Tea ready in 1…2…3!

It takes usually 3 minutes for your tea leaves to reach peak flavor. Take the leaves out sooner and you haven’t used them to their full capacity, and leave them in for longer and you’ve got over-steeped, bitter tea. So how do you ensure you steep your teabag for exactly 3 minutes? Kang Yeonsoo has a pretty ingenious answer.

Merging teacup and hourglass, Yeonsoo’s contraption lets you time your brew. The tea rests in the container at the top while the hourglass at the base of the cup lets you keep time rather accurately. Once the last grain of sand travels from the upper chamber to the lower chamber, take your teabag out, knowing that your brew is just perfect!

The Hourglass Teacup is a Silver Winner of the K-Design Award for the year 2017.

The Backwards Tea Brewer

An alternative to messy drop-in tea brewers, ZaDno is an all-in-one tea serving solution where you drop in the water. Simply fill the strainer with the tea leaves of your choice, attach the glass and enjoy. Super easy to clean, just separate the top, dump the wet leaves and rinse!

The Best Part of Waking up Is Cthulhu in Your Cup

Waiter, there’s a Cthulhu in my cup. Seriously. These fun and strange teacups are the work of Etsy artist VoodooDelicious. Sadly, you can’t drink from them as the beverage in the cup is fake. At least you can at least admire them in your kitchen, while also fearing them.

They certainly make for a fun conversation starter. “Is that a Cthulu in your tea?” You can get several different creatures in various styles and poses, like a Kraken, squid, an octopus and more. They are creepy, but cool and just a little cute.

I’m not sure anyone will ever want to drink a dark liquid at your home again. In fact this is a great way to get rid of unwanted company and make sure they don’t stay too long.

The Tea Cup SlingsHOT

I never realized that dealing with a tea bag was so frustrating! Admittedly, I’m also more of a coffee drinker… but I can still see why the SlingsHOT Tea Cup is appealing. The slit in the handle keeps the tag from falling in and allows the user to squeeze the liquid out of the soaked bag simply by pulling back as you would a slingshot. Just be careful not to pop yourself in the eye!
