This Pizza Has a Crunchy, Ramen-tastic Crust

Pizza with pasta toppings. Pizza infused with lasagna in the middle. Pizza with burgers baked into the crust. Those are just some of the interesting pizza creations people all over the world have come up with.

Another one to add to the list is the Ramen Crust Pizza.

As its name suggests, this delicious pie was made with a crispy ramen crust. That’s right, you won’t find any dough here. The pizza was thought up by J. Kenji Lopez-Alt. The recipe is surprisingly simple and easy to follow: cook instant noodles, simmer the cooked noodles in hot olive oil, add toppings, and bake. Sounds delicious.

You can find the recipe here, in case you’re interested in making your own Ramen Pizza for dinner. Or if you’d rather not go through the trouble, it’s only a matter of time before Pizza Hut starts making these, I’m sure.

The Trouble with Tribbles is They Taste too Damned Yummy

When your starship is overrun with a plague of furry fur-balls, you can work up a hunger fighting them off. But instead of poisoning them, why not get out your forks and start eating them? That’ll show ‘em who’s boss.

Our friends over at Kitchen Overlord came up with this recipe for edible roasted Tribbles, which are basically furry meatballs.

Ok, so they’re not really furry – that’s toasted coconut on the outside. And chances are, you’re not going to be able to find any Tribble meat around here, so you’ll need to go with chicken. Though I’ve been told that Tribble tastes like chicken anyhow.

Speaking of Tribbles, I wonder if J.J. Abrams will ever make Star Trek: The Trouble with Tribbles.

The Walking Dead is Back: Now What to Eat During the Zombie Apocalypse…

Like millions of you out there, I’m stoked for the Season 3.2 return of The Walking Dead tonight. In honor of the occasion, our friends over at KitchenOverlord have put together a little recipe you can throw together, even while the zombie horde descends on your camp.

This Dandelion Green and Walnut Pesto can be easily assembled from items foraged in Georgia – with the exception of maybe the lemon. And there is that little part about needing a blender and electricity… Oh well, maybe it’s impractical after the zombies attack, but at least you can make some for tonight and toss it with some pasta. I’d go with red colored pasta so it looks like guts, of course.

Literal Go Fish Playing Cards Teach You to Cook Actual Fish

The card game “Go Fish” isn’t named that way because it has anything to do with fish. Its name is inspired by the act of “fishing” another card out of the pile when the other player doesn’t have the card you’re looking for. But in Iceland, Go Fish is literally about fish – at least if you buy this deck.

Artist Stefán Pétur Sólveigarson created this quirky deck of cards that’s been covered with images of a diverse range of aquatic species. And the cards don’t just teach you to identify the fish, it teaches you how to prepare and cook them. You know the old saying “give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a day; teach him to fish, he’ll eat for a lifetime?” That’s what these cards are all about – or at least teaching him how to cook fish.

Qooq Tablet: Now We’re Qookin with Qrisco!

I’ve always been somewhat perplexed by users having more than one tablet. Still, I have to say that a smaller tablet, perhaps an inch or two smaller than the iPad Mini, could be handy to tote around daily. The oddly-spelled Qooq tablet doesn’t fit that particular bill, instead being designed specifically for kitchen use.

Made in France, the Qooq tablet was designed for cooks, so it’s splash-proof, heat and humidity resistant, and has a retractable support that serves as a stand. If you use it with greasy hands, don’t worry, because the grease can be easily cleaned off with a damp cloth. It’s got a 10.1-inch screen, an ARM Cortex A9 processor, 8GB of memory, built-in Wi-Fi, and a customized interface that has a meal planner, browser, and built-in virtual cookbook. It can also be used for surfing the Internet, viewing videos or images and listening to music.

This all sounds pretty cool. However, I’m sure that anyone with an inexpensive tablet could duplicate these functions with a waterproof case and the right cooking apps, which will probably add up to less than the Qooq’s $399(USD) retail price. But if you’re looking for a stylish gadget, dedicated to kitchen use, you should definitely check out the Qooq.

Glowy Noms: Black Light Cupcakes

Here’s a recipe that learns you how to make cupcakes that glow under black light. The trick is dipping the iced cupcakes in a Jello and tonic water mixture. These glowing treats would go well with the Black Light Cocktail we posted a few months back. Which, by the way, some of you really came out of the woodwork to say some prettyyyy mean things in the comments. But don’t worry, I forgive you all. You were probably just having a bad day. I know you guys didn’t mean it! If you did, then… well, clearly I’ve been deluding myself all this time. Candy Corn On The Cob

Just in time for Halloween, here’s some Candy Corn on the Cob made by Instructables user Alaskantomboy. Finally! Someone’s created a way for me to convince others that I actually eat vegetables while in reality I really only eat candy. All you need is unbaked sugar cookie dough for the core and candy corns for the kernels. So simple, it’s nearly impossible to mess up. Unless you eat all the ingredients before assembling them, in which case… don’t judge me just because I have no self control!

Somewhere Over The Rainbow Waffles

These are rainbow waffles made by Tablespoon user Gimmesomeoven. She’s even kind enough to share the recipe! All you need is food coloring, Bisquick, Ziplock bags, a waffle iron and you can make your very own rainbow waffles! Or if you’re like me, attempt to make them but end up burning down the whole damn aparmtent building because you’re a horrible cook. And by horrible cook I mean I get distracted easy. Real easy. Like sometimes it can be pretty ridi– man, those waffles sure look deeeeeeeelish. I think I’m gonna order a pizza.
