Transformers Masterpiece Edition MP-44 Optimus Prime is Perfectly ’80s

Growing up, all I wanted in the world for one of my birthdays was an Optimus Prime Transformer. I got it even though it was like $20 back then, which seemed like $100 today. Hasbro’s Transformers Masterpiece Edition MP-44 Optimus Prime (ver 3.0) toy looks exactly like I remember my Optimus Prime, but a much cleaner and higher quality version.

This plastic and die-cast metal toy is designed specifically to look like the ’80s version, not the new Optimus Prime from Michael Bay’s movies. It’s supposed to be the most complete Optimus Prime toy ever, and it certainly looks it.

It can transform to a robot and back to a truck, as it should. It comes with an Ion Blaster, Energon Axe, Starscream head and shoulders, hoses, blast effects, and lots more stuff.

This new version is incredibly expensive at $439.99, and can pre-ordered at Entertainment Earth if you want it as badly as I do. Shipping is set for this month, so you could give this as a Christmas gift… to me.

Rick and Morty Pickle Rick Figure Is Ready to Take on The Rat King

Growing up, I was famous in my neighborhood for my pickle concoctions. Essentially I did what my dad did when he cooked a steak, simply opened the spice cabinet and put some of everything on the pickles. They were good, and I ate lots of pickles to the point where my dad had 5-year-old me 75% convinced I would wake up one morning and have turned into a pickle. I’d probably turn out like Pickle Rick, only I’d be Pickle Shane.

Check out this amazing Pickle Rick action figure from Funko. It comes with our deranged pal Pickle Rick, and he has a disgusting suit that looks to be made from a rat carcass. The armor is complete with rib cage, rat head helmet, video camera, and wrist drills.

The action figure stands 5-inches tall and comes in a window box for those of you who don’t actually play with your toys. It’s awesomely gross and up for pre-order now for $19.99 at Entertainment Earth with shipping starting this December.

Deadpool vs The World Card Game is Perfect for Adult Game Night

There are plenty of card games out there that have players caption what you see on the cards or complete sentences for humor and fun. Deadpool fans wanting a new game to add to their game night shenanigans will want to check out Deadpool vs The World Card Game.

The game comes with 400 cards total. 100 of those cards have custom illustrations of Deadpool in strange and inappropriate situations, while the 300 remaining cards include partial captions with a dry-erase surface. The idea is to finish the captions to come up with the most offensive and outrageous explanations of why Deadpool is in those compromising positions.

Amazon has the game for $24, and it would be an excellent Christmas gift for fans of Deadpool and card games.

Karate Kid Miyago-Do Karate Kit: Wax Sold Separately

Any kid of the ’80s who endured a bully at school wanted to crane kick the snot out of them, just like Daniel did in Karate Kid. Daniel wasn’t happy about the training methods Mr. Miyagi used, but they did the trick. Fans of the classic 1984 movie will definitely want to check out Icon Heroes’ Miyago-Do Karate Kit.

It comes with an exact replica of the headband Ralph Macchio wore in the movie. It also includes a handwritten “paint the house” note, custom chopsticks for catching flies, a Miyagi-Do Karate School pin, and a graduation certificate. It even includes a registration form for the 1984 All Valley Karate Championship Tournament.

The kit will set you back $24.99 and can be preordered now, and starts shipping in January 2019. When you are wearing that headband and practicing your moves, be sure to watch for the leg sweep.

Alien Facehugger Figure Gives Free Hugs

Hugs are always a nice thing unless they come from some odd, gigantic, hairy, sweaty guy you don’t know. I’d not want a free hug from an Alien facehugger either. It may well be the last hug you ever get unless you find someone to do the deed before your chest bursts.

Entertainment Earth has a cool Alien inspired Q-Fig diorama, featuring a xenomorph egg and a facehugger bursting forth with an offer of “free hugs.” Definitely don’t take him up on it unless you want a really bad stomach ache.

The 3.5″ tall statue is available for pre-order now for $19.99, and expected to ship in October 2018 making it perfect for your Halloween décor.

POP! Alien Video Game 8-bit Action Figure is Pixel-tastic

Back in the ’90s, a video game based on the Alien movie franchise was launched, and it was cool. Notably, the Xenomorph character was pixelated like many games of that era. The game is sort of a cult classic, and to celebrate its fandom, Entertainment Earth has an exclusive pixel-art Xenomorph action figure.

The toy is a blocky 8-bit Funko POP! action figure that is black in the middle and has blue and orange shading on the sides. It stands 3 3/4-inches tall and is packaged in a window display box. The action figure is available now for $13.99.

It almost looks like a Xenomorph LEGO kit. In fact, it sort of makes me want to build a Xenomorph out of LEGO right now.

Deadpool Bob Ross Funko POP! Figure: Happy Little Chimichangas

I was a huge fan of the first Deadpool movie – it was hilarious, action packed, violent, and raunchy. If Deadpool 2 lives up to the genius marketing the film has had, I expect to be equally impressed with it. One of my favorite things Deadpool has done is dress up like Bob Ross.

I grew up watching Ross turn mistakes into happy little trees and am still a fan of his show and work. Entertainment Earth has a Deadpool Bob Ross Pop! figure that will be available this June, and it looks awesome.

Rosspool comes with a giant paintbrush, painter’s palette, and that afro that was Ross’ signature look. The toy sells for $10.99, and Deadpool fans need to own it.

Star Wars Mighty Muggs: The Expressive Side of the Force

The Last Jedi opens in theaters in just a couple of weeks, so Star Wars fan fever is starting to swell once more. And sometimes the only prescription for fan fever is more collectibles. Fortunately, Hasbro has got us covered with a new series of Mighty Muggs toys, inspired by characters from the Star Wars universe.

The soon to be released Star Wars Wave 1 set includes big-headed version of Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Luke Skywalker, Rey, Kylo Ren, and Princess Leia. Each figure has three different expressions, which are revealed when you push down on the tops of their heads. Sometimes they’re happy, sometimes they’re sad, and other times, they’re making their helmet bend to their whim.

The figures measure 4″ tall and sell for $10.99 each, or $59.99 for the complete set. They’re available for pre-order on Entertainment Earth now, and are expected to ship later this month.

Star Wars Black Series Imperial Forces Action Figures Won’t Miss Your Wallet

Growing up, there were only stormtroopers with white armor, and the occasional black outfit on a TIE fighter pilot, but in the new Star Wars flicks you get some red and even a silver stormtrooper. If you want to add a little variety to your stark black and white trooper collection, here’s your chance to own some cool action figures.

The Black Series set includes a 6″ Sandtrooper Sergeant, a Crimson Stormtrooper, a TIE fighter pilot, and a black R2-Q5 droid. They come with weapons and other accessories.

You can get the entire set a an exclusive at Entertainment Earth. The set is on sale right now for $45.99(USD) and normally costs $99.99.

X-Files Titans Mini-figures: The Toys Are out There

I had forgotten just how much I really loved The X-Files back in the day until I watched the very short reboot series earlier this year. I really hope Fox brings the show back again. If you want to relive some of that early X-Files glory, you will want to collect some of these X-Files Titans mini-figures.

titans-x-files-1

These are all characters from the original series, but I forget who some of them are. I recognize Mulder, Scully, Skinner, The Smoking Man, Byers, Frohike, and Langly. I don’t remember Tooms, Flukeman, Mutato, Phyllis Paddock, or Lanny.

Each figure is 3″ tall and they are on sale for just $4(USD) each now at Entertainment Earth. Sadly you can’t choose which of these figures you buy. They are blind-boxed, so you get what you get.
