Borderlands Claptrap Talking Car Charger Won’t Shut up

I realize that a lot of Borderlands fans love Claptrap, but I’ve always found him to be more annoying than anything. It’s that voice. Still, I can’t help but see this Claptrap Talking Car Charger as adorable and I kind of want to buy one. This little robot for your car has two USB ports so you can charge up all of your gadgets while on the go.

It plugs into your 12V vehicle power adapter and fits in a standard cupholder. His eye lights up blue when he’s getting power, so you will always know when he’s on. Use him to keep your tablet and phone juiced up while this little robot runs its mouth. He says a variety of phrases from the popular game series. He says “Hahaaaa! I am alive! Let’s get moving o’ noble henchman” when you plug him in, and “Oooh… I finally got an excuse to turn this on” and “How ya feelin’ minion? Ya feelin’ good? I’m feelin’ good” when you use his charging ports.

Thank God there is an included mute button because there’s only so much of this robot that I can take. You can pick this guy up for $39.99 from ThinkGeek.

Stained Glass Claptrap Lamp: Borderlight

This stained glass Claptrap lamp is pretty awesome. I don’t think it will be as annoying as the in-game version of Borderlands’ topheavy robot. At least I hope so. He will actually do something useful, like provide you with light.

It was created by artist Darke Solace, and it shows the video game robot in a whole new light. Pun intended. His eyes are made from wine bottles, and his arms from a copper pipe. It will probably be very relaxing, yet strange, to gaze upon this robot lamp in your room and not hear his mouth going a mile a minute.

He really does look amazing though. It took five months for the artist to complete, but it turned out great. Sadly it is not up for sale anywhere. Maybe they will put it on Etsy soon.

Borderlands Lifesize Claptrap Replica: Hey Everybody! Check out My Package!

Whether you find Claptrap annoying or endearing, I think we can all agree that we would like to own a lifesize replica of the smart-mouthed robot from the Borderlands games. At least this version won’t talk and talk. And talk. Then talk some more.

This replica from BlackNoboGeekery has some super nice detail, including raised side panels and faux rivets. It’s made from wood and polystyrene foam, then handpainted in the Hyperion yellow with all the lines and cell shading to match the ‘bot from the game. He stands about 27 inches tall and weighs in at about 10 pounds. he also has a wheeled base for easy transport.

If you want, its maker can also add a light-up eye, poseable arms with ball-and-socket joints, or a custom paint job if you want. It is perfect for any game room.

Borderlands Handsome Jack Loot Contest: Butt Stallion Not Included

…and neither is that free machine that Handsome Jack promised to give to the citizens of Opportunity. That said, what 2K Games is offering in its Borderlands Handsome Jack Loot Contest is still pretty sweet and it could all be yours for free. The loot chest opens up to reveal a sizable storage area as well as golden Handsome Jack and Psycho masks. The life-size Claptrap figure opens up top to reveal its fridge compartment. Finally, you’ll get an Xbox One and four controllers. All in all, the giveaway is worth about $23,000 (USD).

I love how the 2K guy says “Hey kiddos” even though his games are rated M. But why are you still reading this? Get that camera and go pimp yourself for some gaudy man child gear! You have until 5/4/2015 to submit. Head to Borderlands‘ website for the rules and instructions.

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition Has a Remote Controlled Claptrap and a Long Ass Name

2K Games is giving Xbox One and PS4 owners one heck of a deal with its Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. It consists of remastered versions of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel plus all of their currently released DLC, all for the price of one game. But 2K also has something for people with extra money to spend: a remote controlled Claptrap.

The toy appears to be as talkative as its video game counterpart. Its eye is even a working camera; you’ll be able to stream what it’s seeing on your iOS or Android device via its remote control app. Here’s footage of the toy’s prototype, courtesy of Games HQ Media:

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition costs $400 (USD) and is limited to only 5,000 units. eBay scalpers can pre-order it now from GameStop.

Borderlands Claptrap Trash Can: Please Don’t Shoot It!

Claptrap is kind of annoying. Cute, but annoying. The robot from Borderlands has a grating voice, he follows you everywhere, and spends way too much time beatboxing. I complain, but the game wouldn’t be the same without him. The folks over at Our Nerd Home must feel the same way because they made a Claptrap trash can.

I would say that is entirely warranted. They also have a tutorial for you to follow along and build a Claptrap disposal unit of your very own if you want one in your home. And who wouldn’t? You’ll need a step-on trash can, cables, cardboard, and some other stuff, but the end result looks pretty amazing.

It would feel great to throw trash in this guy after having to deal with him in game for a few hours. Take that, you bucket of bolts!

Greetings, traveler! Self-professed yarn- and knitaholic Morrgan made this adorable knitted replica of one of the funniest videogame characters ever conceived, CL4P-TP aka Claptrap. I’m sure the robot would love to have this toy to keep him company and listen to his endless rambling.

Borderlands Claptrap Wedding Cake: Save the Last Dance for Him

You know, I kind of like Claptrap from the Borderlands games, but I have to admit, he was also really, really annoying. Still, he made the game a little more interesting with his stupid banter. He’s just not as cool as R2-D2.

claptrapNow this Claptrap wedding cake may not move and say smartass things, but it is still pretty awesome. It was made by Black Sheep Custom Cakes and the details are so nice that it looks real.
