Nothing Can Be More Festive Than This Ellen Ripley Ornament From Aliens

Sci-fi fans will love this Christmas ornament based on the phenomenal sequel to the original alien horror movie, Aliens. The ornament shows our lead protagonist from the movie (and certified badass) Ellen Ripley, as she suits up in the P-5000 Power Loader and prepares to take on the Queen Alien (a.k.a. “You Bitch”).

It comes from the Hallmark line of Christmas decorations, which previously gave us some other great looking ornaments based on pop-culture franchises such as, Star Wars, Disney and, most notably, A Christmas Story. Yea, we have some of those in my house.

The ornaments look great, and are known for the quality reproduction, and this one looks no different. The Ellen Ripley Power Loader ornament can be yours this Christmas and will run you a cool $20.

Cookie Monster Christmas Tree: Merry COOOKIEEEEE!

This Cookie Monster tree surprisingly has no cookies hanging from its branches  – probably because he ate them all. Decorate this tree with cookies all you want, but they will disappear as soon as you put them on.

Redditor enhydra-lutris saw the potential for true awesomeness in this blue artificial tree and created a monster. A cookie monster. All it took was some imagination, a couple of styrofoam balls and a black pillowcase and now it devours cookies, leaving a mound of crumbs on top of the presents underneath.

But what happens when you run out of cookies to feed it? Things could get ugly if that happens. I don’t want to be around when this tree can’t get its fix.

R/C Flying Christmas Tree: Airy Christmas!

Wait. This is what trees do after Christmas? They fly away? I’d better anchor my tree down so I can enjoy it for a few more weeks. You better nail yours down too, because if Otto Dieffenbach’s tree can fly like this, they might all take off.

Otto is the marketing director of Flyguy Promotions, a company that creates aerial drones, R/C planes and flying superheroes. He doesn’t explain how his tree flies here, but you and I know that it has to be the magic of Christmas.

I don’t really mind if my tree takes off as long as it returns with more presents. Of course the hole it leaves in the roof may be a problem.

LEGO Christmas Tree Time Lapse Build is Block-ificent

LEGO is a magnificent invention, and one of the coolest toys in the world. The little brick can deliver the most pain known to man when you step on one, and be used to build just about anything in any size you can imagine.

In Australia, a group of LEGO geeks built a giant Christmas tree out of LEGO and Duplo bricks. They were kind enough to make a time-lapse video so we can watch the build.

The finished tree weighs over 3.5 tons. That is a lot of bricks. The blocky tree stands 32.8-feet tall, and is on display at the Pitt Street Mall until December 26, 2014. If you live anywhere near Sydney, Australia, it is certainly worth a trip to see. Check to the videos for more detail.
