Now that’s a Hot Fireplace!

inframe_fire_place_layout

Fireplaces might just be the perfect method of creating a warm, homely and cozy atmosphere within a room, but it’s fair to say that some apartment’s or house’s décor just doesn’t welcome the conventional fireplace.

‘In frame’ is a modern take on the traditional fireplace and it aims to connect the past and the present through carefully considered design. The elegant frame that surrounds the circular central section has been designed to be rotational, allowing it to be easily adjusted. This frame also creates an area to hang basic laundry, so it can dry.

In frame’s flexibility doesn’t end there, the user has the choice of either hanging it on the wall, so it mimics the location of a traditional fireplace, or having it freestanding in the center of the room. Whichever option they choose, it will be sure to make for a stunning addition to the room!

A New Way to Warm Your Hands

natura_01

It’s one thing to feel the warmth of a fire from a distance and something entirely different to touch it. That’s the idea from Natura, an innovative stove and winner of a 2017 RedDot Design Award.

The main body of the stove is composed of steel with cork profiles placed and fixed to its structure. These profiles are separated from the steel structure to prevent the cork from darkening over time. Aesthetically, it’s reminiscent of vintage steam radiators only with a modern material twist. The cork material also does double-duty as a security layer, allowing users to safely touch and feel the wood stove.

Skull Fireplace Logs: S’mores, Anyone?

Have nosey neighbors who like to snoop around your backyard? Why not scare them off by burning these awesome gas fireplace logs which look like charred human skulls?

Myard makes these fantastically gruesome skulls using lava granules, heat-resistant ceramics, and a steel structure underneath. They’re designed for use with natural gas and liquid propane fireplaces, but also work to top off the logs on a wooden fireplace or fire pit. Each one measures about 8 to 9″ high by 6.5 to 7.5″ wide, making it roughly the same size as a real human skull.

They’re available over on Amazon for $50 each – which isn’t exactly cheap – but they’re designed to last for years, so you’ll get years of pleasure watching the skulls of your enemies burn.

Fireproof Skulls Will Spice Up Your Firepit

Nothing says “I’m your nice, warm, and welcoming neighbour” than a fire pit stacked with a bunch of fireproof skulls. If that’s the kind of image you want to project, these skulls will satisfy your every need. Made from “heat-tolerant ceramic and lava granules, layered over a steel structure”, each skull weighs 10lbs and costs a hefty $65, meaning that if you want to recreate something like what you see in the picture, you’ll have to spend at least $500. It’s a small price to pay to display this much flair, though.

Funky Outdoor Fireplace

This wild looking concept is at once a sculptural centerpiece and functional fireplace for your outdoor area. The modern wood-burning design differs from other fire pits in that it encourages people to lean on and touch its surfaces to warm their body while observing its internal spiral flame created by an air flow rotation system. The copper strips that fan outward are also warmed to provide heat to the user’s feet. Unlike other conventional wood burning stoves and fireplaces, this design has no chimney or other means of moving smoke and combustion gases away from the user. An internal system draws cool air inside from around the base and enters a series of tapered helical shaped chambers where it accelerates and is pre-heated. The twist direction of the helical chambers provides air flow rotation in the same direction generating a swirling flame.
