World of Warcraft Now Lets You Mine Gold to Pay for Game Time

Despite being over 10 years old, World of Warcraft is still one of the most popular MMO games on the planet, even if it might not be quite as popular today as it used to be. One of the things that gamers tend to do in the game is simply spend time mining for gold to buy better virtual stuff.

Blizzard has now announced a new scheme that will let players fund their gaming passion using the virtual gold they mine in the game. Using that virtual gold, players can buy WoW tokens from the auction house. Those tokens can then be redeemed for 30 days of game time.

This new feature makes mining gold and playing WoW a self-fulfilling prophecy. Players can mine gold to pay for game time to mine more gold.

All addicts of social online media were in for a lull. The sites that included Instagram, Tinder and Facebook were down for approximately an hour or so. And during that period in time, those who were...

Guy Builds World of Warcraft Goblin Copter from Wood

World of Warcraft players will be familiar with the goblin copter. It’s a cartoonish flying device that goblins fly around for whatever reason goblins need for taking to the air. One geeky fan of the game has actually built his own goblin copter.

I think the only way this thing could be cooler is if it was able to fly. The builder is from China and goes by the name wq241332496 on the forums. As you can see from the build pics below, the goblin copter was made using lots of wood and some detailed painting techniques. It also looks as if some of the aircraft model was covered in thin sheet metal of some sort.

The goblin copter looks almost just like the one from the game and comes complete with a little goblin pilot. The man in the images is holding the goblin pilot – that isn’t a kid pitching a fit.

Chinese McDonald’s Get World of Warcraft Makeover: McWarcraft

Why is it that the McDonald’s here in the U.S. don’t get any of the cool, and weird foods that the chain gets in other countries? Here in the U.S. we also don’t get cool restaurant makeovers, all we get are the playgrounds taken out. On the other hand, in China, some locations are getting a World of Warcraft makeover.

The makeover is a tie-in with McDonald’s and the WoW expansion pack, Warlords of Draenor set to land in November. Three different locations in china’s largest cities were transformed. The locations are in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.

The outside of these McDonald’s now look like a fortress and on the inside are lots of WoW art and posters. Workers wear shirts with Hoarde or Alliance symbols on them. I bet the geeky décor helps drum up business.
