Alien Cookbook Has Edible Xenomorph Eggs, Facehuggers, Chestbursters, and Queens

Thanks in large part to the genius designs of the late H.R. Giger, the Alien universe is filled with some of the creepiest creatures and environments in the history of science fiction. You wouldn’t want to encounter a xenomorph at any of its life stages, let alone have one staring you in the face on your dinner plate. But here we are, it’s 2021, and we have an Alien Cookbook.

Chris-Rachael Oseland (aka the Kitchen Overlord), who also wrote an unofficial Doctor Who cookbook and an unofficial Hobbit cookbook, has gone 100% legit with this officially licensed Alien Cookbook. The book is filled with 50 Alien-inspired recipes, each based on a phase of the creature’s lifecycle. Inside its pages, you’ll find ideas for tasty but gory egg dishes, like avocado and bacon stuffed deviled Alien tea eggs, disturbing party snacks like a Facehugger cheeseball with a pull-apart body, and a red pepper quiche with a sausage Chestburster. Finish your evening with Alien Queens made from eggplant, blackened chicken wings, or chocolate-coated bananas for dessert.

The Official Alien Cookbook is available from Amazon (affiliate link) for about $29. If you were looking for ideas for your Halloween dinner party, look no further.

The Ultimate Final Fantasy XIV Cookbook: Chowderbringers

After years of playing second fiddle, Final Fantasy XIV seems poised to finally take the crown from World of Warcraft as the premiere MMORPG. Discussing the many reasons behind WoW’s fall from grace will leave a bad taste in our mouths, so let’s talk about something that could put great food in our bellies instead. The Ultimate Final Fantasy XIV Cookbook features over 70 recipes for dishes and drinks from FF XIV, waiting for real-world Culinarians to craft them in real life.

The hardcover book was created by Victoria Rosenthal, whom you may know from her geeky cooking blog Pixelated Provisions. You can read more about how she wrote this book – including creating characters in FF XIV for the book’s narrators – in one of her posts. Naturally, she has Square Enix’s blessing, complete with a foreword from the game’s beloved director, Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida.

Okay now make an alchemy book, Square Enix. You can pre-order the cookbook from Square Enix for $35 (USD). It’s also available on Amazon (affiliate link).

The Elder Scrolls Cookbook: I Used to Be a Chef Until I Took an Arrow to the Knee

I loved Skyrim. It was a fun game and I had a great time exploring the world. But after a while, all you had to do to beat the game was use fire in one hand and ice in the other. So while it was entertaining, it could have been more challenging. Regardless, I would love to sample some of the cooking from the game. Sadly, we aren’t there yet with our replicator technology. Fortunately, this cookbook should help.

If you’re a big fan of the Elder Scrolls series like I am, you can now cook up some fancy dinners and treats from Skyrim, Morrowind, and Tamriel with the new official Elder Scrolls cookbook. You immersed yourself in the game, now immerse yourself in the cuisine.

Sample the diverse cuisines of the Nords, Bosmer, Khajit, and more. This book has over sixty delicious recipes, including Sunlight Souffle, Water of Life, Leek and Cheese Crostata, Imperial Mushroom Sauce, Saltrice Porridge and many many more.

Make a meal fit for a Dragonborn. If your mouth is already watering at the prospect, order yourself a copy right now. It’s just $22 over on Amazon, and will start shipping on 3/26/19.

Fallout: The Vault Dweller’s Official Cookbook: Really Nuke Your Lunch

Fans of the Fallout games know all about the food in the game. But have you ever thought that the grub looked really edible? I can’t imagine that, but maybe you have. There’s no accounting for taste. If you think the food in Fallout looks delicious, I have the perfect book for you.

You can now preorder the Fallout Vault Dweller’s Cookbook. Author Victoria Rosenthal’s book teaches you to make things like a bowl of BlamCo Mac & Cheese, Mystery Meat-Wrapped Nukalurk, and more. The Fallout-themed ingredients are substituted for things from our world, of course. Brahmin ribs are short ribs, etc. And I’m not sure, but Radroach meat? That’s probably SPAM or something equally disgusting.

Enjoy all of the delicacies of Fallout in the comfort of your own vault. Now with less radiation. I can’t wait to try the Mirelurk Egg Omelette, or throw some Deathclaw meat on the grill. How about Mutant Mantis Marsala, Dandy Boy Apples or Baked Bloatfly? It all sounds lovely.

No matter which recipes you try, they will be far tastier than the ones from the game. Deathclaw meat has got to be nasty. Anyway, cook yourself up a Fallout meal, fire up the game and enjoy yourself.

World of Warcraft Cookbook is for Hungry Gamers

This fall, gamers will be able to get your mitts on the official World of Warcraft cookbook from Simon & Schuster. Written by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel, the book features real world interpretations of food that players might see in the game. Along with sweets, main dishes, and desserts, the book also has some drinks to enjoy.

Some recipes are weird – like Honey-Spiced Lichen, which are actually baked kale leaves that you dip in salsa. One of the stranger recipes will be a hard one to make and it is called Ironforge Rations. This recipe calls for canned haggis. I can’t say that I have ever seen canned haggis in stores in the States, but then again I have never really went looking for it.

Pokemon Cookbook Lands in December: ‘Beetus, I Choose You!

We love seeing weird foods around here, even if we are too squeamish to eat most of them. If you are a fan of weird food and Pokémon, we have a book that you will want to put on your Christmas list this year. The book is called Pokémon Cooking, at least as far as we can tell since the title is in Japanese with some English on the side.

I hope that the recipes inside are available in English, since it’s launching here presumably we will be able to read it. The book officially launches December 6 and will have recipes for a Poke Ball sushi roll, Pikachu-style ramen, and mashed Meowth potatoes, among other delicacies.
