The trend carries over to other items, like this iFingerLock Biometric padlock. It can store up to 10 fingerprints, unlocking itself in seconds as soon as one is used. There’s no need for a computer, all the programming is done on-device. Should the 2 AAA batteries run out of power, it still stores the prints in its internal memory, while an alarm will ring when power is low to save you the hassle of having to run to the store when you’re at the gym or something. It’s a simple way to avoid having to carry a key around, or worse still, remembering a combination. It’s $94.
