William Shatner Saved Americans from Exploding Turkeys Last Year, Watch His New Video
Write Your Own ‘Shatoetry’ and ‘Shatisms’ with William Shatner’s New iOS App
How would you like to literally put words into William Shatner’s mouth? Now’s your chance with his all-new app called Shatoetry. So he won’t be saying what you want him to say out loud to your face, but with this app, you can make him say anything. Just don’t make it too obscene or racy.
Known primarily for playing Captain Kirk on Star Trek, William Shatner is well-versed in the many languages of technology. This is, however, his first time at dipping right into it with the release of his app. Re-arrange the words on-screen to form delightful phrases and sweet rhymes that Shatner will read aloud himself, since each word has been pre-recorded. Hit the break to check out a clip where Shatner unveils his app excitedly to a hopefully excited audience!
Users can opt to create ‘Shatisms’ with others using the co-op mode. An advanced version allows people to create haikus and poems, and more features are in the works and will be released with future updates.
The app can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store for $2.99.

William Shatner Launches iPhone App Called Shatoetry: Oh, Shat!
I think it’s safe to say everyone knows William Shatner, whether it’s from Star Trek, T.J. Hooker, various TV commercials, or Psych. Shat is particularly well known for his “larger than life” acting style and being a generally over-the-top guy. Shatner is also apparently really into spoken-word poetry and has a new app called Shatoetry.
The app has a bunch of different words recorded in Shatner’s distinctive voice that you can piece together to make your own poetry or Shatisms. Think Magnetic Poetry, but with Captain Kirk. The app supports multiple users allowing two users to work together to create their own ridiculous spoken word poems too. Once you create your own Shatoetry, you can share with friends.
The app promises updates with special word packs for holidays and other special occasions. The app is available right now for iOS for $2.99(USD) on the App Store. If you’re willing to throw away your three bucks to try this app out, be sure and let us know if it’s a piece of Shat.
Shatoetry iPhone app lets you put… words… in… William Shatner’s… mouth
William Shatner and technology go way back, but it's taken him until today to get his own smartphone app. Then again, he is a man known to take long pauses. Dubbed Shatoetry, the new app (iPhone-only, for the moment) lets you string together a variety of pre-recorded words -- each with three different versions -- and have the resulting "Shatism" read aloud by Shatner himself. You're then able to send the message to your friends through all the usual means, or even take advantage of a co-op mode that lets you collaborate on a phrase. Of course, spoken word Shatner on-demand doesn't come free -- the app will set you back $2.99.
