The NodPod Lets You Sleep More Naturally, Brings You Stares

Do you value not looking stupid? Then please ignore anything about the NodPod. If you’ve got thicker skin than an elephant though, you stand a chance at being able to sleep comfortably just about anywhere. The NodPod is like a hammock for your face, attaching to a headrest and providing your chin with a soft resting place. It keeps your head upright, preventing it from dropping forward as you nod off. It’s a more natural angle for your neck, and might even work better than a lot of the popular travel pillows you can pick up at the airport’s overpriced shops. Plus, the cord is designed so it doesn’t cover the screen of the person behind you, should you care about such things. Other features include a velcro pocket within which to keep the cords, and a water repellant PU coated fabric to make it easy to clean for the droolers among you. There’s even a safety breakaway feature that detaches the cord if there’s a sudden pressure or impact, preventing you from getting strangled in case of an accident.

It’s a brilliant little travel companion, and at $32 is priced just right.

My girlfriend wakes up every darn morning around 3am, for a bathroom break. She’s kind enough not to turn any lights on, but I still hear her fumbling about in the dark, trying to make her way back to the bed. Do I feel sorry? No, sleep is important! But with the BedLight, we might find some compromise. It’s two 5ft strips of LEDs that you place underneath your bed, and that turn on as soon as they detect movement, and turn off after your 30s to 10 minute adjustable timer runs out. They come with all the mounting accessories, including clips to hide the cables, and can ship with either one or two sensors, depending on how many sides of your bed you need to outfit with the BedLight. Price is either $55 or $69, depending on your sensor requirement.

As far as we’re concerned nap time is pretty much all the time. It looks like we’re not alone thinking that way. British hotel chain Jurys Inn Hotel Group conducted research that showed 56% of Brits struggle to get out of bed in the morning. “Lack of sleep (42%), temperature outside the duvet (40%) and fear of the working day ahead (31%), topped the list of reasons to stay in bed.” So what better solution than to simply bring the duvet with you? The chain then teamed up with famed designer Wendy Benstead to create the Suvet, a duvet/suit hybrid. It looks amazing, will make you the envy of everyone around you on your morning commute, but sadly can’t be bought.
