ColorWare DualShock 4 Ballistic Wrap: Kevlar Awaits

Gadget customizer ColorWare already offers custom colors for the Xbox One and PS4 controllers, but it’s also been releasing limited edition graphics for both current gen controllers. Its latest offering is the DualShock 4 Ballistic, an awesome glossy brown fiber graphic inspired by Kevlar.

Even ColorWare has its limits – the graphic is not actually made of Kevlar, and it’s only applied on the upper half of the controller’s case.

The DualShock 4 Ballistic is limited to 50 units that cost $165 (USD) each. Xbox One owners should also check out ColorWare’s Titan and Carbon controllers. There’s also the dinosaur-themed Jurassic that’s available on both the DualShock 4 and Xbox One controller.

ColorWare Retro 5K iMac, Magic Mouse & Magic Keyboard: Apple ][expensive

ColorWare’s patrons are clearly willing to pay a premium to own unique gadgets. Its Apple IIe-inspired Retro MacBook Air and iPhone 6s/6s Plus were such a hit that the company has given the same treatment to the 27″ Retina 5K iMac, along with the bundled mouse and keyboard.

All three pieces of hardware have been decked out in the throwback light beige color. Like the Retro MacBook Air, the 5K iMac has faux vents at the back, as well as the rainbow-colored Apple logo on the front and back. The Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard on the other hand have a rainbow-colored “Retro” logo in place of the grey Apple logo.

The iMac Retro bundle is limited to 25 units, each engraved with its particular number, and starts at $3799 (USD). There will also be 100 units of the Retro Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard set for $399. You can order them from ColorWare’s website.

ColorWare 24K Gold Plated PS4 & Xbox One Controllers: Next Gen Bling

Gold-plated Xbox One and PlayStation 4 case mods exist, but obviously they cost thousands of dollars. If you want your gaming system to have some of that shine yet still keep both of your kidneys, you might want to settle for ColorWare’s limited edition 24-karat gold-plated Xbox One controllers.

Aside from the coveted coating, ColorWare also added textured tips on the Xbox One controller’s analog sticks. The company also made gold-plated DualShock 4 controllers, but they’re already sold out. As of this writing you can still get one of the 25 pimped out Xbox One controllers.

ColorWare MacBook Air Retro Barely Has Any Color on It

ColorWare usually promotes its services with boldly colored samples, but this time they’re taking a more laid back approach. Perhaps too laid back. Its MacBook Air Retro is a maxed out 13″ MacBook Air with a color scheme and accents inspired by the classic Apple IIe and a price tag inspired by Upworthy’s headlines.

The limited-edition MacBook Air Retro has a “putty” or light beige color, faux vents on its lid, the word “Retro” in place of “MacBook Air” below the laptop’s display and the rainbow-colored Apple logo in lieu of the white one. Aaaand that’s about it.

ColorWare is asking $3,499 (USD) for the MacBook Air Retro, twice the price of a 13″ MacBook Air with the upgraded CPU, SSD and RAM. Perhaps this is one of those things that has to be seen in real life to be admired, but for that price I’d expect to have at least the exact same Apple IIe case and keyboard colors.

ColorWare Now Pimps Roombas

The Roomba cleans your house, but who will keep the Roomba fresh and clean? ColorWare will. The company known for customizing computers, consoles and media players now customizes iRobot’s popular Roomba 780 robotic vacuum cleaner. They’ll even make it look like dirt if you want.

As always, ColorWare offers a variety of metallic and solid colors to paint the Roomba 780. You can specify different colors for seven of the cleaning robot’s parts. However for some reason, ColorWare won’t touch the robot’s butt; that part will always be black. So don’t make fun of my Oreo-themed Roomba. I did the best I could.

The only thing more fun than customizing the Roomba 780′s colors is hearing about its price. If you already have a Roomba 780, ColorWare will give it a paint job for $249 (USD). Don’t have the robot? ColorWare will gladly hand you a custom painted Roomba 780 for $899.
