There’s no fighting this bull

lamborghini_belador_01

Named after the famous fighting bull, the Belador, the monster, is the perfect mix between the push and pull of power with control. A unique unity of technology and tradition come together to form this gorgeous concept, as imagined by Sergey Dvornytskyy. Powered by a hybrid engine, this animal is taking a step out of the dark and into a new age of brilliance and top performance.

What is rather unique about this concept is its body sculpting – forming somewhat of a front ‘cap’ that encompasses the windshield and entire front body including the gracious wheel arches. The body itself edges slightly forward and lifts up in the rear, giving the impression that this car will always have a forward momentum both in design and in physical speed. I feel Dvornytskyy has toyed with the ratio of new design/technology and keeping the traditional design language of Lamborghini enough that he has executed an evenly futuristic yet still realistic concept here.

A Very Expensive Game of Ping Pong

impatia_lungolinea_ping_pong_table_06

The lifestyles of the rich and famous are getting more insane as the days grow old. With every day that passes another mansion is sold, and another golden iPhone is bought. What I have never seen before though is a crystal ping pong table…yup, that’s right, crystal. The Italian design company Impatia have made some staggeringly overindulgent ‘sports’ equipment.

I’m not saying this isn’t the coolest thing in the world because as far as I’m concerned, I need this in my life. Made of pure crystal, there is no denying that this magnificent table is a work of art. As if the notion of having a crystal glass ping pong table wasn’t showing off enough, this table is also available with the add-on of 24 Karat gold coated connecting joints and a net handmade by an Italian goldsmith. If you ever felt bad about buying this table, you could always try to get your money’s worth by eating your Sunday dinner on it.

A Gem of a car

lexus_facet_05

Very often we find ourselves looking at concept cars as somewhat a view into the future of the automotive industry but rarely take a step back to admire the beauty and true aesthetic story of the vehicle itself. One concept that’s really stood out to me of late is the astounding Lexus Facet by Sung Kim. Having studied diamond-cutting and the facets involved, Kim wished to apply this vision to the Lexus design language – and with doing so, creating a work of art in itself.

The body of the Lexus Facet is somewhat of an art installation that steals your attention with each panel that gleams. Using 3D printed fabrication, Kim achieved the facets by creating and aligning them to various converging points within in the space – giving us this edgy design aesthetic found on the Lexus Facet. Having incorporated the side windows with the body of the Facet, the overall size of the vehicle is visually reduced, making this 4-wheeler appear a lot smaller than it is, which I find very smart. I’ve always been a fan of polygonal forms, and I believe mixed with the symmetry of the vehicle itself, the Lexus Facet is a true beauty and something that would be an admired for years to come if we ever saw it hit the roads.

Excited(!) to refuel?

exclamation_mark_ev_charger_01

Going through college, it’s almost as though there’s an unsaid list of products one must design before graduating. Some of these products are power tools, kitchen utensils, dehumidifier and an electric vehicle charger. So, of course, one can find an abundance of these all throughout Bēhance, making it difficult to stand out. Not for Youngwoo Lee and his ‘Exclamation Mark,’ making a stand out concept for the EV Charging Concept world.

What I like most about this concept is the simplicity in its form. This charger isn’t trying to be anything more than it is, alleviating any unnecessary complications that arise from over-designed interfaces. There are only four interaction points on the interface, making this virtually foolproof to use. While the housing itself is a little more complex but once again, not screaming for attention. In a fully crowded parking lot, these may be difficult to spot due to their low profile, but with appropriate signage, these guys should fit right pretty perfectly.

The Cleanest Design for Clean Teeth

The year 2018, we thought there would be flying cars, self-tightening shoes and so much more, yet we have an abundance of smart speakers and biometric data for every smart device. The latest product to go smart which may or may not need it is Colgate, with their Colgate Connect E1. Exclusively available only at Apple stores, this smart and sleek toothbrush is actually pretty cool.

This toothbrush certainly packs a punch, going ten days on a single charge, with a small rounded head to reach those hard to get corners of the mouth. It also has artificial intelligence embedded in the handle and automatic data uploading via Bluetooth wireless technology for a seamless pairing process. All this inside a pretty slim handle seems like a no-brainer honestly. As if that wasn’t enough, this little guy comes with an app that helps you map your mouth when brushing to ensure better brushing habits and how to get the best out of what you brush. Oh, and it also comes with games because who doesn’t like games right?

The Hyper Style of Hyper Speed

Toyota, in recent days, has been hitting the talk of the town when it comes to their e-Palette concept and for excellent reasons too! However, what’s slipped under the radar this month is the unmissable GR Super Sport Concept which let me start by saying, is outstanding.

Don’t let the curvaceous body fool you into thinking it’s just a prototype (even though technically it is). Underneath the curvy bodywork of this animal is a chassis and powertrain that according to Toyota “is composed of mostly the same main parts” as the company’s World Endurance Championship (WEC) hybrid-power TS050 race car. Underneath the body, you’ll find the ever-impressive twin-turbocharged hybrid V6 that makes 986 horsepower and a hell of a lot of noise.

Let’s not get distracted and be reminded that this is simply a prototype/concept and will be years before we set our eyes on such a beauty. Nevertheless, this truly is a work of art, and it’s reflected by the gorgeous wheel arches and extra detailing brought in by the carbon fiber and polygonal arch detailing. What makes me get very excited by the GR Super Sport Concept is that this car has the ability to look incredibly fast without having to move an inch. The side profile of the GR Super Sport Concept reveals so much more about this car than words ever could.

A portable wall socket, essentially!

jackery_powerbar_01

Power banks are great, without them I’d be lost. Literally. The amount of times I go camping and run out of battery is insane. I used to laugh at the idea of more is better, but in Jackery’s case, this might be true. Having just recently released the Jackery PowerBar High Capacity Portable Charger, I can’t help but think this ‘brick’ would be perfect so any outdoor trip or even weekend trip that will have you on the move all-day everyday.

I say that because the Jackery PowerBar comes with a handy AC wall outlet and a powerful 20,800mAh battery. It comes with a USB C, QC3.0, and 5V/2.4A three USB outputs. Believed to power iPhone and Samsung smartphones up to 10 times, provides 1.2 charges to a MacBook Air 12″ and up to 70% charge on a MacBook Pro 15″ with the use of the AC outlet. Named the PowerBar, this thing should be called “The Beast” due to its insane charging ability, not only that, but the Iron/Grey color gives off a badass look while the rugged industrial look shows it’s ready for business.

My word, Motorola!

Motorola has been the phone of my youth! I’ll never forget the days of flipping open my Motorola Razr and the level of excitement that I would get was second to none. That was then, so what now? The Livermorium Moto Z Keyboard Mod might just bring some feelings of nostalgia back, maybe even start their own memories for users now.

Avoiding the annoyance of currently having to sacrifice half of the screen to the keyboard interface, this keyboard mod makes texting a whole lot easier. Additionally, you can adjust the angle of the keyboard to make it more comfortable in your hands. If the screen just isn’t bright enough for you, it even comes with a backlight that you can turn off.

Slim, discrete and practical, this Moto Z Mod may just be what the doctor ordered. In a world where phones are being manufactured to have fewer buttons, fewer openings and conforming to the less is more way of life (literally), it’s nice to see a change in the tide now and then.

Does your speaker drive burglars away?

After getting into a fight with mainly his entire family, Kevin McCallister got sent to the third floor of the house by his mom and upon doing so wished his family would disappear – and they did. Sound familiar? It should. The new speaker released by Mitipi is called Kevin, and after you finish this article, you’ll understand why this speaker is so aptly named.

When you leave your home for long extended periods of time, Kevin (the smart speaker) will control lights, turn on and off the TV and play various sounds/music that will make it look like Kevin (McCallister) were there himself. It’s advised to leave the speaker in an area where it will be most effective, and ill tell you why. Once you’re gone, Kevin will start cycling through sounds and light sequences that make sense for their respective timestamp in the day, and the room that it’s in even influences it. It is wedged full of different sounds and scenarios that Mitipi claims should have weeks of content, preventing the possibility of a loop being detected.

The front of this guy looks just like any other speaker, a little bigger than most, but the rear is where it all changes. A mix of varies LEDs sink into the rear body which helps amplify those projections to scare away those pesky burglars.

Memorable bike for a memorable man

Death Machines of London (DMOL) are easily my favorite Motorcycle resurrectors there is at this moment in time. After seeing the ‘Up Yours Copper,’ (a resurrected 2007 Triumph Thruxton 900) it’s easy to understand why they’re the leading artists in their craft of cool. As if the UYC wasn’t already a strong enough reason to agree with me, then why not check out their latest release – the Moto Guzzi ‘Airforce.’

Designed and built in memory of Giovanni Ravelli, the Moto Guzzi ‘Airforce’ is somewhat a thing of admiration, maybe never to be driven (if you could stop yourself) but who are we kidding, this bike is magnificent. Taken from the crew at DMOL “They say convenient is the enemy of right. Mr. Giovanni Ravelli, a co-founder of Moto Guzzi, was not a man to take the convenient path. WW1 fighter pilot, aviator and motorcycle racer, he was so fast he became known as ‘The Italian Devil.’ we hope he would have appreciated the fact that our Moto Guzzi ‘Airforce,’ built in his memory and released on his birthday, was the most inconvenient thing we’ve ever made.”

The donor motorcycle of the ‘Airforce’ is a 1982 Moto Guzzi LeMans MK2, and my goodness me if you know what that looks like, you’re equally as shocked at how it looks now. Coated in a custom ‘Airforce Grey’ specifically for this project and further coated in incredible detail, the ‘Airforce’ is precision detailing at it’s finest. Almost showing off how great they are, DMOL has outdone themselves with the attention here. From the inverted knurled handlebars and the rear aviation-inspired suspension to the handspun aluminum wheel disks, this bike is so much more than just a bike. How about the fact this thing looks like it might take off? DMOL have once again proved that one man’s trash is another man’s work of art once DMOL is finished with it – and this is certainly to be admired.
