World’s Smallest Flying Robot’s First Flight

The previous summer an experiment took place at Harvard that was to have long-lasting consequences. A very minute robotic insect was invented that hovered in the air via its minuscule wings and...

Self Defense Night Stand Provides All-Around Bedside Protection

Self Defense Night Stand

It’s important to have protection by your bedside. Not that kind of protection, in case that’s what you’re thinking. What I mean is protection for physical attacks from burglars who want to rob you dry when you’re at your most defenseless. You could get a gun, a stun gun, or stock up your bedside drawer with pepper spray.

Or you can skip the bullets and go for brute force with the Self Defense Night Stand. It’s a bedside table where the base is actually a baseball bat, and where the flat surface is actually a shield. It’s a regular old bedside table the rest of the time when all is well and good.

The way I see it, this dual-purpose table is like a cross between a novelty and something that you can actually use. While the shield might be sufficient when your attacker is only armed with a knife, you might need more than just wood to defend against a gun.

Bat to the Bone

Without a doubt, Bat to the Bone is sure to make you look like the most badass batter on the field. It’s a great conversation starter that will leave the rival team shaking in their cleats! It’s polyurethane, but just tell em’ it came from the last pitcher’s arm.

Levitating Mouse

Although currently in its testing stage and researching the market, I’d love to jump the gun and get my hands on the BAT – Levitating Wireless Computer Mouse. The story behind its development is the obvious culprit – Carpal tunnel syndrome; but I’d much rather get it for its awesomeness. The concept consists of a base (mouse pad) and floating mouse with magnet ring. I think it looks very cool and will definitely be a hit with my ilk.

Robotic Bat Wing Developed: Where Does He Get All Those Wonderful Toys?

This robotic bat wing was developed by Wayne Enterprises – I mean Brown University. Because you need a wing if you want to build a bat. In fact, you need two. Right now, it is just a wing, but with this wing they can learn more about the aerodynamics of bat wings and how bat flight works.

The wing isn’t identical to the natural wing of the lesser dog-faced bat that it is based on, but close enough for studying how they work.Check out the video to see it in action.

Whatever mad creation they intend to spring on the world, it will have bat wings and probably suck our blood. Thankfully, they haven’t gotten that far yet. They can put it on a real bat later just for laughs. Or maybe a rat. Or an octopus. That would be horrifying.
