PicoBrew shifts it focus from beer to coffee with the MultiBrew

Star Wars R2-D2 Toaster: The Breads You’re Looking For

If you need a bit of droid with your breakfast, and who doesn’t really, get yourself this fun Star Wars R2-D2 Toaster. C-3PO is probably jealous, but let’s face it, Goldenrod just doesn’t have the same personality, and he’s generally pretty annoying.

This toaster burns an image of R2-D2 on every piece of bread inserted into it. No holograms of Princesses here, just tasty toast with an image on it. This officially-licensed Star Wars merchandise will toast waffles, toast, toaster pastries, and more. And you don’t need to go to a Jawa flea market to get it. Why would you ever go back to plain toast after experiencing R2 toast? How could you? You can’t. After all, Astromech droids are part of a well-balanced breakfast.

This bad boy has multiple heating settings like reheat, defrost, and quick stop. It also has a removable crumb tray and an adjustable thermostat. And naturally, it holds two slices of bread. Because R2 is versatile like that. Don’t miss out on this kitchen toaster from a galaxy far far away.

This is proof again that R2 is the king of droids. BB-8 just can’t compete. So let’s raise a toast to… R2-D2 toast.

Guy Builds a Gaming PC Inside of a Toaster

Plug this thing in, and all your games are toast, and so is your computer. For real.  created this toaster PC by stripping down a stainless steel four-slice toaster, installing a wooden block at the base and mounting the components to that.

It doesn’t make toast anymore, which is a shame, because when you are gaming, you probably want some toast for a snack. It runs an AMD Ryzen 7 CPU and an Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards. There are newer GPUs, but the 1080 Ti inside the toaster PC was the most powerful graphics card in the previous generation, and still able to keep up with the Nvidia RTX 2070. It’s still fast enough to run games in 4K resolution, as well as VR titles.

One of the slicker features of the build is the working toast lever, which acts as a power switch for the system:

The modder did a really great job with all of the details on this build, and it is amazing that he got all of those parts inside. People like to say that their computer is toast when it breaks down, but in this case, it really is and it happened during the build process. I love the look of this thing. Great job.

This Ain’t Your Mama’s Pressure Cooker

arktis_pressure_cooker_layout
ARKTIS is the latest in a trend of modern appliances that are taking on smaller forms while providing more functionality. Created for compact living spaces, this pressure cooker whips up smaller servings and takes up less counter space than traditional cookers.

Its reduction leaves little room for a large user interface, so it’s equipped with a holographic UI that displays on any countertop. Here, users can access interactive recipes and controls using simple gestures.

What’s more is, you can pressure cook on the run thanks to its modern wireless charging tech that keeps it piping hot even when it’s not directly connected to a power supply! It’s perfect for potluck dinners!

Designers: Siri Sofie Andrea & Saurabh Hejib for Midea

A major element in the simplicity of the product is the lack of a traditional locking mechanism found in all the electric pressure cookers of today. Instead, ARKTIS uses electro magnets to keep the lid locked while it’s cooking. Controlled through firewall protected programming, it is safer than any physical locking mechanism. The other features such as the steam vent and safety valves are also controlled electronically, making the product safer and more reliable than ever.

When ARKTIS is in use, the led strip is “Midea blue”, and once the food is cooked, the led strip becomes green, indicating that the food is ready. Then with a simple wave of the hand in front of the led strip, the lid opens up. This happens through the proximity sensors embedded in the strip. The hinge has hydraulic capabilities that allow the lid to pop up.

It’s meant to be moved around so you can eat where you want. It has a flushed body design and ergonomic curves and there are no wires as ARKTIS works on wireless electricity which will be standard in the future. The product can be easily carried without the necessity of handles thanks to its embedded rubber grip with a geometric pattern combining elements of the future and the past.
