Aging Never Looked So Good!
It might not be relevant to you NOW, but one day, there’s a good chance you might need a walker, my friend! The unfortunately reality is that most of today’s walkers are… well… hideous. But, just because you’re old and decrepit doesn’t mean you don’t care how you or your walker look! That’s the idea behind Iris.
The Iris walker was designed with as much style as functionality. It’s lightweight, easy to use, easy to fold, and completely practical all while having a slim silhouette, tasteful colors, and a fashionable built-in bag for any goodies you need on-the-go. Unlike those big, bulky, grey contraptions, it erases the stigma associated with aging and failing mobility.

The Grand Slam Cam
You can have a camera, you can have a gimbal. You can’t have both. Designer Kevin Clarridge begs to differ. His re-imagination of the Point and Shoot camera is quite ground-shaking, pun not intended! The handheld camera isolates the lens completely, and adds a 3 axis stabilization system to it. It is, in theory, a Point and Shoot, but in practicality, it’s just a Shoot. Designed to overcome all sorts of hurdles (physical ones too) the lens can adjust itself to focus on the target. The design, if I may add after all this technological wizardry, is quite classy too! So when’s this hitting Indiegogo, Kevin??

There’s a good reason for biometric security, since it ensures that most of your information on your devices or computer doesn’t get stolen or swiped too easily. Using your eyes as your password is the stuff of science fiction and spy movies, which is why this watch is so cool. Iritech’s FiDELYS smartwatch gets paired with your phone, and allows you to interact with incoming calls, text messages, and other functions. It also has a built-in camera that will have an iris recognition capability, meaning that you could unlock your device with your eyes, freeing your from entering a passcode. The device will also tie to your computer or smartphone, providing iris-based authentication for websites and applications. The watch offers Bluetooth Low Energy and NFC wireless support, as well as a heart rate sensor, pedometer and wireless charging. Instead of using a touchscreen, you’ll interact with the watch clicking on the outside of its bezel. The FiDELYS smartwatch will be launched through an Indiegogo crowdfunding project soon, with a pre-launch price of about $250(USD) – a $50 discount off its planned retail price. [via Digital Trends] 3D Robotics has made it pretty clearly that it's all about the maker community. But what about those who can't tell their Arduino from a Raspberry Pi? The Chris Anderson-run company today announced the release of Iris, an out-of-the-box, user-friendly quadcopter experience. The drone can be controlled with an Android device (iOS coming soon), including single button takeoffs and landings. There's an ARM Cortex-M4 processor and a built-in data radio on-board, the latter of which will help you check out flight paths in real-time. There's also a spot for a GoPro Hero3, though that, naturally, will cost you ($400) extra. The configurable copter starts at $730. It's set to ship on September 16th.
