Denture Shaped Hex Bit Holder: Open Wide!

Because nightmares come in all shapes and sizes, this particular bad dream happens to come in the shape and size of a drill and screwdriver bit holder that looks like a pair of dentures. 3D printed by Etsy seller MacGyverDood, $50 will get you a pair of empty dentures, and $70 will get you the dentures with a 100-piece screwdriver and drill bit set so you can fill it with your most frequently used “teeth.” I don’t even own a pair yet, and I’m already afraid to go anywhere near my tool chest.

Available in a variety of different colors, the dentures hold bits in each of their 28 tooth holes (plus an extra in the floor of the mouth because why not?) thanks to embedded neodymium magnet magnets, so your bits won’t fall out when you don’t want them to. Of course, if you ever catch your dentist reaching for a full-size drill bit from their denture bit holder, it’s time to swing that spotlight at them and make a run for the door.

Am I going to buy one just so I can put the drill and screwdriver bits under my pillow to see if the tooth fairy will bring me a dollar? Yes. Will it work? I suppose that depends on how poor the tooth fairy’s vision is. She doesn’t fall for pebbles or pieces of chalk, though; I do know that.

Stormtrooper Multi-Tool: The Empire Has a Sonic Screwdriver

If it isn’t already, soon, every single product will be available with some sort of Star Wars theme. Case in point: this Stormtrooper Multi-Tool. It’s a multi-tool, but it’s white and has a stormtrooper head on the side of it, apparently making it just Star Wars-themed enough to justify selling. What do they take me for, some sort of Star Wars fanatic? I’m going to buy two, one for everyday carry, one to leave at home in my junk drawer.

Available from Firebox, the $21 tool includes three different-sized flat-head screwdriver heads, three different Phillips heads, one mini glasses screwdriver, and a flashlight so you can see just what you’re screwing. So while I guess it technically is a multi-tool, that multi-tooling is pretty much limited to driving screws.

But are stormtroopers even handy with tools? Because if they’re as good at repairing things as they are at hitting the target, they’re shooting at, I want no part of it. You’re better off just stripping all the screws so you can’t do any more damage than calling Chewbacca to come and fix it for you.

The people in the Star Wars universe wouldn’t survive a day without their droids. But you have to keep them running, so you need a good set of screwdrivers – something like these lightsaber screwdrivers.

The set will cost you $20(USD) from ThinkGeek. It includes two flathead drivers with Yoda and Darth Vader’s hilts as the handles, and a Phillips head screwdriver with Luke and Anakin’s lightsaber. Sadly, there is no star-shaped Torx driver.

If you find it frustrating that you’re always dropping the screw just as you’re getting ready to drive it into the wall, you might want to look at the Screw Grabber. It’s a simple rubber sleeve with ribs on the inside that gently holds on to your screw and keeps it there until you’re done with it. Usually smartphone cases are little more than eye candy and protection for your phone. Sometimes they will pack one extra function like a kickstand onto the case. But the ReadyCase is something totally different, it has 7 functions in one. The case itself is fairly slim and manages to pack a headphone clip, USB thumb drive (8 or 16GB) which also works as a kickstand, a quick snap lens ring, and a multi-tool which has standard and serrated blades, flat head screwdriver, and a bottle opener.

That’s a lot of stuff in one case- I like that headphone holder, that’s pretty slick. As you can see it’s not very thick at all. It comes with three lenses to attach to the lens ring (macro, fisheye, wide angle). Here’s a video demo:

Now this is a manly man’s iPad stand. It’s made from tools, using tools. Frank Luedtke makes and sells these handmade stands in his Etsy store for $95 each (a manly man’s price). He makes a few different styles like the screwdriver model above and the hammer stand below:

The hammer one is sold out right now, but I’m sure he’ll be making more soon. Or you could even build your own using the tools of your choice. Personally in my household this would probably not be allowed since we require a ten foot buffer zone between tools and breakable electronic devices (ever since the “flying socket wrench into the LCD TV incident”).
