement with their cars, therefore the design of the vehicles needs to be such that promotes emotional connection. According to transport design student Sung Nak Lee that opens up the possibilities for brands to go for automotive designs that enhance the whole experience with flexible interiors that allow for selective configuration. As a part of his Honda Internship, Sung has penned an autonomous vehicle that morphs from a performance-oriented single-seat sports car to a two-seated autonomous vehicle that comes with a lounge-like configuration.

Dubbed the Acura Allure, this hourglass-shaped electric four-wheeler has a very low profile, just like that of a supercar. The wide configuration gives the opportunity on the inside to have ample space to lounge two passengers in ultra-comfort for emotional connection. Then on some other day when you feel like, the outer halves of the rear seats detach and join into one to form a driver seat for high-speed driving to connect with the pure performance of your Acura Allure. This clever use of interior space leaves a lot of room for a comfortable ride on a long journey.

The aerodynamic shape rising from the front to the rear of the EV combined with the active aero wing and diffuser gives it that needed performance boost for high-speed driving. Truly Acura Allure is a nice blend of performance, styling and emotional connect with the owner. A sneak peek into the future of mobility enhanced by such cars.

DeLorean DMC-12 rises like a phoenix, as the Gull-Winged DeLorean 2021!

The iconic DeLorean DMC-12 will rise like a phoenix come Fall 2021 after a lull of nearly four decades. The only thing that’s skeptical – we don’t know what it is going to look like. Will it have the nostalgic old school design that so many of us love, or is it going to surprise us with a modern look fused with the classic aesthetics? The star of the Back to the Future series is going to shine again, without a doubt. To fuel our imagination and prep us all for the 2021 DeLorean DMC-12, designer Ángel Guerra has awe-inspired automotive design with his version of the DeLorean 2021. He summed up the motivation for this concept in his words – “This is a thank you to an icon and a movie that marked my childhood. This is, too, a new DeLorean for my son’s generation.”

As his tribute to the iconic design, Ángel has mustered up this super dope DeLorean for the 40th anniversary of the brand that captured the imagination of an entire generation. The gull-winged car has a lot of character – making it look nothing shy of a supercar of the current generation. Nothing is overdone and every little edge or curve seems well-thought-out. Perhaps, it comes from his culmination of childhood dreams and the subconscious desire to own a DeLorean one day. In fact, his automotive design journey was triggered by the dream-like cars of the 80s and the designs of the following decades.

His DeLorean 2021 concept looks like an amalgam of Lamborghini from the rear and front with hints of Aston Martin Vanquish in certain elements. Then there are these unique trim borders on the sides, over the Albero color of the cobblestone and the deep blue of the Guadalquivir river, smoothly flowing to the front, and the big rear diffusers. The gull-winged doors are absolutely dope – igniting the desire to jump right inside this badass racer boasting all-black interiors. Boy! If this is what the upcoming DeLorean can manage to look like – it will inspire generations to come. Not to mention the countless automotive fans who’ll want to park this baby in their see-through garage. The only question that’s pondering in my mind – can it take actual flight?

Dodge Challenger Hellcat Hearse Gets You to the Grave on Time

Have you ever gotten stuck in traffic behind a funeral procession? Those things move so slowly. Perhaps they’d move faster if the hearse had more horsepower. Something like a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, with its 700+ horses, should do the trick.

Artist Rain Prisk came up with this awesome concept design for a Challenger Hellcat Hearse, with its rear end extended to make room for your dearly departed and their casket. If a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi engine wasn’t enough to motivate this thing to the cemetery, it’s got a sleek, streamlined roof design that should definitely cut down on aerodynamic drag. Funerals are normally such quiet and somber affairs. There’s zero doubt that the Hellcat’s impressive exhaust note would perk up those in attendance.

Amazing concept, Rain! If you ever manage to convince Dodge to build one of these, I’d like to book my advance reservation now, so I can travel to my final resting place the same way I drove while I was alive.
