Firefly Playing Cards are Perfect for Poker Night in the Verse

Firefly fans who also like to play poker with friends, get out your credit cards. A set of Firefly playing cards has been released that are a product of a tie up between QMx and Bicycle. The cards all have art inspired by the TV series and look like they are old and worn.

The cards art features items from the show like Mal’s pistol Vera, Serenity, and Jane’s rifle. QMX also says that there are some Easter eggs on the card for fans to discover on their own.

Firefly Monopoly Sells the Verse

I don’t think anything started as many fights growing up as a game of Monopoly. We always fought over who got to be the car, and the weakest person ended up as the thimble. It was a mark of shame. After we began playing, at some point we ended up in a fight because someone was being a dick about rent or bought a property we wanted. Those little tokens make pretty good projectile weapons. I think we may be the only kids to play Monopoly wearing eye protection.

Firefly fans who enjoy Monopoly will want this version. It has locations from around the Verse for you to buy, sell, and start brawls over. The six tokens are all spaceships, which are all cool and will make it hard to tell who is the weakest at the board.

The tokens include Alliance Gunship, Serenity, Reaver Ship (Trans-U), Thunderbird-class Surveyor, Shuttle, and Brutus. You can pick up the game for $39.99(USD) at ThinkGeek.

Firefly Serenity Plush Ship: Soft Sci-Fi

If you ever wanted a little Serenity to sit on your bed or perhaps to beat your siblings with, here it is. This is a stuffed plush Firefly Serenity ship and it even has a hand hold in the bottom so you can fly it around one handed. This could well be the best gift ever given to that one niece you have who has 172 stuffed animals on her bed.

It even has a couple of pockets sewn into the sides that have shuttles that are attached via cord. The cord is to keep you from losing the shuttles. I think we adults can agree to cut the cords so the shuttles can land as they need to.

This is official Firefly merchandise and measures 18″ (L) x 14″ (W) x 7.5″ (H). You can pick one up at ThinkGeek right now for a bit under $40 shiny dollars.

Valentine’s Day is almost here. I hope you have something as cool as this Diamond Serenity Firefly necklace to give your girl – though I doubt it. It doesn’t get much better than this. Serenity Plaque Belt Buckle Makes Waistlines Shiny

I’m from Texas, and around here you don’t have to look very long or hard to see someone wearing a giant belt buckle. They usually come with hats, cowboy boots, and Wrangler jeans. If you want to fit in with the big belt buckle crowd, but aren’t into western wear, here is your ticket.

This Firefly Belt Buckle is based on the builder plaque that was seen on the bridge of Firefly’s Serenity. The belt buckle is some sort of base metal alloy with a pewter finish and measures 4-inches wide and 2.5-inches tall.

You can pick one up for $19.99 at ThinkGeek now. That price buys you only the the buckle. You will need to supply your own belt up to 1-3/4″ wide. You can get one from just about any western wear store in the world.

Firefly Funko Pop! Vinyl Figures Lack River

If you are a fan of Firefly, you might recall a while back we mentioned that Funko was working on a line of its Pop! action figures featuring the crew of the Serenity. It’s been a couple of years now since we talked about those action figures and you can now buy them on ThinkGeek for $9.99 each.

Sadly, you can’t buy the entire crew; River and the doctor are missing. Still you can buy Zoe Washburne, Hoban Washburne, Malcolm Reynolds, Jayne Cobb, and Kaylee Frye. That covers most of the crew, but I always liked the insane River best.

Each of the action figures is 3 3/4-inches tall and has some of their gear from the show. Mal has his revolver, Wash has his Hawaiian shirt and dinosaur, and Jayne has his ugly hat.

Firefly Coasters Keep your Wood Shiny

My mom was big on coasters growing up. She had enough polish on the coffee table that you could play shuffleboard on it without scratching the table, and it repelled water like a duck’s back. Still, she wanted us to use coasters. As an act of civil disobedience I abstained, even when said coasters were literally touching my drink, I sat my drink on bare wood. Take that, mom!

firefly-coast-1zoom in

The one saving grace of a well-balanced coaster is that you can chuck it ninja star style at your brother’s head and be quite accurate with enough practice. Now that I am older and have my own wood furniture, I still don’t use coasters because they are stupid. Most of them are stupid anyway. Though I actually quite like these Firefly coasters. There are four of them with different patterns and the requisite cork on one side.

The coasters fit into this little Blue Sun logo tin can thingy when they aren’t sitting on your table… unused. At least these coasters are cool to look at, even as your guests refuse to use them for drinks. You can get a set for $14.99(USD) at ThinkGeek.
