Call of Duty Black Ops II Uprising DLC Blows up on April 16

If you’re a fan of Black Ops II on the Xbox 360, you’ll be the first to get your hands on the new downloadable content pack called Uprising. The DLC will bring four new maps for multiple player action including Magma, Encore, Vertigo, and Studio.

The Magma map puts players in a Japanese village that is being besieged by lava flows from a volcano nearby. The Encore map has players fighting it out in close quarters in a concert setting after a London music festival. The Vertigo map puts players on the roof of a skyscraper in India where they have to battle across a landing pad. The Studio map has players fighting on a movie backlot as they battle through different settings including science-fiction and western settings.

The coolest thing that this new DLC will bring is an additional zombie map with new characters called Mob of the Dead that takes place on Alcatraz island. The players will play as mobsters portayed by Hollywood actors Ray Liotta, Chazz Palminteri, Joe Pantoliano, and Michael Madsen.

The new content pack will hit the Xbox 360 on April 16. It will be available for gamers on the PS3 and PC platforms at a later date which is currently unannounced.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II Surprise Trailer Packed with Cameos

Yesterday a new trailer for the video game Call of Duty: Black Ops II aired during Monday Night Football. If you missed that commercial during a potty break or a run to the refrigerator for frosty beverage, the surprise trailer is now available on YouTube. The trailer is packed with cameos from famous actors and little-known web personalities.

The surprise trailer was directed by Guy Ritchie, and the biggest actor in the trailer is Robert Downey Jr., who happens to be flying a jet in the trailer. Other celebrities in the trailer include a comedic actor from France named Omar Sy, FPSRussia, and iJustine. I think this might be my favorite trailer yet for the game.

The trailer shows different players each thinking they have the element of surprise and are about to kill an enemy. However, just as each of the characters is set to take their shot, someone else surprises them and the hunter becomes the hunted. Check out the new trailer below:

Call of Duty: Black Ops II limited editions unveiled, $180 ‘Care Package’ includes aerial drone

Activision never disappoints when it comes to limited edition Call of Duty release bundles, and for the upcoming Black Ops II, it actually may have outdone itself. Besting the RC-XD from its predecessor, $180 will let you snag the Care Package edition for Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. This massive bundle is actually boxed as an in-gamed care package (aerial drop-off not included) that's loaded with a remote controlled MQ-27 Dragonfire quadrocopter drone (!) -- we really wish we'd picked up those Modern Warfare 2 night vision goggles now (not at all for full-fledged, after hours recon of our Aol office-mates...). Naturally, it also comes loaded with the requisite DLC goodies; namely, two extra maps (Nuketown Zombies and Nuketown 2025), exclusive weapon camo, a pair of Player Card backgrounds and copy of the soundtrack. Furthermore, PS3 owners will get a pair of dynamic themes, while those with 360s will receive an XBL Zombie avatar and Claw prop. Lastly, you'll also receive a couple more tangible items in the way of an art book and a duo of "Challenge" coins.

Not looking to terrorize your local airspace? Shave off the $100 premium for the drone and case (not too shabby if the AR.Drone is too expensive for your budget) and you'll be able to grab the Hardened edition packed with everything else. Last, and seemingly least in this case, Activision is putting out a Digital Deluxe for PC users -- similar to the Hardened variant, but with a download code for the aging World at War in place of the physical goodies and PSN / XBL content. Wallet already prepared for the future of secret warfare? You'll find details to place your own pre-order ahead of the November 13th launch at the source links below and trailer courtesy of Joystiq after the break.

Turtle Beach unveiling more headsets at E3, Black Ops II and Wii U licensed gear in tow (update: photos)

Turtle Beach unveiling more headsets at E3, limited edition Black Ops II and Wii U licensed gear in tow

If you thought Turtle Beach was only announcing its MLG-approved gaming headsets at E3, let us tell you that those are only a sliver of everything it plans to offer this fall. As per usual with most Call of Duty releases, you can expect a barrage of Black Ops II headsets from the company when it hits shelves, including the Ear Force Earbuds, Tango, Sierra, X-ray and Kilo and priced $80 to $300. You can expect LED lights, Bluetooth functionality, and virtual surround sound on some of the more expensive models. Moving along, TB has partnered with Nintendo to created licensed headsets for the Wii U that'll also work for the 3DS, and a we're told prototype model will be on display at the show floor.

As if that weren't enough, a new series of smaller "La" ear-blasters have also been detailed. You'll have choice between the USB-powered PLa (PS3) XLa (Xbox) which feature 40mm drivers, independent game and chat controls, microphone monitoring and bass boost functionality for when you need more wub. A computer version dubbed XLa will also be available, stripping away most of the aforementioned features in favor of 4-pole 3.5mm jack for easy compatibility between your devices. Lastly, the M7 has been added to the company's lifestyle lineup, featuring 50mm drivers, an inline remote / mic, a faux-leather headband and memory foam earcup pads for noise isolation. There's no word on pricing or availability for the LA and M-series headsets -- nor are any images available yet for the Black Ops II headsets -- but you'll find more details on everything mentioned in the press release after the break. We'll be sure to update you with more info when we have it.

Update: We've added a gallery of photos just below.
