Teddy Sitter Keeps One Eye On Your Kids, and Another On Your Sitter

Teddy Sitter

Even the most hands-on parents leave their kids with the sitter sometimes, and that’s where gadgets like the Teddy Sitter comes in. It looks like a regular brown teddy bear that you can find in most toy stores, except that it’s got a large and shiny beacon-like nose where I assume the camera and sensors are located. Because while the Teddy Sitter looks like a toy, it most definitely is much more than just that.

It’s meant to double as a babysitter for your kids, but I think it’s always safest to get a human to do that job. But for your peace of mind, the Teddy Sitter lets on-the-go or absentee parents monitor what’s happening at home in a truly novel way.

The Teddy Sitter is programmed to do all sorts of fun and educational activities with your kids. It can tell bedtime stories, jokes, sing songs, or play MP3 files of your kids’ favorite tunes. It also functions as a nightlight and alarm clock. The mobile app that it comes with definitely adds to the Teddy Sitter’s features, specifically the ones that lets parents keep a closer eye on their kids, even when they’re far away from home.

Aside from taking photos and sending it to you, the bear can also measure the room temperature and humidity levels, should you ever need that information. You’ll also be able to send messages (and have your kids respond to you) through the bear, although perhaps a phone would be more appropriate.

The project is currently up for funding on Indiegogo, where you can get one for €100 (~$132 USD).

Breaking Bad Teddy Bear Cake: Baking Bad

How do you recreate that classic moment from Breaking Bad when the teddy bear falls into the pool? You make a cake honoring the pink bear with the missing eye. Actually the waterlogged teddy appeared in many episodes in Season 2, but it has never looked so delicious as this.
breaking bad
Redditor hollyicing made this cake while suffering a hangover from the night before – yes, she was truly Baking Bad. It looks just like the burned teddy bear that fell into Walter White’s swimming pool. She says that it is a variation of a madeira cake that’s lemon and passion fruit flavor with passion fruit butter icing and stacked using home made passion fruit and lemon jam. Sounds lovely to me.

The eyeball was going to be a Gobstopper, but she couldn’t get a plain white one the right size so it is white marzipan instead. She splashed it with black food dye and then burnt some of it to get the look just right.

Isn’t it just the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen?

Zombie Teddy Bears: the Walking Ted

I personally didn’t think that anything could be worse than human zombies. Now I know better. Zombie teddy bears are truly terrifying. Just look at this demented bear. He wants your brains. Even a headshot won’t kill him, because his head is just full of stuffing.
undead teddy bears
These gruesome undead teddy bears are the work of Phillip Blackman, a British illustrator who enjoys turning teddy bears into horrifying zombies. You can’t reason with them, you can’t cuddle with them and they can’t be hugged. They deal only in death.

Their goal? To populate the world with teddy bear zombies and use humans for slaves. Have fun sleeping after seeing these guys.

You can see more of Phillip’s demented teddies here. If you’d like to permanently scar someone, you can even buy one for yourself. They’re currently sold out, but keep your eye out over on the Undead Teds’ Etsy shop for more zombie teddies, as the infection continues to spread.

A Teddy Bear With A Smartphone Heart

Remember Teddy Ruxpin? He brought all the boys to the yard to listen to him read a story from one of his convoluted adventures aboard an airship. The Cocolo Bear is Teddy Ruxpin 2012, although I’m pretty sure they’re unrelated because Cocolo comes from Japan. Cocolo talks to you, answers questions, and plays games thanks to his smartphone heart and app but otherwise is a glorified speaker phone. Parents can even leave messages for their kids. I need a reader from Japan to send me one PLEASE!

Decapitated Teddy Bear USB Drive Loses His Head for Your Data

This Teddy Bear USB Drive is as cute and adorable as flash drives can get. Heck, they’re so fluffy and doe-eyed that kids would mistake them for toys and grab them from your desk.

When they do, I suggest that you get the USB back though because aside from possibly containing your confidential data, it also has the potential to break their hearts and scar them forever.

I think the picture says it all. Dear Teddy, headless? Oh, the sheer horror of having to comfort the kid when he accidentally (or purposefully) pulls Teddy’s head off. That said, this flash drive is probably best for storing back-up files or other data that wouldn’t require you to bring it to an actual office. For obvious reasons.

Headless Teddy Bear USB Drive1

On a side note, it’s totally appropriate for Halloween. The Headless Teddy Bear USB Drive is priced from $22 to $38 (USD), depending on the storage capacity. 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB drives are available.

Google Maps on web and Android adds bus routing for Japan, guides teddy bears quickly video

Virtually anyone who's been to a Japanese city knows that subways and trains might be closely associated with their country, but also that they only form a part of the mass transit picture. With that in mind, Google has quietly rolled out an update to Google Maps data for Android and the web that supports bus navigation in Japan, including schedules. It's a simple addition, but an important one for those who can't always get to where they're going on rails -- like teddy bears, according to Google's video. We just want to know who makes that kawaii case for the Galaxy Nexus.
