Han Solo in Carbonite Light Switch: Flick His Switch and Turn Him on

Han Solo in carbonite makes a great decoration on your wall. Just ask Jabba the Hutt. Jabba loved to turn the lights on and see Han’s frozen body staring back at him. And now you can too with this Star Wars Han Solo in Carbonite light switch.

han solo light switch
It was made by Etsy seller wickedstudio, who has worked a UL-approved switch into the crotch of Han Solo. When the lights are of Han is at rest, when they are on, it’s as if he saw the Falcon for the first time.

He hand-sculpted the switch plate to the appropriate scale for the switch. It installs directly to the wall over your existing switch outlet, and sells for $40(USD).

Han Solo in Carbonite Piggy Bank Will Freeze Your Funds

If you think about it, Han Solo frozen in carbonite was Boba Fett’s piggy bank. He turned him in to Jabba The Hutt for a tidy sum of money. Now you can be like Boba Fett and store your money in this Han Solo in Carbonite bank.
han solo carbonite bank

This 12″ tall vinyl bank features Han Solo frozen in carbonite on a freezing-chamber base. Instead of trading Han in to Jabba, just open the bank and take your pennies and nickels out. No need to make the flight all the way to Tatooine and attend Jabba’s lame parties. Jedi Rocks, my arse.

You can pre-order now for $24 (USD), and start saving for that new landspeeder in March of 2013.

Carbonite Mobile backs up the contents of your phone, Android version supports remote wipes

Carbonite Mobile backs up the contents of your phone, allows you to remotely wipe your device

Before today, Carbonite had a few mobile apps, but the backup process was something of a one-way street: you could access content on your handset, but you couldn't back up the contents of your phone. That changes today with Carbonite Mobile, a free app for iOS and Android that allows you to upload photos and other files to Carbonite.com. In addition to backup, though, the Android version offers some features typically reserved for standalone mobile security apps -- things like remote wiping and the ability to reset the phone to factory settings if it falls into the wrong hands. Additionally, you can use the app to locate your lost device on a map, and you can also set off the ringer, even if you had set the phone to vibrate. In the case of the Android app, the software will run in the background; due to Apple's different set of APIs, it won't run 24/7. However, all you iPhone owners out there can program the application so that it backs up the device automatically when you get home. Curious? We've got screenshots below along with download links in Google Play and the App Store.

Han Solo Frozen In Carbonite Is Now A USB Hub

attachment

We love custom pieces of anything, and if the chosen theme is Star Wars, is always a big hit for us. The most recent piece we’ve spotted is a carbonite-frozen Han Solo USB Hub.

The mastermind behind this piece is Pariah Burke, who took a regular USB hub and gave ...

Han Solo Carbonite USB Hub Won’t Freeze Your Connected Gadgets

I always wondered what it must have been like for Han Solo when he was frozen in that block of carbonite by Jabba the Hutt. We know that he was cold and blind when he came out of it, but did he dream when inside of it? Was he imagining a life with Princess Leia during his cryonic sleep, or was his brain switched off too? And if he was so cold inside, was he dreaming about sleeping inside a sliced open Tauntaun to keep warm? Who knows. I digress, anyhow, because this USB hub has nothing to do with Solo’s REM cycles – just how he looked in carbonite slumber.

Pariah Burke created this Han Solo carbonite USB hub that’s perfect for any fan of the Star Wars saga. Also perfect for people into freezing the good guy just when the series was hitting its stride. While Solo sleeps the blackest of sleeps, you can connect up to four USB 2.0 gadgets to the side of his carbonite coffin, which is a feature that not even Jabba’s full-size version offered. Though I’ve heard that you could plug a maintenance droid to that one.

You can grab the Han Solo carbonite USB hub over on Etsy for $45(USD). Looks great with a Leia/Boushh action figure alongside it.

Chocolate Han Solo in Carbonite Sugar Cookies Will Turn You into Jabba

Cookies are one of life’s great treats. Star Wars cookies are even better. Given the way he ate, maybe Jabba the Hutt would have been satisfied with some cookies featuring Han frozen in carbonite instead of the real deal hanging on his wall. Boba Fett really should have tried this tactic first. It would have been much easier than following the Millenium Falcon around. But then Return of the Jedi would have been a whole different story.

If you want to make some of your own Han Solo in Carbonite cookies, you just need a Han Solo in Carbonite ice cube tray, some chocolate and some sugar cookie dough. You can find the recipe here.

It’s a chocolate bar and cookie in one – an awesome treat for that Star Wars marathon you watch every other week.

Han Solo Frozen in Carbonite Guitar Rocks

Guitars come in all shapes and sizes these days and some people are really pushing the art form. This beautiful homage to that scruffy looking nerf herder’s brief (if you consider the 3 years between Empire and Jedi brief) stint in carbonite comes from Travis Stevens, who built this frozen Han Solo guitar for Evanescence co-founder Ben Moody.
han solo guitar
The design is pretty awesome even if the player will be more or less strumming Han’s groin area. Still, as custom guitars go, this is one of the cooler ones out there. But of course I love the original Star Wars trilogy more than most other things.

Travis also built the Millenium Falcon guitar that we featured a while back. The man sure knows how to make some cool Star Wars themed musical instruments. I can’t wait to see what he does next. Somebody already beat him to the punch with GuitaR2-D2, though.

Freeze Yourself in Carbonite at Disney World

Ever wanted to know if you could survive being frozen in carbonite like Han Solo? Well, if you’ve got $100 to spare, you’ll soon be able to find out, thanks to a special attraction scheduled to arrive at Walt Disney World later this month.

carbon freeze me carbonite

Carbon Freeze Me will let guests step into a “carbon freezing chamber” which will snap digital images of your face and convert them into a 3D model. These will then be used to create an 8-inch-tall 3D model of the classic Han Solo frozen in carbonite, but with your face replacing Han’s. It’ll cost you $99.95(USD) if you want one, and that also includes a commemorative LED Carbon Freeze Me wristband. Additional 3D figurines can be ordered for $74.95 each.

Carbon Freeze Me will be on hand for four weekends starting on May 18th, 2012 at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios. You must reserve a spot in advance by calling 407-WDW-TECH, and placing a credit card deposit.
