This retro-inspired grill gives charcoal infused flavours with the ease of using an oven!

It’s not every day that we stumble upon grills that are purposefully built to bring the joy of charcoal grilling to everyone. Of course, the Gravity Series 800 charcoal grill with griddle and smoker we saw recently, does offer its service, but for grillers, it’s more about convenience and flavor – which the Spark Grill intends to provide in a sleeker and portable design.

We all know charcoal grilling tastes better, but they have been sidelined by gas grills because the latter are convenient to use in comparison to the messier charcoal ones. Most grill-outs today, therefore, happen over a propane grill, nothing bad with that to say, but when it comes to flavor – they lack what charcoal grills can deliver. Albeit, the latter are messy, difficult to manage, and most importantly, cumbersome to control – this amounts to overcooking or burnt meat, if you don’t do it right!

Spark Grill walks in as a capable alternative to traditional charcoal grills and a rightful competitor to gas guzzlers you’ve been using. It is the first charcoal grill that is easy to use as its gas counterpart and effortlessly simple to control like a smart oven. The result is precise charcoal grilling, so you get all the flavor without futzing with the fire and uncontrolled temperatures. Spark Grill’s onboard LED dial can be used to control and set the cooking temperature anywhere between 200°F to over 900°F. This range and control opens up new cooking avenues for a serious griller, who can now blend the natural wood and charcoal flavor to every dish being served along with craft beer. The entire experience is made worthwhile with the use of charcoal Briqs – made from classic woods like hickory and Applewood – that are used in the Spark and ignite instantly with the turn of a switch.

These removable Briqs – that offer the same smoky flavors of charcoal – get hot enough for grilling in just a few minutes, and when cooking is complete, can be unmounted to make clean-up seamless and mess-free. Excitingly, the Spark Grill is now available for pre-order with an accompanying mobile app that notifies the griller when the grill is up to the required temperature or when the food is perfectly grilled. The app can also be used to re-order Briqs when supply’s running out. Spark Grill’s blend of controlled cooking with natural wood and charcoal will provide you the perfect smoky flavor you’d want to impress your kin at the next backyard BBQ party!

This modern colorful charcoal BBQ grill works for your terrace parties & even outdoor adventures

Compact and colorful BBQ grills fashioned for terraces and smaller backyards are hard to come by. So, when we stumble upon something in this periphery, we can’t help but stop by and appreciate the idea. Designed first to stick out in the Moroccan markets before flying abroad, the Skara’B Barbecue by Fours Afifi – a local studio focused on designing grills that are discrete yet attractive – is just one to pin your hopes on.

Envisioned as a simple BBQ that would stand upright in competition for its aesthetic design, Skara’B Barbecue proudly showcases Moroccan craftsmanship in its appeal, made possible in collaboration with avant-garde Moroccan designer Mahdi Naim. The moniker Skara’B is derived from the Scarab – a form of beetle that holds symbolic relevance in ancient Egyptian religion – and according to Fours Afifi, is known for its heat resistant properties. The hexagonally-shaped BBQ grill stands just about a meter tall and has 60cms x 60cms of cooking area. The charcoal-fired Skara’B Barbecue has a stainless steel base, which houses a cylindrical steel ash-catcher facilitating clean and hassle-free BBQ sessions on the terrace or backyard.

For convenience and portability, the design team intends to include the barbecue with an attachable table and include a carrying case so you can take it wherever your outdoorsy lifestyle leads you. The grill already features anti-corrosive wheels for maneuvering it around and comes with an adjustable, stainless steel valve for controlling the heat levels. Sorry, there is no option to control temperature and other tad-bits using the phone – this grill basically takes you back in time where grilling sessions were less about the recipe and more about the time you spent with peeps around it with a glass of wine in the hand.

The idea of Skara’B is incomplete without discussing the fun part – the colors – the BBQ grill is available in red, blue, yellow, and fuchsia colorways. The compact grill is now available in Morocco and is expected to ship internationally in the spring of 2021. Hold on to your monochrome grill for a little longer before the Skara’B is ready to fly over to your backyard and spread some cheerful colors.

This ultimate charcoal grill + griddle lets you barbecue to your exact settings in your backyard

Gas grills are convenient to light, cook on, and clean but grillers have unapologetic interest in charcoal grills since they lend a very delicious smoky flavor to your BBQ. With the introduction of Gravity Series 800 from Masterbuilt, the charcoal grill is getting an additional referendum. This new Griddle + Grill + Smoker introduces a griddle – flat top – to a charcoal grill; simply slide in the griddle to replace the cast-iron grill grates and cook your favorite breakfast recipe.

Generally, freestanding griddles are gas-powered but this uncanny charcoal option in Gravity Series 800 is a redefining moment for charcoal grilling and smoking sessions in the outdoors. You can easily swap out cast-iron grill grates for griddle and instead of just limited cooking choice, you’re open to an entire day of culinary experience – essentially lucrative considering the current situations when going out for grilling sessions is not happening anytime soon. Bring out the Gravity Series 800, which occupies 800 square inches of cooking space, in your backyard, light up the charcoal and get on with grilling and griddling the way you want.

Gravity Series 800 Griddle follows Masterbuilt’s Gravity Series 560 and Gravity Series 1050. Its design and construction are pretty similar to its predecessors though it has been meticulously engineered to make outdoor cooking simpler by giving the controls in your hands. Yes, the searing temperatures and slow-low cooking on the new grill + griddle can be controlled from the convenience of your smartphone, which syncs via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. In addition to controlling the cooking temperature, you can also monitor cook time from the app, while the integrated fan maintains the heat based on your desired setting.

According to Masterbuilt, the Gravity Series 800 Charcoal Griddle + Grill + Smoker can hit temperatures as high as 700 degrees in just 14 minutes, which is monitored by a built-in temperature gauge while the meat probe thermometer ensures you get a perfectly cooked recipe every time. GravityFed hopper on the right of the grill can hold 10 lbs of charcoal or up to 16 lbs of briquettes, which can both last for almost 10 hours. If you always wanted an option where you could smoke, grill, and griddle and not have to stretch back to the kitchen for certain recipes, the Gravity Series 800 Griddle is the choice cut out for you.
