Knock Knock. Who’s There? Ping Pong Door.

Let’s say that you want to have a ping pong table, but you just don’t have enough room in your home. What do you do? One option is to put half a ping pong table in your room and half outside of it with this awesome Ping Pong door.

Your doorbell will say ping pong instead of ding dong and you will be able to play despite not having much room. Tobias Fränzel, a product and furniture designer in Berlin, came up with the idea. It’s a functional interior door and then swivels into place to serve (pun intended) as a ping pong table.

Just flip it down, attach the net, and you are ready to play.

Opening a lot of doors

Ever tried operating a door handle with occupied hands? Nightmare! No matter what you use, your elbow, feet, mouth, you’re never going to get it open till someone has some mercy and opens it for you. The Joystick door handle throws light on how inaccessible conventional door knobs/handles are for the disabled. The new design just needs a nudge in any direction to unlock the door. We’re just one door away from a more inclusive, well designed world!

PullClean Sanitizes Your Hands as You Open the Door

Proper hygiene is key to decreasing the spread of diseases. It’s applicable for everyone, but it’s especially true for those working in hospitals and research labs. Cue the PullClean, a door handle with a built-in sanitizer dispenser so people can sanitize their hands as they walk past it or pull on it to get to another room.

The PullClean comes with some smart features too, thanks to the CountClean software which monitors sanitizing rates and keeps track of the level of sanitizer left in the dispenser.

Hospital-acquired infections have become a big issue so it makes sense to have something in place to at least prevent or decrease those rates of infection. The PullClean handle will go on sale later this year, and can reserve your own now for $200(USD).

Behind Locked Doors

Has it ever crossed your mind that someone can easily steal your electronic door passcode? Shit happens! More often than not, gullible people end up as victims and the wicked score another win. The Pattern Door Lock is designed in a way that the code combination is not easily visible. With Braille integrated, the locking system adds a layer of security and functionality to the whole setup. PullClean: Pull to Clean Your Hands

PullClean

How often do you wash your hands in a day? Most people are uncertain, but one thing’s for sure: we use our hands a lot. To write, move stuff, open doors, pick something up from the floor, or eat chips– and not necessarily in that order. Who knows, you might be eating grime from the floor with each and every chip that you’re feeding yourself.

Then along came PullClean. It’s a door handle with built-in sanitizer dispensers so you can sanitize your hand each time you pass by or leave the room. Before you write it off as being a mere dispenser, it comes with the Countclean software which takes note of sanitizing rates and the level of sanitizer left in the dispenser.

Interested? You can reserve a PullClean system for $200 here.

Every Traveler Needs One: Travel Door Stop Alarm

Travel Door Stop Alarm

Traveling on a budget shouldn’t mean having to compromise your security. Unfortunately, going for the cheaper hotel sometimes means outdated locks or alarm systems. Although this isn’t always the case, it’s better to be safe than to be sorry, and that’s where this handy dandy travel door stop alarm comes in.

It’s a portable alarm that you can jam under the door for some extra security. If or when someone attempts to enter your room, it will emit a 120-db alarm to let you (and the whole building) know that there’s an intruder at the door.

Aside from travel, you could also use it on any other door, whether it’s your dorm room or apartment or office. It retails for about $8.

In Case Of Emergency – Break Door

The X-gate addresses one of the biggest situations faced in the aftermath of an earthquake: entrapment. Typically, doors are heavy and main doors are dead-bolt heavy for a reason. The X-gate’s design is such that it can be shattered with ease, thus aiding rescue operations. I suppose its ideal for cities that live in the earthquake zone.

Sanitary Hand Saver

We’ve all thought about it: you use a public restroom, wash your hands and then have to touch an unsanitary doorknob to leave the restroom?! Gross. It’s no secret that not everyone who touches that doorknob is washing their hands. Ewwww. What’s the point in washing your hands anyway?! The Foot Latch was designed with this problem in mind. After you’re finished doing your business, just use your foot to unlatch the door and go on your way with fresh and clean hands!
