Marty McFly Power Laces coming back in 2015

We surely remember the futuristic looks of Marty McFly which were the creation of Nike MAGs back in the year 2011. This quite interesting look was brought to the feet of sneaker collectors but this...

Assassin’s Creed IV Hidden Blade Replica for Sneaky Pirates

Ahoy assassin! If you thought the Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood Hidden Blade Replica was too flamboyant, perhaps the blade’s updated version will be more to your liking. Made by McFarlane Toys, this life-size replica forgoes the shiny PVC vambrace for a simpler one made of leather. I meant leathARRRR.

As with the previous replica, you don’t have to worry about being hurt or hurting someone with the blade because it’s made of soft plastic. Todd McFarlane himself told Kotaku, “When you press the spring it actually shoots out, like a blade should. There’s a snap to it. Then you get to the end and realize you can curl the tip on it, so it’s not going to do any real damage.”

Set sail for Gamestop to pre-order the Assassin’s Creed IV Hidden Blade Replica for $40(USD). It is a rare piece of treasure, for it is one of the few remaining reminders of what an assassin used to be. Nowadays, I wouldn’t be surprised if Edward Kenway will end up having a hidden ship cannon gauntlet and neon-colored clothes.

LEGO Stephen Hawking Kit: A Small Replica of Man

Here’s something you don’t see every day: a tiny LEGO sculpture of the world famous physicist and author Stephen Hawking, complete with his wheelchair and computer. I bet there’s a Higgs boson in there too, we just can’t detect it.

Its creator, The Living Brick, calls the replica The Standard Model, after the particle physics theory of the same name. I may not have understood what I just said, but The Living Brick made sure that even I can assemble Dr. Hawking, because he included a booklet of instructions with each kit. Actually no I’m pretty sure I’ll end up losing half of the pieces.

You can order the kit from Amazon for just $40 (USD). Got LEGO? Head to Eurobricks and there you’ll find the building blocks of Dr. Hawking.

Miniature Portal Gun Replica More Affordable Than Its Larger Cousin

People are clearly in love with the game Portal. Why not? It’s a great way to spend a weekend and once you’ve contorted your brain through its mountain of puzzles, you too will likely develop an affection for its various artifacts. Just this summer we told you about Portal Turret replica. And today we’re bringing news of a smaller version of the Portal Gun that came out a while ago. It’s only 1 ft. long and weighs about 1 lb. It’s got orange and blue LEDs and emits a unique sound that corresponds to each color and it works pretty much like the gun in the game, minus the portal creating abilities. Purchase-o-mania (aka Christmas) is coming, so this could make a pretty cool gift, especially considering the “handsome, full-color gift box” it comes in. $60 will tick one box from that list of yours. It’s designed and sold by ThinkGeek, so you know it’ll be great!

3D Printed Portal Gun Doesn’t Print Portals

We’ve seen a handful of beautiful replicas of the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device, but this replica by deviantART member Melissa aka techgeekgirl is special because most of its exterior parts were 3D-printed based on files from the game itself.  Melissa even claims that it’s more detailed than NECA’s officially licensed replica. Oh snap!

Like Harrison Krix’s replica, Melissa’s gun also makes sounds and glows blue and orange.

The steampunk replica is still my favorite, but this really is very polished work. Check out Melissa’s deviantART page for more pictures.

Assassin’s Creed Tomahawk Replica: Too Legit to Play with It

You’ve got your hands – or wrist – on a replica of the hidden blade. Now pretend to be any of the Assassins from the Brotherhood. But if you’re aiming for a Connor impression, you’ll also need this: a replica of his distinctive tomahawk.

With its link-baiting name – “Assassin’s Tomahawk – Honor the Creed” – I thought that this unofficial replica would be a shabby product. Boy was I wrong. It’s actually very authentic, i.e. it’s a real freakin’ axe. It measures 17.5″, and it has a sharp steel blade and a wooden handle.

The fake leather grip, feather charm and decorations finish off the look.

Deals Only is selling the replica for $40 (USD). Remember, you can’t buy replicas of lives – not yet anyway – so be careful where you swing this.

Assassin’s Creed Hidden Blade Gauntlet Replica Can Be Yours for a Brotherly Price

You can easily find instructions to make your own Assassin’s Creed-style hidden blade, but if you don’t have the skills to put one together, check out this life-sized replica by prop maker NECA. It’s not made from steel, but I think we can all agree that that’s a plus.

The replica is based on the armored vambrace worn by the assassin so nice you played as him thrice Ezio Auditore in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. It’s made of PVC and ABS plastic, has buckle and velcro straps and a scary effective spring loaded mechanism that pops the blade out quite quickly.

Yikes. Even if it has a safety lock I’d be more comfortable if the blade was on the upper part of the gauntlet, Wolvie style. You can pre-order the replica from GameStop – where assassins shop and trade-in second hand weapons – for only $40 (USD). Reckless play will cost you a lot more than that.

Life-Size Avengers Weapons (and a Shield) Assembled out of LEGO

LEGO enthusiast and Avengers fan Ken Robichaud made replicas of some of the weapons of the Avengers using LEGO. They’re 1:1 scale, meaning he can wield them and use them for cosplay. Although because of their material it’s all too easy to go Hulk smash on them.

I think his most impressive piece is Cap’s shield, although the bow and arrow set is quite the feat too. It’s disappointing that Robichaud wasn’t able to make a LEGO Iron Man suit, but it’s not like that’s easy to make.
