Are you ready for April Fool’s Day? No? Then you better get your head in the game- literally with this super funny and slightly creepy DIY Head in a Jar Prank. To create the illusion you could either chop off your head and place it in a jar or follow these easy steps (we recommend the second method). First photograph yourself from the front and sides. Next you’ll need some minimal photoshop skills to combine and blend the three images into one smooth one. You could also just use one side of your head and mirror it instead of taking shots of both sides. You’ll still need a pic of the front of your face though!

Print out the image, laminate it, roll it up into a cylinder and tape it together. Next insert it into a jar. The jar should be larger than the rolled up photograph. This allows you to fill the jar up with water and food coloring so your face has a slightly distorted look when you look through the jar. Animated gif time:

With that color water inside the jar, it looks like a well preserved decapitated head. Creeepy. Now just place the jar wherever you want your victim to see it. Or take it with you anywhere you go.

If you haven’t seen the Lego Movie yet, go now! It’s awesome! You’re awesome! Everything is awesome! You know what else is awesome? This gigantic Lego mini-fig of Emmet, the star of the movie. We spotted this at the 2014 Toy Fair yesterday (at the Javits Center in New York City) and it’s made entirely out of regular Lego pieces. It’s at least 6 feet tall. Did we mention it’s awesome?!

If you think this painting of a chair looks good enough to sit on, you’re in luck because you actually can do just that. The Canvas (designed by YOY) is made to look like a canvas painting but work like a chair. It’s made from a wood frame covered by an elastic fabric. The elastic fabric stretches out so you can sit yourself right in the painting. Bet you can’t do that with the Night Watch (trust me, I tried and am now banned from most major museums).

It’s probably ok to sit on the arms of this one. An image of an armchair is printed right on the fabric. The result is a highly portable seating option that you can easily stow away when not in use. A chair that looks like a work of art. It’s also available in sofa form:

I bet your desk isn’t this cool. If you happen to have a spare Tesla lying around, why not make your own (really expensive) desk? East Bay Motor Sports debuted the Deskla they built for Drapper University in California. It’s a receptionist style desk made from a Tesla Model S body! No, they didn’t destroy a working car to make the desk, they used a “factory reject” shell.

The team cut the aluminum body into an L shape, and put a desk behind it. The car’s charging port powers the 6 USB and 3 120v outlets behind the desk. The Tesla’s seats were used to create the office chairs. We tried to reach the person who sits behind this desk for comment but he was too busy making vroom vroom noises while clutching an imaginary steering wheel to get back to us. (via yahoo)

3D Printed Micro-Planter Chess Set

This might be one of the greatest uses of 3D printing we’ve seen yet. This Micro Planter is a 3D printed chess set with each piece being a tiny micro-planter. Now there’s two ways to kill a piece in this game- using traditional chess moves or just not watering it for a long time. Here’s an overhead shot to see the whole set:

You could even plant herbs or succulents that have a name or shape appropriate to the piece it is. When you’re not playing, the pieces can be nicely displayed on a windowsill without the board and it wouldn’t look out of place at all. The piece design is based off a Bauhaus Style chess set for all you architecture fans out there. If you happen to have your own 3D printer, you can download the files for free and print your own planter chess set at home.
