Taser’s smallest weapon ever is for civilians, not cops

Although Taser is mostly known for supplying weapons to law enforcement officers, the company also focuses on people who are interested in self-defense products. With this in mind, Taser's introduced the Pulse, a small and lightweight weapon designed...

This Creepy Scarecrow Robot Can Tase You

This is one of the wackiest and most terrifying robots that I have seen in ages. It is a robotic scarecrow built by a Turkish farmer. The idea is that it will keep bears from destroying crops. Wouldn’t that make it a scarebear? Based on its description though, it will probably make bears freak out and destroy even more crops.

Basically this robot makes car alarm sounds and is equipped with a 25,000-volt taser which it swings around dangerously. I pity the bear that runs into this thing. Judging by the fact that this thing is homemade and basically a craft project, it is only a matter of time before it starts shocking farmers.

It’s really slow too, so I don’t think it will be able to even catch up to a bear. Well, thanks for building something creepy anyway.

Make Taser-proof Clothing with Carbon Fiber Tape: Defense Against Self-defense

Aside from being very strong and rigid, carbon fiber is also a very good conductor of electricity. Hack A Day Projects member Shenzhen took advantage of the wonder material’s property to make an electroshock-proof coat.

Shenzhen simply stuck strips of carbon fiber tape under the lining of his coat using iron-on hem tape.

Because carbon fiber is more conductive than human skin, the current from the taser will flow through the tape.

Because it’s just a matter of sticking carbon fiber strips, you can actually do this to practically any piece of clothing. Shenzhen also used carbon fiber tape to make heated clothing, although that mod is a bit trickier and requires a power source to work.

DIY Stun Glove: You Got the Touch! You Got the Power!

A couple of years ago we saw a pair of taser gloves made with everyday items. But both gloves had to be in contact with the target in order for them to deliver a shock. GreekGadgetGuru’s stun glove lets you ward off attackers with just one hand.

The metal spikes on the glove are wired to the stun gun on his wrist. GreekGadgetGuru made it so that the polarity of the fingers are alternating. This means he only has to touch something – or someone – with two adjacent fingers for the current to flow. He also incorporated what appears to be a flex sensor into the glove’s switch, enabling him to toggle the flow of electricity just by flexing his hand.

Send GreekGadgetGuru a message on Facebook if you want to know how he made the stun glove. Then send a message to all the jerks who – nope. Just kidding. Breathe. Easy.

DIY Taser Sword: Frightsaber

We’ve already seen a taser shotgun, a taser grenade and even a taser-packing drone. But none of them look as badass as YouTuber jonathanj9969′s double-bladed taser sword. It looks and sounds like an express train to Pain Station, although in reality it’s probably the least harmful of these taser combos.

Redditor Timid_Pimp points out that the sword seems to be this cheap 2-in-1 “ninja sword.” Jonathanj9969 mentions in the video that he replaced the magnets that join the two blades with nylon bolts. I don’t know how the taser is connected to the blades, but it is taped and insulated together with the hilt.

Now, the moment you’ve been waiting for: ladies and gentlemen, we’ve found a willing victim! It’s jonathanj9969 himself!

Calling it now: Taser Sword in the next Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance DLC.

Hack a Day’s Drone Will Tase You, Bro

Hey Range, you wished for a taser-equipped quadrotor drone right? Hack a Day has served as your genie. The folks who run the site managed to modify a Parrot AR.Drone to deliver a shock on contact.

Hack a Day ran two strips of aluminum tape along the outline of the indoor variant of the Parrot AR.Drone. The tapes were connected to the capacitor of a disposable camera. When the parallel strips are connected – like when they come into contact with human skin – the circuit completes and electricity flows through the tapes, resulting in this:

That’s right: the current will turn you into a white dude’s forearm. Seriously though this thing can pack a punch, but fortunately not a Fist of the North Star caliber punch. Watch it chase and tase in the video below:
