Magnetic Levitating UFO Bluetooth Speaker

This is for sure one of the coolest speakers we’ve seen. It’s literally floating. Or least the top half is. If you can bet the bottom part to float too, call us, we’ve got a proposal for ya, probably not that illegal. This Levitating Bluetooth Speaker uses the magical and mysterious power of magnets (how do they work?) to make the speaker float in mid-air. Meanwhile it can also spin around like an alien carousel full of little aliens riding cows around in a circle. Why do aliens like cows so much anyway?

So the speaker, yeah, the speaker connects to your phone or whatnot (probably your phone though) via bluetooth and pumps out that bassy bass with 5W audio drivers. Feel the earth move under your feet, because this speaker won’t feel the earth at all since it’s floating. There is a rechargeable battery in there since we’ve yet to develop anything better. Perhaps some actual aliens could help us out a bit on that front? Please? We’ll give you more cows.

This speaker looks pretty sleek, and has a modern look with it’s glowing light. It’s an instant party, just like aliens like to do. Party with cows. You can also just use the UFO top part on it’s own with the base, but what fun would that be?

Bluetooth Speaker Beanie Hat with Headlamp

It’s kinda genius. Listen to music, take calls, and actually see what the heck you’re doing at the same time while not looking like a total dork wearing a headlamp in a non-camping situation? Winner. The Bluetooth Beanie Hat comes in 8 striking colors, ok some aren’t striking, maybe none of them are striking actually, but there’s 8 colors. It has both speakers and a microphone built in so you can actually have a full on conversation while you’re running, walking, or doing anything else. Or just listen to music. With volume controls right on the side of the hat. All while keep your head warm with a winter hat. Winter is coming as the kids say.

Now there’s other bluetooth beanies out there, but what sets this one apart is the LED headlamp. Sure, you look a little bit like a Minion, but not 100% like one unless you get the yellow one like the person above. And maybe that’s a good thing. The utility outweighs the style here. It’s not that bad in reality. The light is of course rechargeable, via USB. We recommend taking the hat off before charging, but you do you. No wrong way as long as you make it work people. The hat’s made of acrylic and is one size fits most. Not sure what constitutes “most”, 50% maybe? Anyone know? Anyone care? Makes a great gift, stocking stuffer, or fashion statement for dog walkers. Or all 3 at once. Hat.

Millennium Falcon Wireless Speaker

Finally you have a legitimate excuse to prominently display a model of that most glorious of all Star Wars ships in your house. The Millennium Falcon Wireless Speaker is not just a 10″ (approx) long collectible piece- it also is a bluetooth enabled speaker that streams music from up to 30 feet away. If that doesn’t send your senses into hyperdrive, then how about this back view- it lights up when it’s playing music!
millennium_falcon_speaker_back
The Force is strong with this one. The Falcon is powered by Wookiee blood and a rechargeable lithium ion battery that’s good for 8 hours of playback (or about 158 repeated playbacks of the Imperial March- yes I calculated that). It also has a microphone so you can pair it with your cellphone to use as the coolest speakerphone in the galaxy. Sweet.

Just 12 minutes of daily exposure (about the length of 3 Rolling Stones songs or 1/8th of a Phish song) should increase your energy levels and alertness. It works because “melanopsin and encephalopsin, the receptor proteins that help control these functions, are photosensitive”. Plus it looks kinda cool:

Levitating Bluetooth Speaker (Really!)

orb speaker Levitating Bluetooth Speaker (Really!)
Meet the world’s first levitating bluetooth speaker! The OM/ONE is a spherical shaped speaker measuring 3.6″ across that levitates atop a glowing base. How does it work? Magnets of course. How do magnets work? Ask ICP about that one. Anyway, it looks like something from the future. There’s a certain intrigue about things that levitate that you can’t help but be curious about. Check out this video which gives a bit of the backstory and you can see it in action floating:

The other neat thing is that you can remove the sphere and take it anywhere without the base. It has a 15 hour battery life per charge. The speaker will work with the newest Bluetooth 4.0 standard which allows you to pair 2 of them together for full stereo sound. Like most bluetooth speakers these days, it also functions as a speaker and microphone for conference calling and other uses with your smartphone. How cool would this be sitting in the middle of the table in your conference room? Or living room. A post-modern piece of technology that’s also a conversation piece. You can order the OM/ONE for $179 each.

DIY Coconut Speakers

coconut speakers DIY Coconut Speakers
Here’s a pretty cool DIY project. This Instructable shows you how to create this really fine looking speaker using some coconut shells and an old set of computer speakers. In a nutshell (or should I say coconut shell), what was done was to simply replace the plastic casing with a coconut casing.
coconut speaker DIY Coconut Speakers
Just hacksaw your coconut so the opening fits the size of the speaker grill. Drill a hole in the back for the wire to pass through. To get that sleek look you need to sand your coconut until it’s smooth, or you could leave it looking rough like something out of Gilligan’s Island. Then you glue the speaker into the opening, cut a small piece of bamboo for the base, and you’re done. Easy as that.

Attack of the Rebel Bass

rebel bass Attack of the Rebel Bass
Yo Chewy drop the bass, I’m about to take a rockin’ (Han) solo. If this Falcon’s rockin’, Storm Troopers are sure to come a’knockin’. UK based luthier Doni Custom Guitars specializes in building guitars with a twist. Like his signature Rebel Bass made from a Millennium Falcon (a toy, not the real one). But the bass guitar is no toy, it’s a legit instrument. Take a look inside:
inside falcon bass Attack of the Rebel Bass
She may not look like much, but she’s got it where it counts, kid. He has made multiple versions of this bass, with varying headstock designs ranging from Han Solo to this Chewbacca one:
chewy headstock Attack of the Rebel Bass
But wait, that’s not all. As long as they’re adding electronics to the Falcon to convert it to an electric bass, why not make the whole thing light up like it’s about to enter hyperspace on it’s way to doing the Kessel Run in under 12 parsecs?
rebel bass lit up 650x636 Attack of the Rebel Bass
Really cool. While each Rebel Bass is unique, it’s not a one-off design, so I’m sure Doni would be glad to make one for anyone who needs an instrument for their personal Cantina Band.
