The Opportunity

Made is looking for someone who knows how to lead and manage Industrial Product Design projects from A to Z. Because you’re a Product Designer yourself, the Industrial Design process doesn’t have any secrets from you. As a Project Lead, you know the capacities and strengths of your design team and you match them with the needs of the clients. Responsibilities

  • Analyze a demand from the client: the why, how, and what.
  • Lead & Manage Industrial Design projects. You’re a workflow guru who uses project management tools to successfully deliver projects to the market.
  • Align the team to meet the project’s needs.
  • Apply design methods that put the user first.
  • Organize and lead workshops and co-creation sessions.
  • Translate strategic insights and user-needs into concrete and relevant concepts and prototypes.

Requirements

  • A master diploma in Product development, product design, innovation management or 5 years of relevant working experience.
  • Handling project management tools that help you to keep track of the progress and budget of the projects.
  • Strategic insights: making sure that what is made is relevant and viable.
  • If needed you can help the team in 3D modeling (Solidworks), sketching, conceptualizing (Adobe Creative Suite). You’re not afraid to make a concept yourself.
  • You make crystal clear, nice-looking and to-the-point presentations and know how to present them to a C-level audience (Google Slides, Keynote, and etc.)
  • You’re aware of the state-of-art production, prototype techniques, and material properties.
  • You have a network of relevant suppliers in prototyping and production partners that you actively nurture.
  • Motivated, proactive, creative, and inspiring
  • Very good communicator
  • You are the right kind of difficult: you know when to push and when to deliver.
  • A team player
  • Fluent in English and preferably also in Dutch
  • Car license B

The Opportunity

The ideal candidate is a Product Design with experience driving consumer and furniture products from concept through production on time while championing the voice of the customer.

Responsibilities

– Support the product design process, alongside engineering, from brainstorming and concept generation through production.
– Create concept sketches and renderings to present to key stakeholders.
– Get your hands dirty making initial prototypes to verify new ideas.
– Act as a key stakeholder in developing ROOM’s product families and product roadmap.
– Cultivate a deep understanding of our customers and advocate for solutions based on their needs and pain points.
– Specify CMF (colors, materials, finish) for new products.
– Ability to synthesize an understanding of customer behavior, our brand, and market trends into a story and a product.

Requirements

– A degree in Industrial Design or an equivalent program.
–  4+ years of product design experience.
– Incredible 3D CAD Modeling Skills, especially with the surfacing. (SolidWorks strongly preferred).
– Ability to quickly create and iterate on photorealistic renderings (KeyShot, VRay, Cinema 4D, etc.)
– Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite like the back of your hand.
– Jaw-dropping portfolio with demonstrated ability to execute on tight deadlines.
– Projects ranging across a variety of materials and manufacturing processes. Furniture and textile experience is a must.
– Experience in a startup environment where you have taken ideas from conception to production.
– Uncanny ability to juggle multiple priorities and make trade-off decisions when timeline, specs and/or budget don’t align.
– Confident self-starter who is comfortable working in a changing and ambiguous environment.

While still not officially launched, the Car Thing is just one of Spotify’s many products to help deliver their music-streaming services to the best of their ability. Spotify is looking to recruit a Product Designer to help visualize their car & wearables experience.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced product designer to join our Platform & Partner Experience team who are tasked with considering how to extend our core mobile experience across multiple contexts and device ecosystems, including native desktop, tablets, web player, automobiles, wearables, televisions, speakers, software integrations, and much more.

What You’ll Do

• Be responsible for the design of Spotify’s Partner Platform Experiences; to deepen relationships between artists and fans by extending Spotify into the car via an embedded experience.
• Work with small multi-disciplinary teams made up of representatives from engineering, product, product insights, and marketing, among others.
• You will help set the tone for our partnerships (Google, Amazon, GM, etc.) and advocate for quality when it comes to the Spotify experience as it is represented on external platforms.
• Take into account existing insights, technical constraints, business needs, driver distraction guidelines and specific platform demands to produce data-informed solutions.
• You’ll take full ownership of your work and total responsibility for every last detail, every step of the way, from whiteboard sketching to high-fidelity final treatments.
• Rapidly produce multiple concepts and prototypes, understanding when deeper exploration is warranted and when it is best to change paths and try another approach.

Who You Are

• You have at least 7 years of experience designing at consumer-focused tech or media companies; experience designing in car is a plus
• You are comfortable working closely with teams from companies such as Google and Amazon.
• You’re happy to travel the world to collaborate with our international partners and can be flexible with your working hours.
• You are a talented designer with strong UX and visual design skills
• You have the communication skills to help set up frameworks and brainstorm initial design concepts. Also instrumental is the ability to • speak confidently to your own design work and convince others of your reasoning.
• You have a people-focused design mentality and want to design and build products/features that truly have meaningful impact.
